I LOVE that the authors of this book give a holistic approach to health and wholeness. It's divided into 4 parts: 1) God's Design for us. A biblical account of God's Kingdom at the beginning of time helps us understand how God originally intended for us to live. 2) Reclaiming what was lost in the Garden of Eden. This is the account of how God sent Jesus to restore mankind. In this section, the author's address the importance of confronting our emotions, taking them to God in prayer and setting our mind on the truth of God's word. Kingdom living is described as learning to rest and abide in Christ so that He lives through us by the power of the Holy Spirit. 3) Caring for God's Temple-our body through diet, exercise, and nutritional supplements. 4) An Eternal Perspective. It was the theology in chapter 10 (Healing God's Way) in this section, that gave me problems. I disagree with the author's viewpoint on issues concerning God's will and healing. I feel he dismisses the complete work of the cross here. The scriptures he gives to substantiate his viewpoint are misinterpreted (my opinion) and isn't within God's character. I wouldn't throw out the baby with the bathwater though. Read it prayerfully with an open mind and form your own opinion.
