When **that** one-night stand isn't enough oh they wish it was or they think they do anyway, but you know fate always throws a monkey wrench in your plans. For these two trying to avoid each other just put them in each other's paths more often than not. An incredible night was just that a night, no future just a good old romp.
The bear and the ranger are swamped with work, one keeps a step up on the male-dominated environment she works in, and he well he's a shifter and one of three mayors running a "secret" town. The funny thing is while Colin and Piper work at staying away from each other, Colin only makes it easier with his callousness because on the real Piper don't have time to be "involved" but neither of them can stop thinking about the other.

Sweet, sexy and sassy. Big burly bear shifter Colin has found his mate in curvy park ranger Piper. She has enough issues proving she can do her job without dealing with the hot guy. He has enough things on his plate without dealing with the distraction of a sassy mate. Fate will not be denied. Hot. Hot. Hot.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a good job. Quick low angst listen. You need to read/listen to book 1 as this series has a continuation story arc. The audiobook had and issue of skipping around (chapter 13-15).

I recommend reading the first book in the series before you read this one as otherwise you're missing some of the background and world-building.
Piper is a park ranger based in Anchorage. Determined to prove she's the best, she never backs down. Colin is a bear shifter and Co-Mayor to the hidden town of Winterland. Months ago they had what should have been a one-night stand, but neither has been able to move on. For Colin he knows that Piper is his mate, but he's seen what happens when a shifter loses their mate and he isn't willing to risk getting to close.
I could understand that Piper was trying to prove she could be the best park ranger and keep up with the men on her team, but I think she comes across as too stubborn for her own good at times. I could understand Colin wanted to protect his heart after seeing what his father faced, but I'm not sure how he thought choosing the pain now was better than potential pain later. I do think once they start to compromise they worked together, and the chemistry between them was certainly there from the start. I wish we got see them interact more with Peter as he will be an important part of their future together. I do wish that Piper being separated from her team had been better addressed, it felt like it gets brushed aside too easily. We do learn a lot more about the sick shifters and I'm looking forward to seeing how that impacts the next of the books.

Colin & Piper
She was the best Ranger in the cold Alaska country. She'd worked hard to prove it and be accepted by the rest of the all-male team. She didn't have time for men in her life. Not counting that one time...but she'd avoided seeing him again--the jerk.
He hadn't gotten her out of his mind. He was the back end of a donkey for the way he'd just left her. Now he had to avoid her. He had a responsibility to his hidden shifter town, as one of the three mayors. There was enough going on to keep his mind busy--he wished.
It seemed that the people who knew them both had other ideas. Their friends had seen the way they looked at each other. The spitfire she threw at him was deserved and only made him want her more--a bear couldn't ignore his mate--no matter how hard he tried.
Living far apart didn't matter when they were both called on the same rescue mission. Even the best Ranger can have an accident in the wilderness. Rescue--together again and so much more.
This is one of my favorite stories! It is a stand-alone yet has some familiar characters and an underlying trend. The end is complete for this couple. Not only do we get to visit some old friends, but there is plenty of steam and action. Great read and I recommend it alone or with the book before it.

When I opened the book I had no idea that I would be so pulled in. The Characters are real and the situations are relatable and believable. I looked at the relationship between our couple and was like This is what I want! Piper and Colin are a match made in heaven. I never give away the plot or storyline as I know we all get enough to lure us in. LOL But I really love the storyline and closeness. I read the book 3x before I would rate it as I wanted to make sure I didn't look over anything of importance. I can't wait for the next installment.

Fate
Colin has a lot on his plate with his new half brother, sick shifters, co-Mayoring the town and the missing humans. He does not have time to deal with finding his mate. Fate feels differently though.
This book is filled with a strong willed human woman and a grumpy polar bear trying to fight against each other and destiny. I loved it!

Exciting 2nd book
Loved feisty ,stubborn, and strong Piper from the start. She had a self confidence to be admired but was vunerable too. Colin was a strong polar bear shifter who thought he had to protect everyone. Made some bad calls but fate put him together with Piper. Just what they both needed. Add some danger and a great story is told. Recommended read.

It keeps getting hotter
This book is another fantastic addition to the series! I love the characters and the story just drew me in. I enjoyed how these two reconnected and how the book flowed so smoothly after the first one. This book is a fantastic weekend read and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

A simply wonderful second story in this series, you will be captivated
This was a simply splendid read and had everything in it I have come to expect from this simply wonderful author Milly, the story was sweet and sexy and the plot was so well written that once you begin reading you will be like me and read in one sitting.
The bear shifter Colin is simply wonderful and you cannot help but feel your heart go out to him as he struggles to find his way with the park ranger Piper, she is more than a handful for any mere man.
This is a great story with plenty of action and surprises.

This is a steamy story of a polar bear, who is in denial, meeting his mate. Colin cannot get Piper out of his mind after their first hook-up and the same goes for Piper although she's a little mad that he never contacted her. Well, fate definitely has something up her sleeve. Piper, as a park ranger, is very strong willed and doesn't take kindly to people, especially Colin, telling her she can't do something. Of course, he does save her after she crashes her snowmobile while on a mission with her fellow rangers and is separated from those rangers also. Their attraction is too strong to avoid and they finally stop fighting it.

Great read!! I really enjoyed Collins and Piper's story. Plenty of intrigue, action, adventure, and if course steamy romance to keep you hooked from beginning to end making it a helluva read. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Milly has done a great job with this new series. I love how she's brought the two stories together and left us with an amazing segue in to the next. Piper and Colin met a while ago and had an amazing "one" night stand. Piper is furious because she thought she meant more to him than that. Colin is trying to protect his heart by pushing his mate away. However, fate has different plans. As much as he doesn't want a mate, he knows he loves her and cannot stand the thought of anything bad happening to her. Little does he know an old enemy from the past is coming back and everything isn't what it seems. I love the chemistry between Colin and Piper and how she doesn't take his nonsense. I cannot wait to read the third story in this series.

Colin had a one night stand with Piper. But what Colin wasn't expecting to know that Piper is his mate. Piper is a ranger and has every intention to stay away from Colin. But they have this imagination rope that is always linking them together. Can they both realized that they are made for each other? Piper and Colin were an awesome couple. Exactly, what I have been waiting for in the second installment of this series. It is perfectly packed with steamy love scenes and action in between. The love and passion between Colin and Piper is amazingly molten and sultry. Every time they’re together, they argue, which leads to a torrid love making that leaves them both, as well as the reader, satiated but wanting more. The main plot continues from the first book, with a twist as well, but leaves off to finish or continue in the next book. I cannot wait to read Sawyer and Grace’s story.

Another winner for Milly! This was a great read with such awesome characters! Piper and Colin were fantastic together! They’re both so strong willed and stubborn they fought every time they met and ended up in bed! This was a very enjoyable and exciting read! Very sweet! Can’t wait to read Grace and Sawyer’s story! Wonderful series with great characters in Winterland! Highly recommend

Interesting developments
While these are considered to be stand alone books, they are not. If you don’t read the first book Snowkiss, you will be a little lost in this book. Piper and Colin were a great couple. This book takes the story of Winterland in an interesting direction.

But fate will not let him escape that easily, watching Colin fight the attraction, fight his bears needs, fight what he really wants is great fun. I love seeing these huge, hot Alpha's made of muscles, upon more muscles and wrapped in muscles brought to their knees by tiny, human women. And these same tiny human women are leading the fight to defend and save Winterland! Go girls!
I love this series and look forward to Sawyer and Grace's book.

This is the second book in the Royal Claws series and it is so different from author Milly Taiden paranormal books. I like both styles don't get me wrong. It is nice to see a change in her writing it makes for a break in the attitudes of the shifters. This is Colin and Piper's story, Neither wanted a mate or relationship and it is funny how fate changes things.

Piper is a ranger and determined to protect all. Colin we met in the last book he is one of the 3 mayors of Winterland. He met Piper 3 months ago had a one night stand and it scared him as he realized she is his mate and his plate is so full he does not want to have to worry about a mate. Piper could not believe how drawn she was too him. They run into each other again and chemistry sizzles. This one has drama, action, adventure. This is book 2 loved the characters and story. I cannot wait for Seth's story.

I can’t scream loud enough to share how much I loved this book. Piper and Colin were the perfect couple and Colin’s bear was ADORABLE. I loved their conversations. I enjoyed the annoyance she felt with him but that mate pull is strong. Milly always delivers a great story with chemistry, fun characters and I LOVED the teaser at the end. I can’t wait to read Sawyer and Grace’s story!

Good Series, But...

This is Colin and Piper's story . Ranger Piper is determined to stay away from Colin whom for some reason gets under her skin . Colin had a one night stand months ago but knows that she wasn't just a one nighter but is his mate but does what he can to stay away from her but of course that so isn't happening !! Fate and a snowstorm make sure of that !! I adore stories that has everything a PNR reader could want and this one does just that !! Well written and recommended to all !!

Hot hot hot! Piper and Colin were an awesome couple. Talk about love hate. Lol. I loved how Colin would make her mad on purpose. He loved her spitfire attitude. Loved how she seamlessly fit in with the town. Love the insta love. Grab this book.

Absolutely Fabulous. It takes you too the deep cold of Alaska where shifters live in peace or try to. This book is so full of action and sexy time it definitely keeps you reading
