An elite ski resort suffers a power failure threatening the safety of its guests. As the residents run supplies between the stricken lodges, a body is found butchered in the snow. Can the Contessa and Tiff discover who likes to truly carve up on the ice? A fortnight of indulgence turns into two weeks of survival as an avalanche and stormy conditions cut off the exclusive Monte Rosa resort. But as the cold sets in with the power lines down, the Contessa finds out there are more deadly things on the slopes than snow and ice. Frostbite is the second murder mystery involving the formidable and sometimes downright rude lady of leisure and her straight talking niece. Bonded by blood, and thrown together by fate, join this pair of thrill seekers as they realise there's no such thing as pure snow. Watch your back when they only ski on the red slopes!
I read the first book and was looking forward to this one! Contessa Catriona Munroe (Cat) is traveling trying to get over the recent death of her husband Luigi, and is accompanied by her autistic niece, Tiff. Their first adventure, a cruise to the icy north, wound up with a murder, which Cat and Tiff helped to solve. Now, Cat is hoping for a quiet time at a ski chalet resort where she could relax and Tiff could snowboard. The people staying in the various chalets are a mixed bag: college kids, a family, a couple, a singing diva and her groupies, and a single man. Not long after they arrive, they lose power, an avalanche cuts them off from those below, and a dead woman is discovered in the snow! Not exactly the quiet retreat Cat was looking forward to! Tiff is such an interesting character, she kind of lives in her own world, and speaks her mind, without thought to how others will react to her statements. Cat is so good at smoothing things over, and making allowances for her behavior. Tiff is determined to figure out the murderer, and Cat gets dragged along to keep her safe. A great read, with lots of twists and turns! I receive an ARC from author through Book Sirens, and write this review voluntarily.
I hadn't read the 1st book in the series but this can be read on its own. There is enough little bits dropped in to give you the background to the Contessa and her niece Tiff.
They arrive at a ski resort for some relaxation and find themselves with a mix of different people - a group of students, a famous singer who's a total diva, married couple, a rude guy who wants to keep to himself, and a brother and sister with the sister's kids.
Their relaxing break soon is interrupted by the murder of one of the students during a power cut and an avalanche. The murderer has to be still among them so of course, Cat and Tiff somehow end up doing their own investigating.
What follows next is an amusing story of this investigation in between Cat's drinking. I quite like the character of Tiff, quite blunt in her observations and remarks, and her frustrating relationship with Cat. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Frostbite is a Contessa Munroe Mystery Book 2 by G R Jordan. The beautiful Contessa, Catrional “Cat” is with her niece, Tiffany “Tiff” at a Ski Resort. Tiff has her snowboard with her and is ready for the boarding course. First the lights go out st the resort and later an avalanche cut off all access to the resort. This fast paced mystery finds Cat and Tiff trying to get the to the bottom of two murders. There seems to be lots of possibilities for the killer and exciting twists and turns. The characters are so interesting. I can’t wait to read book 3 and see what Cat and Tiff get into next! I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
Spending an extended vacation high in the mountains at a secluded resort in the dead of winter sounded like a wonderful idea. Still grieving the death of her husband, the Contessa (Cat to her friends) and her niece Tiff book the trip. Even from the beginning things seemed a little off. It got a lot worse when another guest is found dead and the power to the entire resort goes out. Tiff becomes obsessed with discovering who the killer is and Cat is forced to join in to try to keep Tiff safe. Plenty of nail-biting suspense and everyone is a suspect. Everyone is acting suspicious. Will keep you reading far into the night!
The Contessa and her niece Tiff have travelled to snow country to try and get some time away at a ritzy ski resort. Unfortunately when one of the guests meets and untimely demise, they are thrown into solving the case. Was it an accident or murder? As they investigate we are introduced to a crazy cast of characters with some odd pastimes.
Fun mystery, lots of twists and turns. Good surprising whodunnit.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, all opinions in this review are my own.
Another chilling adventure as Cat and her niece Tiff go for a quiet ski vacation at an exclusive resort and wind up in the middle of a must-solve mystery with a lot of suspects and confusion. I was on the edge of my seat and hanging onto every word until the answer was revealed. Look forward to more exciting adventures with these two globetrotters. I received a copy of this book from Booksirens and am voluntarily leaving my review.
As this series continues, the Contessa & Tiffany head to a ski resort with the idea of having some relaxation time. Things don't go as planned and the two are wrapped up in in another murder mystery. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a hard-hitting, nail-biting, whale of a tale. There are more twists and turns in the story than on a rollercoaster. The characters are relatable and realistic. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
