Is this the “Ultimate” vegan and intermittent fasting guide? No, not at all
Does it have “everything” you need to lose weight healthy? Meh
Is this a quick and easy read? Definitely
If you have already read a book about fasting (I guess depending on the book) you already pretty much know everything in this book. The vegan aspect does not give any recipes or meal guides…it just explains what vegan is. I have been vegan for years so I know what it is and how to cook vegan but I was hoping for some good healthy recipes
Two things I think could have made this book better and more appealing for myself would be:
To hear the authors story so I could hopefully relate to their struggle to lose weight prior to trying vegan/fasting.
More focus on the vegan aspect. Like some of their favorite recipes to make while fasting. They go as far as explaining what vegan is. Which leads me to believe they expect the person reading this to not currently be a vegan. When you first start it can be overwhelming. Cooking non-vegan your staples are meat, cheese, and eggs…what do you do with tofu? Where do I get my protein? What do I eat instead of that piece of chicken at dinner? All questions I know from experience but so many could be vegans don’t which is why people quickly become junk food vegans eating fake processed meats. Which don’t get me wrong taste delicious (so much better then the vegan nuggets of 20 years ago) but are not a healthy stable on your dinner plate
I am 95% vegan and I was looking for good information on veganism and intermittent fasting. Mr. Curtis wrote a well informed and clear book, his text shows his experience and knowledge on the subject. His book gave me the confidence to start practicing IF.
