Ambassador Blake thought it was just a routine investigation he would be overseeing, but within hours he finds himself on his way to Cape Town to stop an assassination attempt on the President of the United States. With only two days to find twelve mercenaries and their game-changing military prototype weapons, he must rely on his friends if he wants to stop a catastrophe. Brigadier Patrick McIntosh already has a full plate as the commander of Murder and Robbery Division, but he cannot refuse his commanding officer’s request to go to Cape Town and oversee the arrangements for a state funeral for a beloved hero.
