Under The Oak Tree

Ariadne Brown should have everything she wants out of life.

She is young, beautiful and successful. She has a successful restaurant in Manhattan, a stockbroker fiancé, and is well on the way to getting her first Michelin star.

The crowning glory of Ariadne’s perfect life comes crashing down when she realizes her closest friend and ally is conspiring against her, the restaurant she has spent most of her adult life to build and has put all of her money into is about to go under, and her perfect fiancé doesn’t want anything to do with her after all.

Ariadne has no choice but to go hole up in South Carolina, ready to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, as she tries to recover from the greatest defeat in her life.

But even there, she lands on her face. She might be facing another crushing defeat, even though she has put hundreds of miles between herself and her last failure.

And of course, the man who catches her is the most handsome man she has ever met, with playful brown eyes and biceps that look like they could burst out of his sleeves at any minute. Oh, and he just happens to be the town’s doctor.

She knows that she needs to go back to New York and face what happened.

But there is something so appealing about Green Creek, and about the handsome doctor. She can’t admit defeat. She can’t just stay in the small town, as if nothing has happened. If she stays, she won’t get the success she dreamed of. The one she worked so hard to achieve.

How much can Ariadne really sacrifice for uncertain love?

This book is not spicy. It is sweet and clean.

needs a major proofread

This was so difficult to read. She/he/him/her are all mixed up throughout the whole book, sometimes in the same sentence. It need a major edit.
