What happens when your high school quarterback—the unfairly hot one—asks you to be his fake boyfriend?
You kiss him.
I lost everything in the pandemic. At almost thirty, I’m broke, divorced, and had to flee the tech scene and move back in with my parents.
But turns out, everyone around me had to do it too. Including Terry, the hot-as-hell quarterback that never even looked at my goth self back in high school.
There’s unmistakable chemistry between us, but I’ve got some unusual… preferences that I keep in a box in the back of my closet. Turns out, Terry has some secrets of his own. Since we’re both starting from scratch, can we trust each other enough to let our inner freak flags fly?
Author’s note: This is a full-length M/M romance novel. Fake relationship, M/M dominant and submissive elements, slow burn to high heat, mm collar play, feeling a sense of family and true belonging. Like all other books in my Guys From High School series, this is a standalone with characters from other books visiting from time to time.
Excellent first part I had never read this author, but wanted to give it a try by reading the summary. I found the story to be very well written, contemporary but not anxiety-provoking, despite the two heroes, Terry and Jordan, suffering from the pandemic in their professional activity, but also, more or less personal. These two characters are surprising in their desires, their desires to be appreciated for themselves after suffering all year round, their difficulty in accepting their failures and disappointments, and learning to talk to others again. It's an original look, while maintaining a romance between two complex characters. The only negative point: a final cliffhanger that left me hungering for more.(and I don't have it because of the cliffhanger ) I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I haven’t read the other books that belong to this series but that doesn’t matter you don’t need too. I’ve read a few of Jeremy’s books now and loved them this book was no different. I loved the characters and location the book takes part in. I’ve never been to San Francisco COVID killed my plans of visiting, but from my research about travelling there I was able to picture certain events easily. The only really bummer about this book is I want to know what happens next now....
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
