Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
OK I started in the middle of this world and universe. Just picked up a series someplace in the middle probably magic ops or some thing and started. I’m finally going back and reading the series that was the beginning. Holy cow it is so awesome. So good so wonderful so amazing so escape worthy. I really don’t know how better to say how much I enjoy all of the books in the universe but this first six of lira and her gang of misfit folks who are now her family just warms my heart. What also warms my heart all of the author notes I enjoy those almost as much as the stories. So have a wonderful weekend and I’m off to work on books seven through 12 or 18 or whatever it ended up being. Happy five year anniversary I’m so excited for you and I just adore your writing.
Wasn't sure when I started this set...A bit more fragmented at certain parts than other series by these two wonderful authors...but that in no way detracts from the story. Have read a few series from both of them and this one certainly lives up to the usual standards. A detective learns magic is real and that she isn't human....while searching for the murderer of an even prince. Trolls, elves, and a wild mix of other characters get pulled together in the fight to protect family...and two worlds! Worth getting the box set (a few cliffhanger in there) and just need part two of these adventures!!!
I enjoyed the story and its progression, I just find a comp!eye lack of any chemistry or romantic tension left me cold. I get it not being the focus of the story, but for me love is what makes life worth living. Without any, you are just existing. I know the authors tried to create loving friendships, but despite being in Leiras head, we aren't really feeling it. Hopefully that improves in the second part.
This is such a great read. A heroin with a potty mouth a bonded troll For a sidekick and a family of loyal friends they have met along the way trying to save the human and the magical races set to merge In the forseeable future. The friends must find a way to work together before all is lost to darkness. I've really had a lot of fun reading this series and I'm only half way thru, happy me, more to read!
Reading this series from the beginning each time a new book in the series becomes available so, again, congratulations to Martha Carr and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such intexresting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories.
Thanks for this series, first 6 books just make me want to read more. What was it that Mara was so worried about in the first book while she was in the World In Between? She saw Correk with Leira and said, "Nothing good comes from Light Elves!" What did she mean?
For those of you who love magic and fantasy, these books should fulfill your hunger for such reading. I finished the first six books and am anow going onto books 7-12. Note that there are a lot of different characters and plots you must follow closely. No more hints. God bless, and I hope you enjoy as much as I am!
At first wasn't sure but that uncertainty didn't last long...sped thru first set and am now going for second set... Love the antics and personality of YumFuck...he keeps me laughing..sure wish I had his metabolism.. Going on now to get the second set...
Thank You, from books 1 to 6 great stories now on to the next set. Martha Carr you are a great Writer I am so happy to read these stories. I will start the other half. And I will keep reading as many of your books as I can, which I hope all of them. Thank You .
I love the Leira story enough to read it again. I'm starting the second set now. The story pulls you in and connects you to the characters. I love the magic and elfs with a good amount of magical creatures that fit right in.
Even as Keira finds a way to control her magic, she tries it out and waylaid a group of people trying to corral some animals for changing into cyborgs. She lets her magic loose and inadvertently releases a being locked in Oriceran.
A simple beginning is evolving into a galactic storm of characters, the greed of many, th reunion of some powers, and the honor still rolling in a few warriors. Family is many folds in this struggle! I am on to the next 6 books in this series!
Great story Love the troll Everyone should! Strength, joy, a sense of what is right and a willingness to stand up for it Love the extended family and the blood family Too much fun!
This boxed set has been an amazing read and I am excited to continue in the next set. I have enjoyed getting to know Leira, Yumfuck, and all of the wonderful characters of both worlds. Way to go Martha Carr and Michael Anderle
Excellent read. Leira is great! Want her with Correck. Can someone smack them upside their heads, please. Jackson is interesting. Turner, too. But Louie… he needs to give up his treasure.
So much fun and drama best every troll. Just. Roll isn’t come join the ride it’s so worth it I’m off to books 7-12 in the series can’t wait woo hoo. Enjoy
This box set was so good, it has enough twists and turns to keep me interested and also still has mystery. These books have me wanting to get some yumfuck merch.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this boxed set. Thank you to the authors and your imagination. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys other world adventures.
Not as face paced as the Brownstone series, it always seems a bit like everything is being put off for later. While I have moved on to the second boxed set, its not as good as either Brownstone. It is a back story though and brings some context to a couple of characters that are in the other series. For my taste some of the 'cutesy' descriptions and use of descriptive words to designate characters speaking gets a little old. For example when the troll talks using trill once or twice would seem to be fine but the constant use of trill, chirped squeaked seems a little heavy handed.
I love Martha Carr's worrying style. Laid back, kick ass . I feel I'm in the story with every page I read. Can't wait to read the remainder of this fabulous tale. Bravo Ms.Carr, bravo
