The knowledge I need to be the Path Keeper required a journey. One that I’m glad to take, it’s a way to get away from the ache in my heart. Turned out, it was a journey into–well, everything. I saw the birth of a star and the death of one too. The thousands of worlds at my fingertips, wondrous and terrifying. When I return, I’m changed in some fundamental ways. Ones I’m not even sure of yet. That leaves Vale. There are many words I could use to describe him–accurately. Most of which are insults. However, when I step back out of psychedelic wonderland, he’s there. Waiting. Standing there staring at him, while my heart beats a million miles an hour, I have a grand epiphany. The Unsylum and everything in it is mine.
Hello!! I want to thank you for perusing! First off, I didn't write Storage Diva--no idea who that is, lol. Second please know that any and ALL books that are upcoming or released that I write are on my website.
Thanks for reading my word vomit and I hope you're smiling at least once a day, it's good for you. A little monsters and mayhem is good for everyone too!
This book had a good ending. It wasn’t too drawn out and it’s probably the best book out of the series. The one thing that bothered me was all the editing issues. I understand some things being missed. I read a ton of books a year so most times these things don’t bother me. But this time, it got to me. I had to read sentences several times to be sure I understood how it was to be read.
It was a sweet ending but it also felt a bit anticlimactic. All loose ends were tied up nicely but there was this build up around the Runins/the bad guys and then it just sort of fizzled
I desperately want to give this book a better rating since I thoroughly enjoyed the Unsylum series and it's original take on magic, but with all the errors and mangled sentences I can't justify giving it more than 3 stars. I do enjoy the way this story ended and will definitely be checking out Parker's other books. Hopefully the other ones are longer. I felt like this one was rushed and could have benefitted from a more flushed out story.
Mel is supposed to be 38 but very much comes across as mid- twenties. And taller than 5'2". And not a real person, but no one else really gets there either.
Hopefully there is an edition of this book without the errors. Sadly this ain't it. By the third book everything is very streamlined and no bothering with details. Not a huge deal, but not my cup of tea.
The Facets of Feyrie series was much more up my alley, although suited to an older audience.
I don’t know how she does it but somehow Zoe always manages to find the unique story and pull it together in such a way that you can’t put it down. Characters that you become immeshed in, a storyline that you can’t turn away from reading and world building that is so different and imaginative that you want to bury yourself in the world she creates. She’s amazing and this was a brilliant ending to a brilliant series
Once anyways wanted to be a bird. I've collected feathers fur a long time. I loved this series. A strong female heroine the wonderful anti hero. I'm not afraid to make friend's with the monster in the closet. Neither is Mel. Thank goodness.
I lost Kindle Unlimited in the middle of reading this, and now I don't see it listed anywhere at all on Kindle. The writing wasn't great, so maybe it's being redrafted, or I just don't know. I don't really remember where I stopped in the book.
For some reason this anticipated sequel fell a bit flat for me. Things became disjointed and random. Took me a while to finish, left it for months and came back. If there was another I wldnt read it, but happy with the ending overall
This was a satisfying story and resolution for most of the characters except the main two. Their relationship is painful, understandable but it hurts. The ending isn’t a pure HEA for them. I read this genre for the HEA thus the four.
It is just bad. I am some kind of masochist and read the 3 books and have been wondering why. I don't like the personages, they are like 13 yo complaining about everything and making silly conclusions about life. Again why did I read the 3 books?? Pure masochism.
I'm pretty sure I read it and just never ticked it off, but since it's gone Kapoof and disappeared off kindle I can't check. I hope I did read it or else I'll feel grumpy that I can't lol
The last book in the series was awesome. I enjoyed how Mel took to her new task and did everything she could for the people around her. It ended on a wonderful tone and I really liked it.
A decent ending to an interesting series. However, I did get the vibe that the author was simply tying off loose ends rather than writing from a place of passion for the story. Regardless, I was satisfied.
THIS BOOK IS UNAVAILABLE! Do not read this series if you would like to know how the series ends. Zoe Parker pulled the same shit with Facets of Faeirie. Last book in the series is unavailable. After I finally read it (Facets of Faerie)- it was complete garbage. She threw a short ending together that made no sense whatsoever, then promptly removed it from circulation probably because she knew it was shit. Looks like she is up to her old tricks.
Zoe Parker writes the best monster characters. Her Facets of Faerie series is one of my faves, and this series has loads of fabulous monsters, too. Vale and Marigold are brilliant and I loved seeing the growth of the MC. She's a great mixture of tough, sweet, real and helarious.
I definitely recommend this series if you enjoyed Facets of Faerie!
Der letzte hat es nochmal in sich gehabt. Habe viele Stellen aus dem Buch markiert. Pflege eine große Liebe für den weiblichen Haupcharakter. Sie ist unfassbar gut in ihren inneren Monologen.
I love this authors writing and I have to say that this particular series has been one of my favorites. I was constantly on the look out for the next book to arrive. Great characters and an intriguing storyline that will keep you up late in the evening reading, because it is too difficult to put it down. I would absolutely recommend this author and this series. Happy reading everyone!
It is a silly story. Usually conclusions to series carry heavy punch, huge climaxes, give answers. In this book you will find only easy paths and convenient occurrences. Everything to main characters come easily, without work, for example even the bad guys are conveniently coming to her door being unprepared, ready to be offed by Mels sidekicks . Even if anything surprising happens, it gets resolved too easily. Because of that the story lost its charm. It got boring and borderline ridiculous. Even romance is boring. So,while a lot happens in this book,it is ridiculously boring. C'mon, the only way worse to off the bad guys would be convenient meteor shower to kill them while protagonists don't lift a finger.
And grammar needs editing. Lots of missing words, misplaced words and misused punctuation.
I’ve loved Mel and her penchant for messing up from the first Unsylum book I picked up. I wanted to give this one five stars, but the editor missed a lot in this book. Typos, misplaced words, weird sentence structure, and grammar mistakes took away from it for me. It’s something easily remedied with a proofreader, or a dedicated Beta/ARC-reader, willing to point those things out so they can be corrected before the book is published. Overall though, I loved this series and I thoroughly enjoyed Mel’s journey from beginning to end.
3.5 rounded up. This one felt rushed. There were quite a few word errors and missing words, which impacted my overall enjoyment by pulling me out of the story, especially in the last half (not sure if there was an increase in errors or if I just started noticing them more). I was somewhat disappointed in the ending and, although I appreciated the epilogue, to me it felt like there is another short story/novella missing in between.
This book was just okay. It did tie up all the loose threads I think, but it was so rushed-feeling. The interesting bits were kind of glossed over, but the boring, more filler stuff felt like it never ended. I realize now that she will be rewriting this book, and I am so glad to try reading it again, as this left a lot to be desired for me, but the idea of the series is brilliant.
this series is near and dear to my heart. I love that the fmc is no blushing virgin. Seriously love that she's relatable. The van scene... absolutely laughed out loud. Vale. In some ways he's my favorite of all Zoe's alpha holes. Incredible beautiful, well written storyline. Well done Zoe!
I'm so proud of Mel. This book shows her strength and compassion. Vale takes steps to redeem himself, Athena gets a HEA , and Marigolds addiction to junk food continues in this installment of the Unsylum Series.
So I loved this series and this last book wrapped it up beautifully. Mel and Vale get their happy ever after and (while I cried a few times) I'm super happy with how everything worked out.
