She'd thought marrying for money meant she knew all the risks... She was the one at risk of being hurt here, and she had to do everything in her power to ensure that it never came to pass. Victoria knew she hadn’t married for love, but with such a handsome, caring husband, the perfect house, and the rift within her family slowly starting to heal, it’s hard not to get caught up in the dream. So when it all comes crashing down, Victoria has to wake up to reality.
But it was him risking everything for her... They were on their own and he had only one job to do. He had to get Victoria out of this mess safely. Cormac should never have relaxed, should never have thought that his life was finally taking a turn for the better. He should have known his bubble would burst sooner rather than later. After all, life hadn’t been so kind to him in the past, why had he thought this time would be different? He can’t keep Victoria from learning the truth, he can’t stop her from being hurt because of his past choices, but he can save her, even if the cost is his life…
Read the third and final installment of Victoria and Cormac’s story and learn the lesson that sometimes you have to marry for the heart…
Keeping Him, is the third and final installment of Victoria and Cormac's story in The Royals of Avalone universe. It has no sexual scenes, but plenty of sexual tension! Note, this is not a standalone book, but the concluding part of a trilogy.
E.V. Darcy is not my real name, but as I taught High School when I began my writing career, and those pesky kids have a way of finding things, I thought better safe than sorry!
I live in the north of England with my husband and rather large -- and very spoilt -- dog, Jabba, who we rescued in 2015.
In 2009 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Imaginative Writing from Liverpool John Moores University. I then went on to teach high school maths - go figure!
When I'm not writing you can find me procrastinating by binge watching my favourite T.V. shows, playing computer games, or walking my much loved dog, who is my baby!
What a great ending to this trilogy. Exciting to the last page.
An exciting part with unexpected twists on several levels. And all while Victoria and Cormac both realize that their relationship is much more than an agreement. A threatening situation makes them speak out, not knowing if there is still a future for them.
And the emotional moments when James announces that he wants a father and not an older brother, that he would like to call Victoria Mommy now that she's married to Cormac. I couldn't hold back a tear.
And not everything has been answered in this book. I understand there are more books to come. Lady Henrietta Constantine Snape (Hattie) is the next of the 4 sisters who will have to marry for her inheritance. Perhaps in these books the mystery surrounding O'Malley will come to an end

Victoria and Cormac are married in this book and trying to keep things from getting in the public eye. But danger, intrigue, subterfuge, betrayal, lies and surprises are around the corner for them as they try to settle into an unassuming life with a possibility of love. Fun read.
