The Silent Love

Rate this book
Imagine you stumble upon a romantic love letter that was actually intended for someone else? This is precisely what happens to Janine and Preston one afternoon while he checks her mail. Preston already struggles with expressing his emotions and it does cause some relationship tension. Just before leaving for a weekend with his beautiful girlfriend, he decides he will be inspired by the letter. What will he do and how will he do it? The Silent Love might be a short romance story with my usual ingredients, but it's also a story about growth.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book via Booksprout. I liked this story even if it didn’t come across as being written by the most seasoned romance writer. Truthfully, I liked the story and the romantic scenes more than the spicier scenes which seemed generic and cookie cutter-ish. Preston is a sweet and somewhat hot journalist who has trouble expressing himself verbally for reasons I won’t share. You can read that for yourself. Janine is his girlfriend who is incredibly understanding—more than many women would be. They are a couple you really want to root for. When you have family that leaves much to be desired on both sides and you have a nice couple who work together and cheer each other on, you want the best for them. I will be looking into reading more by this author.

THE SILENT LOVE The Lost Love Letter Book 2 By Xavier Harrington
This is the first story I have read from Xavier Harrington and it definitely will not be the last. The Silent Love is a very well written story with great characters. It has plenty of hot, passionate chemistry, drama, twists and turns. Preston and Janine have been together for a year and things have been very stressful between them for awhile, before they leave he loses his job. He wants to take her to go away to relax. This is a 5 star read.

This is a beautifully written love story and I really liked it.

Preston and Janie's story is sweet and touching. Preston has issues with expressing his emotions and Janine deals with it, but still sometimes wants to slap him upside the head. One day while checking the mail they find a love letter that was actually someone elses. After reading it Preston was inspired and decides to use it as a guideline to help him express his emotions. Janine can't believe what he does and is overwhelmed with how he expressed his emotions on one of their special nights.

This is a must read story that will touch your heart, with the love and devotion between Preston and Janine.

I have rather mixed feelings about this story, as I could not warm up or identify myself with the characters. Preston is diagnosed at the beginning of the book as mildly autistic, which explains to her why he is not showing emotions with her. We follow this couple through to their engagement.
Maybe to give depth to the character, the story is told almost completely void of emotion, it reads more like a report than a telling of a story.
It was definitely an experience to read it, bur for me, once was enough

This is a nice romantic story about 2 people encouraging and supporting each other to be their best selves. Preston has mild social anxiety and his girlfriend Janine is still coming to terms with that. The story spans 2 years from a letter that inspires change, a vacation, career advancement and other transitions that happen in real life. At the end I felt there was a lack of emotion in the pages because there are so many detailed facts but there is definitely emotional growth by the characters and a HEA.

Ugh my heart! Here we have our (H) Preston, even though he is highly intelligent and accomplished...he is socially awkward. Who can't relate to that right?! He finds a very understanding girlfriend, Janine, who cares very much for him and wants to help him through this. They endure many of the pitfalls that couples go through. It isn't until they receive a mystery love letter in the mail that prompts Preston to come out of his shell more. It encourages him to break past his silence and declare his love for Janine. Ugh...so many feels!!

A Special Bond

As The Lost Love Letter finds its way to Janine and Preston, they are struggling with Preston trying to express himself. When Janine finds the letter and asks if Preston has written it she finds that his feelings run deep and she helps him find ways to express his feelings for her as best as he can even if it’s not verbal. This was a strong love story of a bond between a new couple and dealing with obstacles.

Wonderful story of love and growth.

Janine and Preston's story was heartwarming with a side of fire. Everyone has baggage. If you find the right person to help you carry it, figure out a way to hold on tight.

Preston and Janine's story was a sweet one. It is every bit the reality you’d see. There’s enough spice, love and back story with the characters that will keep you interested in the story.

The Silent Love by Xavier Harrington is part of the Lost Love Series by other authors. This story is about Preston and Janine and the love they have for one another. I found the narration to be unique and something I am not accustomed to. The story had a decent flow to it. For the most part I liked the characters. Overall, it was a really good book.
