Kaia will be auctioned off by her father to one of 500 men she doesn’t know. She’s avoided it for years but she’s been caught and her time has run out. Lots of behind the scenes secrets. The only guys she wants, she can’t have. They can’t even bid. This reverse harem romance has great characters and of course HEAT. Can’t wait for the next one in the series.

Some spoilers are below, beware
My feelings on this came from the characters and some of their experiences. Not all good feelings either, I am still a little mad at one of these fictional people. Kaia as a character I liked, she had been through some rough times, heartbreak, grief and a mega controlling father, but she managed to stay and become a person with morals and strength. Zorin and Dex are very different, but I can get behind redemption for both the pirate and the dictator. They both have reasons for what they have either done or are trying to do. In Dex’s case, he’s so angry, and hurt, he can’t think clearly.
Now the reason this was 3 stars and not more for me- Ben Nero. He’s the one I’m still mad at. This is my perception of him and his actions to date based on the information we as readers have, along with my own person dislike of certain story elements. Others will find him more sympathetic than I did so please don’t let this make you not read it. Ben Nero is the one everybody lusts after, everybody loves, and everybody wants. I see Ben Nero as an only loves himself, and his people(this is where he could be sympathetic for others). He runs away from difficult situations and abandons the people he is supposed to support and love. He abandoned his oath sworn brother, he abandoned his lifemate, the only thing he hasn’t run from is his ambition. He does give Dex somewhat of an apology and explanation before interruption, but Kaia? Kaia gets basically nothing. He tells her he has a duty to his people to make a million babies with other women, a people that can only procreate by desiring and wanting the other party… so yeah he basically told his lifemate how much he wants everyone but her and to me he’s just a cowardly cheater. He also tries to play it off like it only happened because of the BioWar, BUT this happened a year or two AFTER he left her, so what’s the real story Nero?? He also tells her that when he’s not on his homeworld she’s his and won’t deny that he’s still going to be making babies with other women. He wants to have his cake and eat it to, doesn’t care how she feels about it, doesn’t care that he broke her heart and left her in a really terrible situation all alone when he was an active participant to it. He also wants Dex and now Zorin and plans on sticking himself in whatever relationship she goes for. He doesn’t care if she says no or we need to talk. His reasons for doing things are murky and mostly unknown so maybe he can be redeemed, but what I do know? I dislike him, basically hate him. There’s more I could say about this, but that’s enough spoilers and go make your own decision about Nero.

INTERSTELLAR ANGEL is the first book in the Astral Heat series and is a slow-start, slow-burn reverse harem science fiction story.

The prologue starts with a character called Zorin being held in a cell. He escapes (with help) and disappears until the last part of the book, but not before kissing one of our main males senseless. Kaia has run away from home to escape the chains of being a princess - and I mean that literally. Only now she has been caught and things are never going to be the same for her.

There was a lot to this that didn't make sense to me - the whole cyber aspect of it, if I'm honest. I use a computer but I don't know all about the innards, and that's what it felt like. Once I skimmed over those parts, it got better.

There are some very steamy moments in this but, as Kaia says, no penetration. There is also a lot of back and forth, life-mates, mating pheromones, protective instincts, you name it. Overall, it was a good read that I enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.

Fair warning though - it does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared to wait to find out what happens next. The next book, Renegade Angel, is due for release in December.

Interstellar Angel
An Astral Heat Romance #1
by Laura Navarre

I received an e-arc of this book from NetGalley and Ascendant press in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoy sci-fi/paranormal romance as well as those with a reverse harem spin including those with a polyamorous lean to the RH. So far in my experience with NetGalley those have been pretty rare so I quickly requested this one despite the fact that I found the cover to be cheesy, fairly unappealing and now that I’ve finished the book not terribly representative of the way I pictured the characters. Ben is the closest as I pictured Adam Driver for his character and that guy kind of looks like him. Zoren I pictured older and more battle worn as described and Dex bigger and the heroine with longer hair and different dress and a more techy looking sword since it’s described as a cyber saber. Were I to be paging through kindle unlimited looking for something to catch my eye I’m not certain this would have based on the cover which is unfortunate because it was a really great read.

Be advised it is a steamy slow burn with a cliff hanger. There is no formal consummation of any relationship but it was done in such a way that I did not mind. There was an interesting and unique balance of interwoven relationships, attractions and histories that played off one another in a way that was delightful and delicious.

The world building was solid. I enjoy when an author relates a difference back to how prior humans on earth did whatever as a point of reference for the reader and while that was not employed here it did not take long to settle into the environment and understand the players involved.

There’s an element of enemies to lovers as everyone’s mad at someone for something reasonable to be mad about but largely unavoidable by the perpetrator. There’s a feeling of insta-love in the form of immediate attraction.

I did not spot any glaring typos or grammatical errors.

4.5 stars out of 5 primarily for the cover being eh.

This was my first time reading this author and I will definitely look forward to reading more of her work.

Overall this was a really fun steamy read but if cliffhangers bother you wait until they’ve all been released then binge. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Great SiFi action romance.
Kaia is a half breed. Her mother was a powerful psychic from a race of people with psychic talents. Her father is a god among his people, possessing god like powers. Kaia ran, before her father could auction her off to the highest bidder in the traditional Tombola, where 500 men compete to become the father of the next god.
A decade later the now Prime Class Samurai's fate has caught up with her. She is now in the hands of Dex Draven, the Morgadon First Indomitable, the son of the man that nearly completely destroyed Kaia's mother's people. He is to be her Tombola Master. Worse, Ben Nero, her lifemate, who abandoned her a decade ago, is to be Dex's neutral. Ben is now that Valyrian Precusor. The most power of her mother's people.
Kaia is caught between two powerful men that call to her and have their own history. She would run, except her father has threatened her little sister if she does not comply. The two men she wants she can't have. Then Kaia meets Zorin, the former Mogadan First Indomitable, now the leader of the Syndax, pirates. Number one on Dex's hit list. Kaia thinks the Syndax leader may be the perfect concert. Strong enough to go up against Dex, and prevent him from following in his father's footsteps. Powerful enough to call to her Samuari soul and be the one to fulfill her mother's prophesy. Though Ben has another prophesy surrounding her first born son.
Kaia taking Zorin as concort, will be over Dex's dead body. He is staking his claim, damn the consequences. Ben is going where ever his lifemate goes, if Dex is there that is fine with him. There is something about Zorin.
Great start to the series. A heat stopping, cuss worthy cliffhanger ending. Steamy, chemistry between Dex, Kaia and Ben. Love Zorin's swagger. MF MM MMF elements. Looking forward to the next book.

Gawds NO!!
You can NOT leave me hanging like this!!

I have to admit I almost put this down
The first couple of chapters had plenty of action but I felt a bit overwhelmed. Lost. Information Overload if you will.
This being sci-fi was why I pushed forward -
Many Scifi universes are unique to their authors and can take some time to assimilate as was the case here - and now that I am at the end of the first episode?
I'm so fracking glad I pushed forward
Once assimilated (about 3 or 4 chapters in) I couldn't put this down - I read it in one sitting - Not kidding

The world-building - Creative and unique there is so much more to explore here
The different characters/species - we are given glimpses, minor introductions
The captivating storylines - of which there is a primary with some secondaries that interlink- kept me turning pages and holding my breath
It was easy to follow after the beginning introductions

The tension between the main characters
Between the species
Off the charts

The romance was a slow build that made sense - we have the past, the future, and the wild card.
The chemistry is almost instant but they don't act on desire alone, well they do but they don't

The action and suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat for a "romance" novel I was pleasantly surprised

I am adding this to my must-read list
A SciFi romance that should not be missed

Quick two cents here - The cover, IMO, does not do the story justice

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5)
Trope: Scifi RH - MMMF
Angst: 😰😰😰😰
Smexy: 🔥
Triggers: none

I really just think this story wasn’t my jam. It took me a good chunk of the book to figure out what was going on and there was a LOT of angst - mostly between the male characters based on previous interactions. Once you got over the hump, the story seemed to flow pretty well and was interesting. I really enjoyed Kaia, but the relationship dynamic between the guys felt off and it seemed like one of them was the object of everyone’s obsession, more so than any of the others. There was really no smexy in the book, lots of talk about hormones and heavy petting, but I’m assuming it’s going to be pretty heavy in book two. The book does end on a cliffhanger.

This is an exciting, scifi world set, complicated read, with a pretty big imagined universe and cast, lead by the main four. Kaia is definitely a kick ass heroine and her 3 suitors, one of which we meet at the beginning and who then reappears towards the end, are all larger than life.
This has been a scenically detailed read, so much so, that I felt I could see it as either a graphic comic book or a computer game, in terms of seeing it in my imagination. And that was one if the things I liked about the most. It is descriptive, vivid and very lively. Good read, with more to come as it ends on a big cliffhanger! ❤❤❤❤

I DNF'd this at 31%.

This was my second attempt at reading this book, the first time I couldn't get through the first chapter. Knowing the first chapter is a prologue my second attempt went better, but this book just failed to grab me unfortunately. I really like science fiction romance books and it's hard to find reverse harem books that are available wide, so I was excited when this book fit both. Unfortunately I just couldn't get into this book. The writing style didn't work for me and none o the characters was really likable or interesting. I might give it another try one day, but for now I picked up another book.

Yearning Seething Sexual Tension

This story introduces us to Kaia, ex-princess-current-cyber-samurai-and-bridal-prize, and Dex, Nero and Zorin, the three leaders of warring societies. This story may be slow burn, but oh boy, does it bring the sizzling, simmering, seething heat! I loved the barely-concealed desires all four of the main characters has for the others (individually and together) - so intense! Be prepared for some late nights reading this book (I couldn’t put it down!) and a gasp at the end.

I received a copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This series starter was unique to me. I have not read alot with cyber characters or digital worlds. And while that wasn't the entire book it was intriguing. Kaia is a woman from a culture which celebrates women in chains and she refused to be chained until Dex captures her in exchange tan alliance with her father. Her former lifemate also appears to help her settle into her auction for her bed.
There was some very interesting character, and I look forward to getting to know Zorin Dex and Ben. Kaia herself is intriguing and a captivating character.

The part that was hard for me was there was not a lot of explaination of the cyber world, how it worked and what it really did for the society. Also the waffling between Dex and Ben was ok at first but after a while it made Dex seem wishy. I also have a hard time when character holds to anger over listening to explainations that to me make sense.

I think this was a good start to the series and I hope to continue it.

4.5 stars. I love, love, love all four of the leads in this book! Their chemistry is sizzling hot, and each one is well-drawn and fascinating. On top of that, there's a meaty story of galactic conflict that has me wondering how these four are ever going to get their HEA!

I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book - December 1st seems soooo far away!

I liked this a lot. The world construction was great. The details, the twists, the explanations of why things were this way. The "trap" at the beginning when the FMC was introduced was great. I have delved into a couple of reverse harems, but this was the first where other members of the harem were attracted to one another, so that was an interesting twist for me. I just enjoyed it.

Note: It was a slow burn with a cliffhanger ending.

Beautiful, capable people with believable flaws

This is a hell of a yarn. At first I feared that all these super-beautiful, ultra-capable people would be one-dimensional, but in fact they all have flaws, weak spots, room to grow and evolve. And I will be gladly watching that evolution! Hot sex scenes, rich world-building, occasional flares of out-loud laughter—I say well done…and time to pre-order the next one!

An interesting take on a new sci-fi romance series. Not to mention the action was overwhelming to begin, at least three to four chapters into the story before it began to make sense. Once getting the story under control though, the story became more interesting but still lacked some sort of character development.

A creative and rare form of word building with the book, leaving room for more exploration to come. The storyline was fascinating, interlinking both primary characters and secondary. It was also an easy to follow story with little left to the imagination.

Romance was a slow burn, building slower than I am used to in sci-fi romance. Yet the chemistry was right from the start, if that makes sense. Not acting on just desire may have contributed to the slow buildup. Excited for the next book of the series either way.

KAIA FINDS HERSELF IN A TOMBOLA PICKLE

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Kaia a renegade princess finds herself stuck in what seems to become a menage a quatre, where she has fallen for her captor, his nemesis, and her lifemate. The first and third are people she despises while the second is one she is enraptured with and intends to mate. The story ends with a cliffhanger. The story started off quick and slowed down, then picked up again. I am left wondering if the prophesies are going to come true and who will be the sire.

Interstellar Angel is the first book in the Astral Heat series. In order to save her sister Kaia has to step up and enter the intergalactic mating games. There are 500 suitors that want to win Kaia and call her their own, but she has no plans making it easy for them. I really enjoyed this book, the characters are likable, and there’s plenty of steam. This book ends in a cliffhanger and I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

Book one in the Astral Heat series by Laura Navarre is a lot of fun to read. I just plain enjoyed the story. This author is a new one for me and she didn’t disappoint. This tale has action, great world building, excellent characters, steam, suspense, and some laugh out loud moments. Even though the first few chapters are heavy don’t let it deter you because it is worth continuing. Enjoyed most of the main characters. Wasn’t a fan of Ben so much though. WTH is all I got to say about him and I’ll leave it at that. You’ll have to read to find out about Ben for yourself. This page turner will have you craving book two, Renegade Angel and now off to read it.

*4,5 star review

Kaia has done everything she possibly could to run away from faith, but once she is captured she can no longer escape from it. 500 suitors will throw everything they own in a massive tombola, with a chained Kaia as the ultimate prize.

This book is a multiple POV start of a new RH series. While I'm usually a fast reader, I had to pace myself for the first chapters because it takes a little to get used to this sci fi world and the use of certain words within that world. It pays off though, because once you pass the first 25% of the book the story kicks off and becomes really good. I can enjoy a harem where everyone has a history, and where resentment, anger and hurt make it difficult to find a balance. I am really looking forward to read more about their coming struggle. Kaia is also my kind of fmc; she does everything possible to take faith in her own hands. With Dutch being my first language, I also enjoyed the use of the words "voortrekker" and "tombola"; it felt a little as being a part of an inside joke from the author.

I do recommend reading this start of a new series: the first few chapters feel a little like a struggle to get through, but it is really worth it.

It took me several chapters to feel like I had a handle on the storyline because there are a few different storylines that converge in this first book of the series. The prologue gives the reader a look at one thread of the storyline, but one of the two characters featured in the prologue doesn’t reappear in the actual story until the last 25%.

Once I clicked with the storyline, I was caught up with the intrigue and the many obstacles keeping Kaia from having a relationship with any of the male characters she had an attraction to. Kaia is forced into agreeing to participate in her culture’s ritualistic auctioning of her to one of the 500-interested suitors. Her father is believed to be a god by his followers and he holds Kaia’s younger sister with the threat of forcing her to participate in the bride auction if Kaia doesn’t cooperate.

The first book ends on a cliffhanger. The story left one of the male characters, a favorite in the bridal auction, in jeopardy in the fighting pit which is part of the ritual of the bridal auction event. There is explosive sexual chemistry between Kaia and 3 men who also are strongly attracted to Kaia and each other.

As of the end of the first book their have been several scenes where the characters have revved each other’s hormones with intense kissing and petting, but no actual sexual inter course has occurred. They are all hanging into their desire by the slimmest of threads.

The next book in the series should be super steamy and full of action based on where the author left off after building the suspense and sexual chemistry - only to leave us hanging from a cliff.

I received an ARC from the author. I am voluntarily leaving a review.

The 1st book releases in October, and will be followed up in December with the 2nd book.

Kaia is a samurai who escaped her father who was treated as a god. She had escaped his harem refusing to be sold off to the highest bidder. Unfortunately for her Dex Draven has captured her and made a deal with her father.

Dex would host the marriage contest of five hundred competitors to fight for the Tombola crown in exchange for her father's financial support of his war against Zorin, the man who had killed his tyrannical, sociopathic father in his sleep.

I love this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed. This is a MMMF romance so if this isn't your kind of thing, you have been warned.

I don't usually read sci-fi romance, but I was pulled into this intergalactic love story from page one. This book is action-packed, full of danger and suspense and smoking hot. Three men who want to possess Kaia. All enemies.

Highly recommend this book and can't wait to read next book in this trilogy!

Holllllyyyyy bleeeeeeeeeeeeepppp . . .

The chemistry between these 4 . . . wow. I wouldn't actually call this a reverse-harem. Its poly because everyone is attracted to everyone in this. Like full up MM going on and I LOVE IT.

There were some plot holes, but honestly I'm here for the relationship development. Everything else is background noise.
