When Levi decided to get a drink at his favorite bar, he never imagined he’d run into the one girl he never forgot. The one who ran out on him ten years ago. The one he gave his heart to and lost in the same night. But now that she’s back? He’s determined to keep her—even if that means lying to her about who he really is.
The odds are stacked against them, but nothing can stop the pull of fated mates. Can Levi keep his secrets hidden long enough to gain Aubrey’s trust again? Or will the lies tear them apart?

Heather MacKinnon is a USA Today best-selling romance author living in North Carolina with her husband, adorable son, and three trouble making dogs. She grew up on Long Island and spent her young adult years living in various states in New England. This led to her subsequent addiction to Dunkin’ Donuts lattes and her gratuitous use of the word “wicked”. After a lifetime of enjoying other people’s words, she decided to write down some of her own.

Aubrey wasn't expecting her to be back in the pack that kicked them out. Aubrey decides to make a pitstop before getting to her mother, she runs into her first love. Aubrey thought things were crazy before, she in for a rollercoaster ride.
Aubrey was first introduced in The Southern Werewolves book, so great to see this character in-depth. This book really does pull you in with Aubrey as you find out more of her past and also what is happening. The author has written a story that will keep you reading until the end of the book. It left me wanting more. Aubrey is a character that can have a have her own long term series. I highly recommend reading this.
Redeem is the fourth book in the Southern Werewolf Series. Aubrey is a wolf shifter who lives with her brother in a pack. She is restless and very unhappy with the situation she found herself in…a human male she was seeing duped her…and now she just wanted to getaway! Her family history was filled with abuse…but hopefully, with her reuniting with her mom things will change. On her way back to her original pack, she runs into Levi, her first for everything and her brother’s best friend. Levi sees her and instantly he knows…they are fated~ they end up together only he is intended to someone else to combine two strong packs~ What will he do? What will Aubrey do when she finds out? What will happen when the intended find out? This book is a fast-paced read that will hold your attention to the end!
This book needs another pass through editing as there are basic spelling, grammatical, and syntax errors. The story and characterizations are all over the place as there is significantly more focus on sexual situations than the tissue paper-thin plot. There is the potential for a good story and/or interesting characters, but the author never develops any of it. At one point, the author posits that Aubrey’s mother is so dull witted that when Aubrey mentions that she is seeing a man named Levi, she doesn’t make the connection that her daughter’s teenage boyfriend who lived next door for 16 years was also named Levi, or that the name of the pack Alpha is also Levi, even though she is catering a party for him the next day.
Okay wow. Where do I even start with this book? Heather MacKinnon has done it yet again. In this story, we follow the lives of Aubrey and Levi and their journey of love. When we first met Aubrey in the original Southern Werewolves series, she was just an annoying side character. Aubrey was someone I honestly never gave a second thought about. But with this book, she is the main character and Heather makes us fall in love with Aubrey and all of her faults. Pieces of the puzzle that make up Aubrey finally become clear and you find yourself rooting for her and Levi. I honestly cannot wait until the next book comes out. Heather leaves us with a cliffhanger, of course, and so I cannot wait to see what happens next for these two and the other characters in this story.
4 stars for Redeem: A Southern Werewolves Novella by Heather MacKinnon. We first meet Aubrey back in the Southern Werewolves books. I will say I have been waiting to hear her story and I am so happy it is finally here. Aubrey is on a roller coaster of a journey that is for sure. She is back at the pack that kicked her and her mother out. However, everything is not as it seems. I love the way that Heather MacKinnon writes and brings about all the emotions. This is book and the whole series is a must read. One of my favorite series.
I hate writing harsh reviews on books but honestly this was disappointing from start to finish. It was obvious early on as to what was going to go wrong between Aubrey and Levi…. Long buildup which lead to finding out and fast resolution in about two chapters flat - which I was almost ok with. EXCEPT. Moderate cliff hanger in the final chapter, which isn’t resolved in the book. But then IT IS, by ONE LINE in the second epilogue. (And let’s be honest the first epilogue was pointless). Two hours of my life I won’t get back….. _sigh_
As always, it's a pleasure to read a new book by Heather. In this short, sweet, slightly bumpy read, we have Aubrey and Levi. I love fated mates stories, there's something so special about having such an incredible connection to someone that is meant only for you. Pack politics almost got in the way of this, Levi being intended for another was so not cool, but don't worry, because in the end fate always wins.
Mackinnon has a way of story telling that pushes other authors out of the water! The characters steal your heart and hold on. Don't miss this epic story!! I originally found this story in the short story series but can't wait to read it again as a stand alone!
I really love LIam and Aubrey’s story. This is how a love story should go. I loved that they had some bumps in the road to get past. Very well written and once I started I couldn’t put it down.
Love heathers writing. Always has the right amount of spice 🔥 and a good plot to follow. If you like shifters, mates, and a good story line then read this
This is the 1st book I read by Heather MacKinnon. This book's storyline was okay. I liked the hot 🔥 & steamy scenes. Aubrey's character was okay. Levi's character was okay. I didn't like the ending.
