The Adventures of Wilbur, a Part-time Farm Cat is the tale of a brave feline who is also smart, athletic, regal, and kind. He is the very definition of the term "farm cat."
Kitty loving kids will enjoy this exciting and heartwarming tale that will surely make them chuckle! They will recognize this cat's attitude of superiority, his amusing antics, and loveable ways.
Bravery, the importance of kindness, and making new friends are strong themes; perfect for kids discovering who they are.

Jan Crossen is a gold level Mom's Choice Award winning author who became an avid reader when her teacher, Mrs. Sarah Blower, read Charlotte's Web, to her fourth grade class in Athens, Ohio. From then on, she was hooked on books!
Jan began writing stories after she won the Tall Tale Tellers Contest in Mrs. Blower's class. Oh, how Jan wishes she could tell her teacher what a powerful, positive influence she was on her young student!
Today, Jan writes stories about people and animals who have touched her own heart and life. Her books, FOREVER, and They Call Me CAT, were inspired by her adopted son, Joshua.
The rest of the books on her author shelf were inspired by animals she has lived with and loved. Jan is happily married and lives on a small farm, on an island, in rural Washington state.
I just read Jan Crossen’s Children’s book “The Adventures of Wilbur”, and then listened to it on audible. I was very excited about both. The audible was so great to hear imagining a young child being able to listen to a book and learn to “read” this way. It’s a great tool for parents! They can put it in in the car or while cooking. Jan is a storyteller and so wonderfully talented at it, because she is both entertaining and educational. The illustrations are so crisp and beautiful!! I loved the farm aspect, of course. Teaching children to love animals and care for them is so cool! Jan melted my heart with Wilbur! I was almost emotional. She warns kids of dangers that can be found, and I think this so important. She does it in a way without scaring children. I loved Wilbur!! These books would be great in school libraries and I think parents should have both, the book and the audible!
No matter how young or old you are. Wilbur has a lesson or a reminder for you. This well written book is for remembering all the love and good things that you have had in your life. Choose Love!
I appreciate that this author writes her books so they are age group appropriate. Her books are based on her own time growing up. The 3 YO in my life really liked this book.
