Florist Daisy is loved-up and blossoming. Boyfriend Dominic has proposed marriage!
However, Dominic isn’t in any rush to buy a ring, and meeting the parents is looong overdue. What is the problem? After all, Daisy’s mum has already bought her big hat and wants to know the wedding date!
Then careless words plant seeds of doubt and, like weed, Daisy’s concerns begin to multiply. Is Dominic hiding something?
Meanwhile, sexy ex Harry is back on the scene and begging Daisy for a reconciliation. He thought the grass was greener with HER but now says he made a mistake. Is Harry – for once – being genuine, or simply leading Daisy up the garden path?
New neighbour Seth seems like a fun guy, but a single throwaway comment has Daisy mimicking a species of Calla Lily – Red Alert! It’s time to do some digging. But even she never anticipated a mad car chase across London or unearthing a shocking secret that changes everything.
My husband went off with HER. I can’t name HER but to give you a clue she has knockers the size of sunflowers and butt cheeks bigger than a ball cactus.
Seth blasted us both with a smile that threatened to singe my eyelashes and had Becky behaving like my ex-mother-in-law’s dog when it had cornered a squirrel.
Sometimes, if there was a lull at work, Becky and I played the “what if” game. What if the human population was extinct save for four people. Yours truly and Becky, and you had to populate Earth with the next two men who came into the shop. The rule was you had to choose one of them. On one occasion Becky and I had argued fiercely over who was bagging eighty-year-old Mr Harris against ninety-two-year-old Mr Payne who never wore dentures. The game had become quite heated… We’d eventually admitted defeat and agreed that, on this occasion, planet Earth would fail to be repopulated.
‘Well it wasn’t tiddlywinks we were playing last night, Daisy,’ she chortled. ‘And he definitely doesn’t have a tiddly wink.’
‘None of the other whatsits I’ve ever dated have been like Alfie.’ She paused to consider. ‘They were like the tide. Went out and never came back.’
My Review:
I giggle-snorted, chortled, and laughed aloud as I perused this cleverly amusing missive featuring the adorable, gentle, and rather hapless Daisy. Daisy had niggles about her fiancé and although she wanted to live in the land of denial, her waspish inner voice kept harping at her for being such a jellyfish. The snark was as humorous as it was insightfully keen. I wanted to give Daisy a few good bumps with my elbow to dislodge her cranium from her colon but she finally snapped to and being a gentle soul, took only a mild form of revenge. Being of the Lorena Bobbitt philosophy of vengeance myself, I was a bit outraged by her choice to desecrate innocent cheesecake, but that is neither here nor there.
The next-door neighbor gives her fireworks. Her fiancé gives her excuses. Her ex-husband gives her heartburn. And her inner voice gives her the best advice. Namely, dump the fiancé and shag the neighbor. But that’s not who Daisy is, she’s the nice girl with a big heart who wants marriage and a happy family. Until nagging doubts start creeping in and she goes all Jane Pond to get some answers.
Daisy has come a long way after her ex-husband, Harry, divorced her to be with another woman. She is now happy again with her successful business as a florist and her new fiance, Dominic. However, Dominic travels a lot for his job, and being together is difficult. To pass the time, she becomes friends with her new artist neighbor Seth who gives her tingles each time he brushes up against her. But Daisy is true to Dominic and suggests her best friend, Becky, give him a look-see. Until Becky meets someone more to her liking knowing that Daisy and Seth have a connection. When Dominic’s behavior starts to open Daisy’s eyes, she does a little sleuthing to uncover a nasty truth and gets her just revenge. Seth is a good guy who offers his help and advice to Daisy when she needs it most. He’s nonjudgmental and he clearly respects the boundaries she sets as she pours out her heart about her relationship with Dominic. Becky is a hoot and evoked a chuckle from me every time she spoke. Her straight talk with Daisy is needed but could be delivered in a kinder tone sometimes. As for Dominic, Daisy uncovers a shocking secret about him from an unlikely clue.
I recommend this hilarious romantic comedy with a diverse group of quirky characters and a realistic plot where the heroine works through her “dilemma” and makes her own happy ending.
Thank you to Ms. Viggiano for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
If you enjoy reading romcoms, make sure you get to read this one!
Daisy is a florist, able to pick the best blooms and create beautiful floral arrangements but her luck with men is more questionable. She’s divorced from her ex-husband after catching him being unfaithful and now her fiancé, Dominic, seems to be acting somewhat suspiciously – though she’s making excuses for him. However, her inner dialogue is having arguments about whether she should confront him or just trust him. That’s when her ex-husband turns up to endeavour to woo her back, even proposing they have a sunny island second wedding! Oh, and the new neighbour, Seth, has Daisy tingling and blushing – but she’s not sure why! With these three men, her life is one huge dilemma. Add in her bestie teasing her, more clues to cloud things and a dramatic car chase and you’ve got one brilliant, hilarious read!
This story had me giggling out loud – especially when Daisy has one of her internal monologues and isn’t quite sure if she’s actually voiced her thoughts out loud or not. There are some potentially heartbreaking moments, but the author adds a superb sense of humour to the drama. I particularly liked the events in Islington but I’m not sharing what happens there – if you read the book, let me know if you enjoyed them, too! If you want a story to help you escape what’s been happening in the world and to put a smile on your face, grab yourself a copy of this fun book and get reading!
Thank you for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed.
This romcom sweeps you along. It is warm and witty with some genuinely funny moments. You get the feeling from early on that all is not as it should be with Daisy's partner. It seems that quite a few people have their doubts and you feel as if you are part of their number. Only Daisy is hoping for the best... I particularly enjoyed Daisy's internal monologues as she tried to push her doubts to the back of her mind and loved the heart in her mouth moments when she feared she may have voiced her true thoughts. Trust is pretty high on the agenda in this story. Unfortunately, Daisy is just not sure of certain people. There are misunderstandings, misconceptions and missed opportunities in her life as she struggles to make sense of people's motives. Still, I found it a fun read with some lively characters and plenty of humour. In short: Dominic, Harry or Seth... who to trust? Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book
Daisy is a florist who loves creating flower masterpieces in the form of bouquets and different flower arrangements.
She is not lucky with men and has problems with every man that comes into her life.
Not to give much away as the synopsis speaks for itself but I did find this laid-back with laugh-out-loud moments. I unfortunately found it slow in some parts.
It's the first book by Debbie Viggiano I have reviewed.
Thanks to Debbie Viggiano, Rachel's Random Resources and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
Daisy is a 35-year-old owner of her own floral shop called Daisy’s Blooms in a quiet village outside of London. She works with her best friend Becky, who was a very entertaining character and I am glad that the reader learned more about her throughout the story. It did make me envious of both Daisy and Becky that they are best friends that get to work together as I would love to work with my best friend every day, if we were even in the same industry. She used to be married to Harry, but soon discovered that he was cheating on her after six months of marriage. Through this incident, she had a hard time trusting others again until Dominic came along. Even though he is five years her junior, she is excited that he proposed and cannot wait to get married again. Well, things might not be as great as she thinks as potential cracks in the relationship begin to show.
As the synopsis highlights Daisy’s dilemma of who to trust, I liked that this story included an additional dilemma that I did not see coming at the very beginning of the story. It is interesting to see Daisy’s thought process in that moment and the decision she ultimately made. (I cannot fully discuss it, though, as it would spoil part of the story.) Even though Dominic proposed, Daisy still does not have a ring and she has not even met his parents. Dominic is also gone a lot for his job, which means that he is not around a lot to discuss the wedding. Things also are not helped when Daisy’s ex-husband, Harry reenters the picture and seems to want her back; even though he is currently together with the woman, he cheated on Daisy with. On top of everything, Daisy’s new neighbor Seth moves in and seems to be interested in her.
Even though there seems to be three different men interested in Daisy, it is not a typical love square story where it is Daisy choosing between her three suitors. Instead, the author keeps the focus on Daisy herself as she works through the trust issues that came from her time with Harry. Ultimately, she does make a decision between the three, but I liked how naturally it was done, as it did not seem forced or a decision out of character.
Automatically, I knew I did not like Dominic or Harry. Although some people may not mind it, I am not a fan of someone immediately hanging up the phone when I enter the room. To me, that would be enough of a red flag that things are not right. An immediate conversation would take place between us. However, all people are different, so this might not be the case with everyone. Harry cheated on Daisy, so I immediately had no interest in Daisy reconciling with him. Seth did not seem bad, but based on the other two men; I was constantly anticipating that something would come up for him. Even though I had my own preferences, ultimately I rooted for Daisy and just wanted the character to be happy. It was a great job on the part of the author as I, as a reader, cared for Daisy and wanted a nice happy ending for her character, even if I potentially would not agree with her choice.
I have not read any novels by Debbie Viggiano, but I loved her writing style as it was engaging and enjoyable, so I will definitely have to check out any and all other novels. There were a lot of humor written into the story and Daisy’s inner monologue was very entertaining. Based on her past, her thought process is now a little more skeptical, but she still is full of hope and just wants the best. She has a lot going on in her mind at all times and sometimes says things she does not mean to out loud and chooses to keep other things to herself. The cast of characters that you love and hate were a great mix and were all well written. This is an excellent story to read in an afternoon as it keeps you interested from start to finish! [4.25 Rating]
**I give a special thank you to Rachel @rararesources and the author, Debbie Viggiano, for the opportunity to participate with this excellent and heartwarming novel. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.**
At the beginning of this book we meet Daisy who is recovering from a divorce which is the result of her husband having an affair with his best man’s sister. He’s still with her and seemingly has moved on and so has she, with her new fiancé Dominic. She feels that life is finally starting to work out for her even though there are some niggling doubts when it comes to Dominic. There are certain things about him which just don’t add up but Daisy does her very best to ignore that inner voice that tells her he isn’t what he seems.
One day she notices that the previously vacant cottage next door to hers has a new owner, the handsome Seth who quickly makes an impression on both Daisy and her best friend and colleague, Beth. Under the impression that Becky is interested in him she sees him as nothing but a new friend, however she can’t deny the sparks that fly when she’s in his company. When Harry turns up one day on her doorstep professing his undying love for her she’s gobsmacked, and there is Daisy’s dilemma: can she move past her ex-husband’s declarations of love and forgive him, will she find out whether her suspicions over Dominic turn out to be true and can she put thoughts of gorgeous Seth to the back of her mind?
I absolutely adored reading this book. It is fun, hilarious and captivating, due to the wonderful array of characters. Daisy is a likeable girl and I loved her relationship with Becky, who works with her in the florist she runs. Their friendship is lovely and they are completely different in character which is what Daisy needs sometimes as she doesn’t often realise what’s in front of her!
It was really interesting to find out that the inspiration for the character of Dominic came from the life of the author’s great aunt and it was eye opening to find out that men like him exist! I really wanted Daisy to work out that she was only with him on the rebound from ex-husband, Harry and urged her to listen to Becky!
The internal monologues in Daisy’s mind were hilarious as she struggles to work out how best to deal with her situation.
This book is delightful and fun and I adored how it ended for Daisy and how she worked through her ‘dilemma’. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Daisy is currently living her perfect life, after coming through a particularly difficult breakup with her husband Harry. She runs her own perfect little florist shop, and she is engaged to the wonderful Dominic. Even the fact that he hasn't yet bought her ring, or that she hasn't met his mother yet can bring her down. However knowing that her best friend Becky is less than keen on Dominic, and with a few comments making her start to doubt him, is her relationship with Dominic as perfect as she thought? Throw in an ex-husband who is now convinced that he made a mistake leaving her, and a new gorgeous neighbour moving in next door, Daisy's life has gone from perfect to complicated in seconds!
There are no surprises in this novel but please don't see that as a bad thing. Sometimes a novel just works for us due to the lack of surprises...it provides comfort and ease of reading! Which is exactly what Debbie Viggiano provides us with in this novel, Daisy's Dilemma. Daisy and Becky are a great duo - wonderfully different as characters, but they just compliment each other beautifully. Daisy does of course have her rose tinted glasses on when it comes to Dominic which in a novel can sometimes come across as a little annoying - I'm pleased to confirm though that this is not the case in this novel. Instead, it is clear that the pain her ex-husband Harry caused her just makes Daisy want to be loved. She loves Dominic, and so she is a little blinkered when it comes to him. However the arrival of her new neighbour Seth gives her all the feels, and forces her to see the cracks in her relationship with Dominic, even if she doesn't really want to.
This is a great novel from Debbie Viggiano - it's a nice easy read that is perfect for those summer days ahead of us. The characters are fun and relatable (I'm a big fan of best friend Becky), and the story is a good one. Naturally we get a nice dose of romance thrown in, but rather than all-encompassing romance, it's more of a sweet slow burner. I really enjoyed this novel, and I am more than happy to recommend it to you all. So please, go and grab yourself a copy!
I was looking forward to reading this book since I loved the author’s writing style from the two books by her I had read previously. (And even if you haven’t read any, won’t that beautiful cover draw you to read the book? 🙂 ).
While Daisy was recovering from the number her ex, Harry, did on her, she meets Dominic who walks into her lovely flower shop to buy a bouquet. Things move really fast between them, he moves with her and now she finds herself engaged. While to the reader, Dominic seems a little fishy, Daisy is looking forward to an engagement ring, marriage and hoping to change his mind about having a baby! While Dominic is away on one of his many business trips, Daisy finds that she has a knockout new neighbour, who she can’t help but being drawn too. Will Daisy go ahead with her wedding to Dominic or will she find love again? Or will she take back Harry, who seems to be regretting cheating on her and divorcing her?
You’ll love the character of Daisy and also her adventurous friend, Becky. Their conversations are full of fun. While Daisy’s internal monologue is quite hilarious, it also shows her self-doubt and her longing to have a good relationship.
A very enjoyable read, with very relatable characters, romance and a lot of laughs.
Are you having a gloomy day, read a book by this author. If you are having a happy day, read a book by this author. On a rainy or sunny day, on the beach or at home, you can never do wrong with a book by this author. If you are sad, she will make you laugh. If you are happy, she will make you even laugh harder. In a nutshell, whatever mood you are in, these books are just must reads, because they are utterly hilarious.
When you are in love, you see everything through rose tinted glasses. The world is your oyster and every day is filled with sunshine and hearts. But when there seem to appear smudges on the glasses. It it time to simply clean them or do you need to look into it more deeply? You start adding one and one and come up with three and as the saying goes: two is company, but three is a crowd…
Revenge is on the top of your list, but who will be on the receiving end? After a short deliberation, there is only one answer to that question and it will be stickily sweet.
If you have never read a story by this author, you really really should try one. 5 stars
Thank you, Debbie Viggiano and Rachel’s Random Resources
Where do I even start with this? I devoured this book in the majority of a day. This was just what I needed… A feel good and laugh out loud funny read. Gave me very similar vibes to Bridget Jones. It had me smiling throughout. Daisy is such a funny character I felt like she was a friend. She has an ex husband. Her current fiance & the hot new neighbour who’s just moved in. She’s surrounded by men but which way will she go? Who will she choose? I loved how she had conversations with herself throughout and doesn’t mind a good drink or three. Her bestie is heavily involved too helping her run Daisys flower business. The best part had to be when she went into full spy mode & then the ending ofcourse. Beautiful. I loved it all! Highly recommend. The perfect rom-com. A full five stars from me. This is the first book I have read by this author & I am looking forward to reading more after this. Brilliantly written. Easy to devour. Will remember this story for a long time.
Florist Daisy is newly engaged to Dominic a travelling salesman who's away all the time. It's been a whirlwind, but Daisy's finally put her cheating ex-husband Harry behind her. Then gorgeous Seth moves in next door, and Daisy feels something totally different that she tries to push away.
With her best friend and employee Becky permanently searching for love; she's there to help Daisy navigate through her confusion of still not having met Dominic's mum and other weird happenings. What is actually best for Daisy and her relationship. And how can she stop being attracted to Seth.
Daisy eventually goes on a madcap spy mission and finally gets her answers.
This book made me laugh out loud a lot. But Daisy also frustrated me. Why her friend didn't come out with her suspicions earlier, and how Daisy didn't work out what was going on from the start, I don't know. It was pretty obvious. But you're rooting for things to go better for Daisy, and for her to get her happy ending.
An engrossing read with lots of clues. Daisy seems to be living in cloud cuckoo land and accepts her fiancé’s excuses without any real challenge. Dodgy Dominic doesn’t get on with Bestie Becky which should ring huge alarm bells.
The relationship seems a bit false but this really exposed when Sexy Seth moves in next door.
The title doesn’t really work as there’s not much of a dilemma here… more of a voice in her head telling her off…
An enjoyable read but felt very rushed when it came to its conclusion… 4*

I have read several of Debbie Viggianos books and usually enjoy them, but was a little disappointed with this! Found the story of Daisy a little tedious and slightly unbelievable. She was far too naive and trusting in this day and age and thus I felt quite frustrated reading it.
Somewhat too much discussion of people’s private parts and the odd description of sexual scenes ruined it for me. I moved it up to 3 stars as it moved away from all that by about the middle of the book and started to get interesting. The end was pretty good too and I did find the odd part funny.
I have only started reading Debbie Viggiano’s books, but I’m so hooked!! She has a delightful way of writing!! If I’m in a bad mood, all I have to do is start reading one of her books and all my troubles are gone!! I’m so very thankful I found her books!!!
Romantic comedy at its best. Witty humour, relatable characters, real life situations told from a very ironic point of view. All this and much more in yet another amazing story by the very talented Debbie Viggiano. She is the queen of romantic comedy and I can't recommend her books enough.
A bit of a slow start but eventually reels you right in. Not quite the discovery for Daisy that I was expecting! I would’ve liked Cindy Parker to have been told everything and not to be left in the dark. The impromptu “adventure” was very gripping.
Loved this book and as always loved the characters. Mrs Viggiano never disappoints and I look forward to catching up with the other books I have waiting on my kindle. Thank you
