Fun, sexy mexy, plenty of action and yes at times tears.
This is by far the best series and the offspring series I have read this year.
The complex threads that Giulia weaves her stories, and her characters keeps you coming back for more. You will be riveted to the pages and find that hours have passed by the time you manage to pull yourself away.
You will laugh your arse off when you are not sweating through the action.
Reed Security Series - Box 6 - Books 16 - 18 - By - Giulia Lagomarsino
Book 16 - Phoenix Rising - Reed Security Series
Phoenix Rising is the sixteenth book in this incredible series and it was outstanding and just what we needed now as the family of Reed Security come together to heal and rebuild to become harder, stronger and smarter after the devasting events of the previous books and take the company and their families on their new journey of starting over to rise like a phoenix from the ashes of the devastation left behind. This story was extremely well written, thought out, developed and put together as the story moving forward was told from multiple characters perspectives as they each dealt with the fallout of what had happened and a use for all of Chance's extra hypoallergenic pillows and bedding. We had the brutal heartache of Morgan and Chance healing after their year of being held away from everyone. Chance suffering from panic attacks, flashbacks, PTSD, alcoholism suicidal thoughts. Whilst Morgan dealt with her own demons as they tried to help themselves heal and find a way back to each other. We have new characters coming in such as Storm Hart who has hinted at a difficult past so lots more to discover about him. Daniel "Coop" Cooper and his daughter Kayla. He is on a mission after what he suffered helping Vanessa in Cazzo's story earlier in the series and hopefully a side mission with Becky fingers crossed so lots more to explore as he hangs around and joins the family. Freckles finds more trouble and along with it Tony "Tacos" Russo who is also joining the family, not much we know about him yet but when Maggie needed him he was there so more to explore there too hopefully. The company is growing and even though it is employee run none of them want the paperwork or meetings which were hilarious along with their rebuild requests for the building. The wives are starting their own business and getting into a tricky situation which then leads to a gun fight. It was brilliant to see them hilariously take control, defend themselves and recruit Carl. Cara really came into her own it was great. Claire and Derek embracing their fantasies and getting mixed up with the Russian Mafia as only Claire could. Vigilante pensioners keeping the boys on their toes. Ice, Hunter, Burg and Gabe still trying to heal from their injuries and get back to work and the emotional impact of not being with their teams has on them. Hopefully we will see a bit more of Craig now as he sets his sights on Reese. Rocco gets a beautiful surprise that changes everything for him. Hunter being a jackass and getting all the guys on baby duty and Knight being himself in every delicious way. Also whilst protecting his found family as only he can. Its a thing of beauty. It is also great seeing Jackson's in laws joining the Reed family too. Overall there is still action and drama, all the emotions and spice along with love, lots of laughter and hope. This family truly loves each other and will never leave anyone behind. A great addition to an enthralling series that I simply cannot get enough of. I highly recommend that all books within this series are read in order to fully appreciate the characters and storylines. Happy Reading. 5 out of 5 stars.
Book 17 - Alec - Reed Security Series
Alec is book seventeen in this addictive series that features around Florence "Florrie" Younge and Alec Wesley. They are on the same team and work alongside Craig. Florrie and Alec initially started seeing each other three years ago but kept their relationship hidden from everyone at Reed. Florrie thought she was sharing a purely physical relationship with Alec but every day he was falling deeper and deeper for her. We go back to the beginning of their relationship and how they came to be together, right the way through, up to the present day. It is a beautiful story packed with so many emotions. Alec is overbearing, obsessive and possessive no doubt about it and at times forgets what a capable woman Florrie actually is. However, he truly loves Florrie wholeheartedly and his declaration of what love feels like is simply beautiful in every way. Florrie on the other hand is not familiar with what love is, she doesn't understand her feelings and at times acts selfishly towards Alec by lying and being secretive. She continues to push him away yet also pulls him deeper, their relationship is complicated but truly special as together and of course with the help of the Reed family they figure out what they truly want and fight to get it. Whilst still being in explosive, actioned packed moments along the way, super sexy and hot moments that they and the reader become lost in, they also endure emotional moments that show pain, anguish and grief. Its heartbreaking but adds so much depth to the characters and the story. All whilst balanced by humour that gives us laugh out loud antics that only this group could get themselves into and pull off. I adored the guys enjoying spa treatments that was priceless! I also hope Craig finds some happiness he is definitely due some loving. I really do not want this series to end it is absolutely brilliant. Thank you Giulia for giving us such amazing stories and characters to enjoy and always something different that stays with you as a reader long after the book has been read. I can't wait to see who falls next! Happy Reading. 5 out of 5 stars.
Book 18 - Storm - Reed Security Series
Storm is the eighteenth book in the outstanding Reed Security Series and it is absolutely brilliant. The story features around Jessica Finley and Nick Storm Thunders Hart. Storm joined up with Reed security about a year earlier and helped them when Morgan was taken and fought side by side with them ever since. He is now a permanant part of the crew and on a new team with Coop and Tony Tacos. This story was again totally different from all the others in the series which is refreshing. Its starts from Ruth, Jessica's Grandmother's point of view and what happens to her is truly heartbreaking. Its sets the scene for all the drama and intriguing storylines that unfold as the story progresses. Jessica is searching in to her family history and wants answers but never thinks it could actually put her life in danger as she searches for the truth. When Cap let's the single guys know they need to woo a woman to help secure some property that she owns so that she will hopefully sell to Reed security none of them seem thrilled until they see her. She is a real knock out yhe image of Jessica Rabbit and also a woman who haunts Storm's dreams since the night she left him standing at a bar. This sparks a competition between the guys especially Storm and Tony Tacos but Storm is determined to be victorious whatever happens. His pick up lines are laugh out loud good and he really shows a side to himself that we have not seen so far, he is a lot different to how I expected him to be written. He is fun and humorous but also carries a guilt and hurt from his time at war that shows yet another side, almost a vulnerability to him, he was so well written. Jessica is also different from the other ladies we have seen before. She is searching for the truth and taking things as they come with Storm it isn't all lovey dovey but you can tell they have a connection. The emotions are there and as the story progresses the tensions rise as the twists and turns become known. It was such a different plot line even if a bit spooky at times. However we still have the banter and camaraderie of the guys and girls of Reed Security to keep us entertained with their shenanigans and balance out the darker sides of the story. I loved the women giving Storm advice then the guys trying to fix it. The guys ghost hunting was laugh out loud goodness. Sinner is everything!Overall this was another great addition to a really enjoyable series packed with lovable characters and engaging plot lines, spicy scenes and humour. I cannot express how much I truly love this series. I do suggest to fully enjoy this series that you read the books in order. Happy Reading. 5 out of 5 stars
Phoenix Rising Talk about a good hearted book. Cap is on a mission. The men need to come together again. After everything that has happened, the men of Reed Security need their strength again. They need to come together for one another and become what the once were. With most of the men injured, or out for the time being, the men need to rise above the flames and become who they once were if they're gonna make it out of this. They need to rebuild, and take back what was once theirs. This is a great story that brings the team and Reed families all back together.
Alec He's had a thing for Florrie for a long time. They've hid their relationship from everyone at Reed for a reason. They've seen what those men do and say. They've been there to witness the BS that spews from their mouths like word vomit. Florrie doesn't want to out their relationship. But when it happens, it's Craig who feels the brunt of it. He's on their team, and had no clue. Now that everything is out in the open, they have to fight for their relationship, and when a young boy holds Florrie up at knifepoint, they take him in, because he needs help. It takes everything they have to get this kid to open up, and when they actually find out who this kid is, Knight takes it upon himself to take care of certain situations, which only leads to bigger problems down the road.
Storm Not an OG of REED, but he's stuck like glue. He's been there helping Craig out, and Chance when things got rough. Now, he's in his own mess with Jessica. The woman after her family history when she buys the town insane asylum. With spirits, and past that will haunt just anyone, Jessica is determine to find out the past that got her mother and grandma locked up in such a place. Storm had one job, and that was to get her to sell her property to Reed, but he got way more than he bargained for with Jessica, and he just has to prove to her that he's there for her.
The first book gave insight on how Cap and the men of Reed Security had to pull back together after having to hide for a year. It also gave Chance and Morgan time to look at themselves and make decisions about their lives, The second book revolves around Alex and Florrie who are 2/3 of a team. Their dangerous jobs and how Alex reacts causes many problems along with Florrie’s incidents that they keep their relationship quiet. The third book brings in the supernatural, ghost and haunted. Storm doesn’t believe in any of that but is trying to help Jessica, who does. She is searching for the answers to both her grandmother and mother’s deaths in an asylum . With her large inheritance she has bought the asylum where her mother was sent and died from “suicide”. This property is one that Reed Security would like to have to help with their rebuilding. There are people who do not want the truth to come out. There are also some very strange, unexplainable things going on in the house. Storm has been “assigned” to befriend her and encourage her to sell it to Reed Security. Storm and Jessica find that they” might “ just have feelings for each other, even after a pretty bad start.
Great reads - books 16-18 I have read all of the books in this series, one after the other. I have laughed till my sides were sore and often cried too. The backstories are brilliantly thought out and explain why these alpha males and super-alpha females are together. With the addition of the children and the extended families and friends - the suspense is well done and it is so obvious there is never going to be a happy ending for anyone who seeks to take on Reed Security.
GLs writing is fab. She's thorough without being overly wordy. The characters are engaging and totally reel you in to loving them like the crazy family they are. These are people id be happy to call my Tribe. The humor, tho!🤣 thr spa scene, the hot tub and so on...I was sounded like a dying gopher laughing. The tension in some part is def elevated with her well place hysterics of the men and their banter and diatribes. Her series books are one that I wish wouldn't end.
Alot laughs with the Storm series but Jessica finally can be at piece with her life, fine happiness with Storm. Phoenix Rising was very strong book,I almost felt bad for Cap he had so much going on with the men and women and baby's trying to keep the business running its a wonder he didn't give up but he was strong! The Alec part of book was good ,strong.Well written.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this series. These men are swoon worthy and wonderful. They are fierce protectors and total goofballs when it comes to women. I laughed so hard at the 3rd book in this set, that my family was asking me to read out loud. This was very entertaining and I can't wait to keep reading.
It was getting a little tense there for a minute - This series is kick was - it's not for wimps! I'd say 18+ just to be on the "safe" side. I truly have skipped some parts because I couldn't deal with it. On to the next box... Thank you for your time, talent AND THE STORIES!
Phoenix rising was beautifully written, all characters mentioned progressed the story naturally! Honestly I wasn't a Florrie fan I found her very self centered. But finishing off with Storm/ Thunders/ Nick was amazing. Because he'll feed you his carrot. . Lmao!!
This boxed set had more drama but it had a lot of funny interactions between the guys and the women that they love to hate. There was some very dramatic jobs they did that really had you mesmerized but each was well worth the read
With the previous ones being all action and romance the humour in this box set had me laughing out loud. A great addition to the series. Another man bites the dust😂 😘
