I'm half-siren and all single. No way am I giving up my freedom for some delusional furball.
Even if he's kind of cute. And considerate. And has warm eyes.
Besides, I have enough going on with running my retro rock club. And when an unexpected relative shows up there one night, it shakes me to the core.
The last thing I need is to add another complication to my life, especially something as mundane as monogamy.
Fans of New Girl and What We Do in the Shadows will love the Salem Supernaturals series - paranormal chick lit romances with a splash of romance, comedy, and mystery!
USA Today bestselling author Lisa Carlisle loves stories with dark, brooding heroes or quirky outcasts. Her romances have been named Top Picks at Night Owl Reviews and The Romance Reviews.
When she was younger, she worked in a variety of jobs, moving to various countries. She was stationed in Okinawa while in the Marines, backpacked alone through Europe, and worked in Paris before returning to the U.S. She owned a bookstore for a few years as she loves to read. She’s married with two kids, two cats, and too many fish.
This second book in this series was one I couldn't put down, It was such a wonderfully fun read. I really liked both the main characters and thought that the chemistry and heat they shared was so well done. Gianna and Sebastian are perfect for each other but she's no pushover and convincing her of that fact isn't easy despite their shared connection. I especially liked Sebastian he was hot, sexy, strong and in my opinion irrisible because of his sweetness in short all you could ask for in a mate.
Their story is both funny and entertaining with plenty of drama, mystery and a dash of humour and snarkiness mixed together to form what I think was a delightfully funny yet sometimes thoughtful story.
A great cute romantic story with two unlikely mates. Great back story on Gianna and Sebastian. Boy the evil doers have just begun in this power hungry story. What's happening in this series next? I can't wait to read the next book of this series to find out.
Sebastian and his roommates go to Nova's friend Gianna's club, Gianna is a Siren and she has no desire to be with just one man but when Sebastian sees her and is introduced he goes off the deep end and makes a fool of himself but Gianna just ignores him while her friend is apologizing for her roommate's behavior. Sebastian has found his fated mate he never believed when he was told the stories as a child but after meeting Gianna his wolf left him no doubt that she was the one and only. Gianna wasn't having any of it and she let him know that she was willing to play but not get serious eventually she agrees to a monogamous relationship for the time. Gianna's mother comes to town on New Year's eve it's been 25 years and wants to spend time with her daughter she says. Gianna isn't sure of what to think, her mother is asking a lot of questions about her best friend instead of trying to get to know her daughter. Her father said she could not trust anything her mother says but she doesn't believe her mother would be so, She fights with Sebastian and goes to stay with her mother for a while there is something strange going on when she asks questions but doesn't get any real answers. The storyline and the characters very interesting. Suspense, romance, violence, and love. I read an ARC via BookFunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.
So I read the first book and absolutely loved it and when I heard book two was coming out, well I jumped at the chance to read it and it was every bit as exciting and enjoyable as the first! This is Gianna and Sebastian’s story and it’s fantastic and fun as well as very hot and sexy. There’s also drama, family issues, friendship, board games and a whole lot of betrayal. Who would have thought a half siren and a werewolf would be friends let alone mates? This had me howling in places and yep I even shed a few tears as well. Another fantabulous read from this author!
With her Siren half, she had needs but a relationship with a shifter was not one of them. Not that he wasn't hot and could cook, and lots more but she didn't do relationships. The chemistry gets stronger. Resisting gets harder. Okay so maybe once, or twice or...
He's never been drawn this way. His wolf won't stop pushing. He has to find a way to get past her resistance. When a surprise visitor enters the picture things that were starting to go his way change. His wolf and their mutual friends have concerns. Are they right?
Romance, sad history, villains, answers, friendship, intrigue, and steam galore. Another matchup and fun read from the author.
This was such a deliciously fun read. I loved the chemistry and heat that Gianna and Sebastian shared. In my opinion Sebastian was the perfect blend of hot and sweet and he gave me all of the swoon-ish vibes I could ask for. I really felt for him because while I liked Gianna, she wasn't always very kind to him. The story kept me entertained and I enjoyed the combination of emotion, humor, drama, snark and mystery that flowed across the pages. Every bit as delightful as book one (which if you have not read yet, you should because you're missing out) and I eagerly await book three. I'm electing to post a objective review.
I read the first book and while it wasn’t great it wasn’t bad either so i read the second. Waste of time. It’s literally the same exact story just a different couple. And i mean the same exact storyline. Don’t waste your time on this series. Even the writing was subpar, there’s a million authors in the genre…pick another one
Hot in Witch City We met Gianna in the first Salem Supernaturals book. Gianna is a half-siren and best friend to Nova, a witch. Nova owns a home in Salem that she shares with her vampire boyfriend Diego, a wolf shifter Sebastian and Lucas a dragon shifter. Gianna has worked hard to open her retro rock club called the Danger Zone. She makes sure everything runs smoothly. The last thing she needs is some wolf who thinks she is his mate. Sure, he is handsome, considerate, patient and can really cook but she doesn’t need exclusive. Sebastian is a dedicated chef; he loves to cook. He has recognized that Gianna is his mate. He knows and has been told that Gianna does not want a mate. Sebastian will be patient and court Gianna. Out of nowhere Gianna’s mom shows up in her bar. She has been missing for almost all of her life. She wants to show Gianna what it is to be a siren. She says she wants to get to know her daughter. Can this be true? Something does not seem to be adding up! More demons – Yikes! This was a sweet love story. Sebastian is trying so hard to win over Gianna. Despite her being a siren, she is falling for Sebastian. The part where Sebastian tries to conquer his fear of water was amazing and touching. I love all the music references. I had to stop and cue up the songs. Motley Crue, Billy Idol, Prince and the Monty Python song. This just set the scenes to make the book memorable. I am loving this series and I can’t wait to see Lucas fall. He is a sassy one.
We meet Gianna and Sebastian in book 1. Sebastian is a wolf shifter and an awesome chef. His wolf has been going crazy at a scent that has been showing up on and off in the home he shares with Lucas (dragon shifter), Diego (vampire) and Nova (who is mated to Diego). Gianna is Nova‘s best friend since they were young. Gianna owns the 80/90s club, Danger Zone. I just love the name and the theme. Gianna’s mother is a siren, so she is half and she learns a lot about herself in this book as well as what she can be and do. I love how Nova & G are always in each other’s corners, no matter what. The interactions between G and Seb are hot, romantic, and abso hilarious. OMG. I laughed so much while reading this book! So many reveals and revelations in this book as well. We also find out about Seb’s past which made me livid. There are a few scary parts in the book but there is a HEA. But in order to get there- there is mischief, mayhem and just plain crazy stuff. Lucas’ cat, Shadow is adorable, and there should be more of him in the books. Maybe a love interest for him, lol. Looks like Lucas is up next, God help the woman he ends up with, because he does not believe in settling down. I can’t wait to see what happens in his book because I know he will be singing a different tune, soon. G & Seb are perfect for each other and I want to see them have more double dates with Nova & Diego.

Hot in Witch City is the second title in the Salem Supernaturals series, and it is chock-full of fun, sexy, intriguing moments between Sebastian, a wolf-shifter chef and one of the roommates at Nova’s home… and Gianna, a half-siren, retro club owner who has no intentions of settling down with one man even when he insists that she’s his fated mate. Nope, nada, not gonna happen.
This couple is also going to face an intense threat from an unexpected source. Will Sebastian come to the rescue just in time? Or will Gianna’s rejection keep him at bay when he’s needed most?
I had fun back in Salem with this crew. We’ll move one romance along, add another, and hold out hopes for the final roommate to find his happiness… wanted or not. I love the banter between characters, the believable interactions between friends, and the love between two unlikely people is just the icing on the cake for me. If you love your romance with a touch of snark, some innuendo, and a lot of laughter then you’ll want to check out Hot in Witch City now.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Gianna is a half-siren beauty and the owner of Danger Zone, the nightclub that is home to both humans and supes. She is a committed single lady, especially after being kidnapped by a demon on a power trip not so long ago. From now on, it's one night and nothing more, but that's before she meets Sebastian. He is a wolf shifter who is convinced that Gianna is his mate. He recognized her scent as soon as he walked into the club or, should I say, his wolf recognized her and the argument they had was priceless. That wolf has no patience and Seb knows that he has to take his time. When he approaches Gianna to tell her that she is going to be his, she hesitates, but he's so gorgeous and the more she sees of him the more she likes. The chemistry they have is volcanic and Gianna can't resist, but her head gets the better of her and she pushes him away. What can it hurt to have one single night, maybe two? Okay, three, but that's it! What she doesn't expect is someone from her past to return, causing her to re-think her life and all that she has thought to be true. We learn from our mistakes, and Gianna made some doozies. With her best friend, Nova, and Sebastian at her side, along with her long-suffering father, she is able to clarify what she wants and what she needs. This is a delightful story with characters who are not only friends, they're family!
I have to go back and read Book 1 in the series and I will definitely read Book 3 once it comes out, too. In this book Gianna, the half-siren with some serious commitment issues, crosses paths with Sebastian, the pro chef wolf shifter, whose wolf has scented his mate. Well, too bad. In Gianna's eyes, Sebastian will just have to deal! The author definitely delivered on what she promised. There is some serious New Girl vibes in this book and the characters as well as the world in general are amazing. My favourite books are when you not only fall in love with the main characters, but the supporting characters as well as the whole world. And Lisa Carlisle definitely manages that. There is a balance of strength and weaknesses in each main characters that I find super realistic and engaging, very different from the usual: Look at me I am all alpha male or females. I definitely recommend reading this book and if you excuse me, I have to go read the first one now.

I'm really loving this series, humor, mystery and intrigue surround these good friends. It doesn't hurt that there's such a diverse variety of super naturals getting their game on in Witch City.
After being saved by her bff from the demon who tried to get to Nova, Gianna half siren concentrates on her club Danger Zone, what she never expected was Sebastian the quiet sweetheart of a man that is roommates with Diego and Lucas at her bff's house to go all wolf on her at her club. He claimed she was his mate! No way, no how, Gianna didn't do relationships and she was no ones mate now, or ever!
Sebastian knew he had caught a whif of something fantastic and now he knew what or rather who it was, only his wolf has gone all ballistic on him and to top it all off Gianna doesn't want him, at least not long term.
Will Gianna let her fear of a relationship, or control lose the only real good thing she has ever had. Is she just like her mother the siren who abandoned her as a baby?
I listened to this audiobook on hoopla 🎧 I absolutely loved that they had two narrators!!! Truly makes the book so much more enjoyable 🙌
This was such a quick and easy Halloween read!!! 🎃🕷️
This is the second book in the Salem Supernaturals Series and it takes off right where the first book ended! Nova and Diego rescued Gianna from a demon at the end of the first book, so this starts off at Gianna’s club Danger Zone. Nova comes into Gianna’s club with her 3 supernatural tenants- her vampire boyfriend Diego, Lucas the dragon shifter exotic dancer and Sebastian the Wolf shifter chef. Sebastian discovers that Gianna is his mate and his inner wolf has a hard time staying away from her. Unexpectedly Gianna’s mom returns on New Year’s Eve after abandoning her when she was a baby. Gianna then struggles with if she should get to know her mom or why she really returned after all these years.
Sebastian and his roommates go to a retro rock club where Sebastian meets the siren owner, Gianna. Sebastian’s wolf immediately identifies her as his mate! But being a siren, Gianna is not interested in settling down with one man. Relationships are not her thing. Even though Gianna and Sebastian are perfect for each other, convincing her they were meant to love each other forever will not be an easy task.
When Gianna's mother surprisingly comes to town after many years of absence, she claims to wants to spend time with her daughter and get to know her. This is out of character and suspicious. What could she be up to?
The love and the suspense will keep the reader on edge and loving it! Sebastian is such a sweet, lovable guy. Even Gianna feels herself falling for him. Will she give him a chance?
Ok this was another great book in the Salem Supernaturals. This one is about a half siren and wolf shifters. The siren's mother abandoned her as a baby. Her father was an overprotective and overbearing marine who tried to protect her by controlling the siren part of her which caused all sorts of issues for her and their relationship. Now Twenty-five years later, mommy dearest is back but is she really their just to get to know her daughter or does she have ulterior motives. Into all thus mess comes this wolf shifter with his own background issues and his wolf claiming her as their mate. The story has lots of heat, steam, action, and comedy. This book does continue the over all story. I highly recommend you read it and the rest of the series.

“Hot in Witch City” is the 2nd fan-freaking-tastic page-turner from the awesome new series ‘Salem Supernaturals’ :) This grabbed me from the start & held on tight as I did not want to stop reading at all whenever I had to :o ... Another fresh new storyline with relatable characters some old & some new, but the chemistry between Gianna & Sebastian is off the charts :) ... Then add in some suspense and you have a page-turner that will keep readers engaged & then addicted for more books afterwards, like me ;) ... Even tho I volunteered to read this in advance, it was without any outside influences and these are my own feelings! Also I do buy kindle ebooks whenever I am able, so I can honestly recommend this to Adult 18+ fans of fiction and can’t wait for more- but I will ;)
The second book in the Salem Supernaturals series begins exactly where book 1 Rebel Spell left off! Sebastian's wolf claims Gianna, a half Siren , as his mate. No chance , according to Gianna! As they both get to spend more time with each other, sceptical Sebastian is more and more convinced she actually is his mate! But he's trying to keep it cool x thus relationship shy Siren has a lot of other issues. When someone turns up who Gianna thought she never would see again, she's conflicted & something feels off.. And her liking Sebastian more than a friend, could it be a possibility ? This book keeps us on our toes just as much as the first book. Complex characters, who both have issues from their past, unresolved and struggling with it. A wolf not wanting to follow in his former packs traditions and a siren not sure where she belongs. Totally loved Sebastian and Gianna and all characters from book 1 also make an appearance . Funny, steamy, mystery, magical, this book has got it all. A feel good PNR with plenty of great music to sing along to!!! Now onto book 3!
I know I’ve said it before but this series has fast become one of my favorites!! Strong women. Sexy men. Supernatural vibes. YES please!
I love the characters. They all feel like old friends of mine. The attraction and chemistry between Gianna and Sebastian is amazing!! I could hear the sparks each time they were around each other. Did I mention the very cool bar? I believe I have BUT it deserves another mention. 80’s music AND 80’s inspired drinks? The author had my heart from the start! I have fallen in love with the little Salem town.
If you haven’t checked out this series, what are you waiting for? This is your sign to read them!! You’re in for a treat. I give this 5 stars.
Sebastian was fantastic in the first book and did not disappoint as the center of his own story here. His adorable way of fumbling through figuring out the connection between him and Gianna had me loving him so much! I really enjoyed seeing how the book reveals a little at a time how these two are more alike than first thought. I did wish Gianna was a little more flexible in her ways of thinking things through, she was a bit off putting at times but overall I enjoyed her character and the chemistry between her and Sebastian.
Very much looking forward to Lucas’s story now as I am just loving this series!
I have enjoyed reading book 2 in this series and recommend reading book 1 first for background and history, although the epilogue from book 1 is included by the author to set the scene for the start of book 2.
I loved that Sebastian finally found out what that smell was and I loved seeing these two come together, when it was good it was lovely, when pasts, family, doubts and insecurities got in the way it was a little sad. I believed in their connection, loved his need to feed, enjoyed the family they surrounded themselves with and I am looking forward to seeing where this series goes next.

Gianna is half siren and best friend to Nova from book one of the Salem Supernaturals series. Sebastian is a wolf shifter and one of Nova's roommates. From the moment Sebastian meets Gianna he knows she's his mate but convincing Gianna won't be easy. When Gianna's long lost mother shows up after not seeing her for years things take a suspicious turn. Hot In Witch City is book two of the Salem Supernaturals series and I am loving this group of quirky friends. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
You will be looking for more even though you are not sure exactly what u are looking for. I feel like the story is a little to quick & to Sebastian’s eyes Gianna couldn’t do wrong. He went her pase STILL it was not good enough for her! She even ended their “friends w/benefit” relationship (rejected him) & he still went back to her after 1 txt of her asking to talk to him. I didn’t really like it that much! At this end she got the girl.. but technically not really since she is not ready to be his mate (not marked)
Hot in Witch City, an Audiobook by Lisa Carlisle, is the story of Sebastian and Gianna. He’s a wolf shifter and she’s part Siren. His wolf thinks Gianna is his mate. She struggles with the idea that anyone would want her…
This was a delightful story with lots of fun, gentle banter between these two!! Thoroughly enjoyable listen! Great story line, wonderful characters…this story made me smile!!!
This Audiobook was narrated by Cynthia Farrell and Javi Wilder, who were soooooooooo good!!! They brought out the joyful feelings of the characters and story!!!
I loved this second book in the Salem Supernaturals series, i just binge read it. Gianna and Sebastian are very hot together, I love all the characters and the story just lured me in and I couldn't let go...so glad that today is S.Peter's holiday at the county where I work and I got to stay home. I just hope to get Lucas story very soon, it will be a long wait. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Angsty good book. At the heart it’s a live story but the main characters each feel damaged and find in the other completeness. Gianna is a half siren who was abandoned by her mother as a infant. Sebastian the wolf shifter was drawn to Gianna at first meeting but kept denying his wolf. They hook up often but she doesn’t want anything serious and he’s afraid to share his feelings. They help each other overcome issues from their pasts and get something much stronger.

I liked the whole book, there wasn't anything I didn't like. I just hated that it took me too long to read it. There was a little trouble and a little drama, which was good, I wish there was a little more drama in it. I recommend this book to anyone who likes super natural paranormal series. I'll definitely be reading the third book about Lucas finding his lover.
I didn’t like it as much as the first one. I found Sebastian a bit too needy and easily forgiving when she was behaving quite horribly towards him. It was also completely obvious that her mother was up to something, to show up after all that time, it was a bit obvious but she was just a bit too needy and trusting. A bit too much kind of repetitive sex too. I like that Nova and Diego still featured and book 3 (Lucas’ story) looks quite interesting so I may yet read on
This is Book 2 of Salem Supernaturals starring Gianna and Sebastian. WOW talk about wild and wonderful, but I hated the part of Gianna and her mother. I had hoped she would have gotten the mother she wanted what she did get had me wanting to kick the mother in the pants. But this story will have you wanting to keep reading.
