This is a historical account written by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, son of Baha'u'llah, Prophet-Founder of the Bahá’í Faith. It was written around 1886 and first published anonymously in Persian in 1890. The English translation was prepared by Professor Edward G. Browne and first published by Cambridge University Press in 1891. At under a hundred pages, it is a simple, but still very moving narrative recounting the events in the lives of the Founder of the Bábí Faith, the Báb, (the Forerunner of Baha'u'llah and Prophet-Herald of the Bahá’í Faith) and His followers. It also illustrates the character of the Baha'i revelation by quoting passages from Baha'u'llah's Writings. This narratives also includes the message from Baha'u'llah to Násiri'd-Dín Sháh (Sháh of Persia from 1848-1896), and the story of its delivery to the Shah by Badí‘, a youth who was killed by the Shah shortly after. As far as historical books in publication on earth today, Baha'i narratives along with the other great Baha'i histories, (God Passes By by Shoghi Effendi and The Dawn-Breakers by Nabíl-i-Aʻzam come first to mind) cannot be missed by any human. Everyone should read the histories of the Baha'i faith and the Baha'i writings. (there is a free audiobook of this particular narrative on Librivox.org at https://librivox.org/search?q=%20narr... running at around 5 hrs long)
