When sixteen- year-old Troy Elliot’s father, mother, and sister are killed, he is shot and left for dead. But he doesn’t die, and over the next six years he starts a campaign of revenge. His campaign accounts for all but one of the men who broke into the house that night. He has not found the leader, because Troy never got a look at him.
Now, as a shotgun guard for Wells Fargo, Troy’s quest for vengeance is interrupted when he is framed for the murder of his driver, Rice Pendleton.
Rice Pendleton is the father of Alexandria Pendleton, a beautiful woman stagecoach driver. Troy is attracted to Alex, but the false charge of murder stands between them.
Troy is forced to take up the outlaw trail until he is able to clear his name, deliver justice to the leader of the men who killed his family, and win the hand of the comely Alex Pendleton.

Rough and ready western, well written and an enjoyable listen. Clean. Engaging narrator adds to the intensity level. Recommended for western lovers and those who like clean reads.
The lead character is a young woman (Alex) who, after her father was murdered, wants to become a stagecoach driver… The storyline also evolves around a young man, seeking revenge for the murder of his family, becomes accused of being a killer and a bandit. Of course, there are plenty of unsavoury characters who have to be dealt with before the book comes to a satisfying conclusion…. Overall, it’s a good audiobook, but based on the storyline, perhaps a female narrator would have been better?
Alex is definitely worthy of following, as she certainly knows how to handle a stage coach and will maintain your undivided attention from beginning to end in this fast moving frontier folklore masterpiece!

This is an interesting story about a girl who was raised by her dad who was a coach driver. He taught her everything and she wanted to drive the coach and was better than any of the males. She saw her dad killed and thought she it was the shotgun guard who had did it. The guard went into hiding to avoid being charged with the offence and tried his best to change everything.
Interesting story about stage coach robberies, wrongful deaths, false identities, prejudice against women and class. Hannah should have lived, and Jenny' s dream been fulfilled.
An enjoyable tale with enough action and intrigue to keep the pages turn. The characters are believable and fully developed to bring a richness to the story. Good writing.
This is truly a classic western. Guy meets girl, girl meets guy and they are going to marry. But wait read this fantastic journey. There a whole lot more that happens before the ending. Thrill ride.
Audiobook. Lovely western! The man seeks revenge for the outlaws that murdered his family. The woman tries to become the first female Wells Fargo stagecoach driver.
The author, Robert Vaughn, had a lot going on in this classic western and he brought it all together for a satisfying ending. An enjoyable western, an enjoyable story, an enjoyable read.
