SOME SECRETS SHOULD REMAIN IN THE SHADOWS

Those who know me will say I’m an ordinary, and a bit naive, 17-year-old. They might think differently if they knew my secret. It’s something I’ve never shared with anyone, and I mean no one.
Every once in a while, since I was eight, I’ve had a dream. The same one, every time. I dream of a man hidden by shadows, who never fails to save me from the searing flames that threaten to devour me.
He is always there for me.
Always!
That’s the dream…this is now. I have a new classmate, and instinctively I know, something seems strange. In a matter of hours, dark rumors abound, labeling him an outcast. Even before he has the chance to become one of us, my classmates turned against him.
My heart tells me there’s more to him than his frown and this specific expression he has. That’s what my heart says, but I saw something I shouldn’t have. That night, in the park by the willow I saw him covered in blood.
I should keep my distance, but I can’t. Something mysterious draws me to him.

He has secrets of his own.

However, one secret could destroy us both.

Writer. Author. Thinker. Storyteller.

As a professional Author, I aim to create different worlds where my characters can unveil their true potential — a mission which has cast me in many different roles: author, artist, and creative innovator.

I was born in 1991, in Bucharest, Romania.
Yes, that Romania where Dracula lives.

Even as a young child I was always conjuring up stories and filling them with colorful characters, sharing them with anyone and everyone who would listen. Since then, I’ve progressed quite a bit to formulating longer and more complex stories and sharing them with much larger audiences.

Smooth, easy-to-read paranormal YA romance.

This story centers around two high schoolers, Michael and Ariana. Ariana has had dreams of a boy since the time she was little so when Michael appears in her life, she knows he’ll be part of her world. As the two start to slowly interact more and more, their romance blooms in an awesome suspenseful storyline.

I love the way that the author started the story with such a hook of mystery but gradually blended that into the reality of Ariana’s words. As we learn the truth about her, and Michael, it’s easy to connect with these characters and grow with them.

I really liked it!!!

At first, I wanted to write a review by chapters, but as I hate spoilers, I won't be one myself.
If you take the chance to open this book, you are in for a surprise. By the book description, I expected a different course of action. It didn't even cross my mind the way this story will develop, from a narrative perspective and romantic perspective as well. I loved how the book is written in one character's point of view, yet you feel the pain of the other.

What else can I say?

Characters well developed.
Predictability is next to zero.
Easy to follow story.

TOTALLY WORTH IT

Great read

This book took me back in time to my first love experience. This is because of the author's fantastic skill to describe feelings and emotions. I would say this story was written from own experience and definitely from the heart. This is a modern love story that almost every teenager would find close to her or his heart.
Lots of topics related to school, friendship, family. Also mother and daughter relation, absence of father. I really enjoyed reading it and can definitely recommend to all young adult readers and not only.

After reading this book, there is only one thing I want to shout out loud.
I WANT MORE!!!
Twists, after twists, after twists.
Every time you think everything will be fine, you turn the page and wake up in a bigger mess. I know the action takes place during a few months, but there is a limit to how much one heart can stand.
This book is going strait to " ❤to read again❤" shelf.

Good story that might be better with a bit more story line, but all in all readers should enjoy this tale of Ariana and Michael. two people whose lives are going to get entangled beyond their wildest dream and maybe in a a few of those dreams also. The author does a good job with this look at life from a different angle and a few disorders that have an affect them.

If you enjoy the YA paranormal/romance genre then I think you'll really enjoy this book. The characters are well written and relatable. It was a pleasure to follow the sweet love story while the mysteries within the story unfolded at the perfect rate-layer by layer. Beyond Dreams is a solid book that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Looking forward to book 2.

Good YA. Would have liked to have more of a story line through out the whole book. Beginning was kinda slow for me.

Beyond Dreams is the first book in the Fateful Dreams Series by Andreea Pryde. It is a paranormal YA novel. The story is told in Ariana's POV. A romance develops between Ariana and Michael. There are twists and turns, mystery, some drama, as well as action.

I really liked the characters and felt they were developed very well. The book flowed well, and it was easy to read. I am looking forward to reading the next installment in the series.

This is one absolutely adorable YA paranormal romance novel and I enjoyed it immensely. And the romance was beautifully imagined and beautifully written. The author has an incredible ability to convey the emotions of first love and take the reader back in time.
This is a story of Ariana and Michael, two high school kids. Michael is a new comer and a victim of vicious rumours. Ariana is a curious, intelligent, and compassionate human being capable of looking beyond what others say. Nothing is what it seems, and Ariana has her dark secrets, as well. Both of them are so incredibly sweet and lovable, as are some of the side characters. Not all characters are lovable but they are all well developed, and there are proper scary villains in the story.
The author's writing is great, but what got me the most is how she commenced with the familiar plot and then added so many new and original twists and turns, and turned it into a completely new complex plot that blew my mind by the time I reached the end of the story. Most of the time I had absolutely no idea where the story was going and what could possibly happen. I absolutely loved all about this story and I can't wait for the next one.

This was such a cool story! It was very different and took me by surprise many times. Ariana has had dreams since childhood that never made sense to her. Until the new kid in school Michael comes into her life. He isn't like everyone else and everyone seems to be afraid of him. It doesn't help that he is afraid of himself as well. The one person who isn't afraid of him is Ariana. She sees the good in Michael. Even when he reveals his secrets to her. As if that isn't enough to deal with suddenly someone has a target on Michael and Ariana gets swept up in that drama. Also add in a teenage crush. This story has so much happening but not in a too busy sort of way. I was enthralled from start to end. I loved Michael too. His true spirit is really shown. And I love how protective he is of Ariana. I also loved how protective she was of him too. They are a perfect match friendship and romance wise. Get ready to be on the edge of your seat through this one. You will be hit with surprise after surprise. This narrator does a great job telling the story. I felt like it was Ariana telling it to me herself. I can't recommend this enough to paranormal mystery fans.

Beyond Dreams is a sweet YA novel with plenty of heart. The romance is sweet and the stressful situations plentiful. These kids have a lot to deal with and end up deeply in love through their trials and tribulations and the special bond they form. Over the course of the book their emotions deepen and the author does a good job of reminding us of young love, and how we were all once happy to give 'it' all up for love. But these are no naive teens - they face some pretty harrowing circumstances thanks to less than friendly family members, and share a common fate of family who just don't love them enough or in the right way. They both have wonderful role models though, who seem to keep them grounded despite the crazy around them. Overall a sweet book, an afternoon's read, and great for young adults venturing into more 'grown up' books.

Ariana has been having dreams about a boy. She has never seen his face, but her dreams about him have been pretty consistent. She has had so many, that she has created a dream journal so that she can track her dreams as they come to her. For the longest time, he has been a dream, until her dream becomes a reality.

Michael is the new kid in town. He is just coming back into society after being off in the jungles and away from normal life for the past ten years. He is an interesting character and all of the students are afraid of him because of rumors that are going around about him. Everyone is afraid of him, save for Ariana.

There is something brewing between the two. Neither knows what it is, but there is a closeness between them, a link, that allows for Michael to be available to save Ariana, and for Ariana to bring Michael back from the brink.

A good read.

Beyond dreams, and into a real-life mystery…
This is a well-written young adult mystery/paranormal told from the main character Ariana’s point of view. Ariana has a recurring dream and we wonder if it’s just that, a dream stemming from one of her own issues, but we find that there is more to it. When Michael enters the picture, it seems that not only is there more reality to her dreams than she realized, but now her life takes a turn for both better and worse. The romance that develops between them is a sweet romance rather than steamy, which I prefer, especially in this genre. Overall, a very good read with twists and turns which held my interest.

So this one is a bit reminiscent of Twilight in style but in the paranormal realm. I really liked the narrator, I felt like her voice really fit the vibe of Ariana (17yr old girl). My daughter was listening to this one too (she's almost 13) and she had a harder time getting into it so for that reason I would peg it as an older teen/YA read. It has a really interesting storyline but it felt a little rushed at times and I agreed with the other reviewer that said it was a bit underdeveloped in areas. Overall, it's a really fun read and I am looking forward to book two to see where the story goes.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I absolutely loved it.
I loved Ariana's innocence and nativity, I loved Michael's changing personality, and I loved how the author presented different events in their lives.
I couldn't put it down. As I turned the pages, as the scenes changed, so did my feelings and reactions. I often surprised myself exclaiming, gasping and blushing(now I know why my Nana shouts at the TV).
The writing style is unique, fresh and easy to understand without minimizing the impact of the story.
I can't wait for her next book.

This story is a mix of romance, mystery and psychological drama, which gave it a fantasy feel. It dealt with issues such as young love, divorce, relationships, friendships and mental illness.

The tale is for a YA readership and centres mainly on Ariana - told from her point of view. Although, the emotions of others are well portrayed.

The characters fit nicely in the mix and there is tension and mystery to build the story. I liked the dream idea and sequences.

Overall, a good story that would be enjoyed by those who like this genre.

A wild ride from the start.

An elegantly understated paranormal sense of mystery leads the way, just like in real life. The feelings are powerful as first love. You don't want to miss this. Romantic enough to make one swoon, with a hard edge to make one nod in fierce enthusiasm, plunging on hungrily. I didn't stop reading. When it ended, I was surprised by two things. One, what a great, emotional, crazy tale. Two, how it suddenly was evening, not daytime. If anyone tried to contact me I'm sure they gave up. Apologize to your family in advance for ignoring them. It's that intense.

This is a great fantasy romance for young adults since it is clearly written with they youthful heart in mind. Written in POV, the story contains a bit of tension, a bit of mystery, some love and a tremendous amount of naivety on Ariana's part. There were times when I felt the story could have been more complex and developed, but the story worked just the same as is. Perhaps that complexity will come in the next book as the story has plenty of room to expand in book 2 are quite high. All in all I thought it was a quick and fun read.

I loved the characters and the unique personalities in Beyond Dreams - the pairing of their innocence and maturity made the story, as dreams morphed into reality and imagined relationships became tangible. I never quite understood if it is common in this world to have people who are only part human with special abilities and superhuman strength, but Ariana seemed generally unafraid and accepting of Michael's gifts. The drama of the high school backdrop was handled well and the sweetness of the love story that developed was refreshing and a satisfying end to the book.

On the surface, Ariana and Michael appear to be typical teens: moody and not yet sure of their way in the world. However, Michael has some superhuman powers: speed and the ability to turn into a fighting machine. And there's a bit of mystery surrounding Ariana, too. What's causing her blackouts? You get enough of a teaser about the two of them in this first book to make you want to discover more secrets in the next one. It's filled with kids and adults behaving badly, plenty of action and mystery, and a young romance. It's a book the intended audience will enjoy.

I would have liked to see this story fleshed out a bit more, with some more realistic details and characters, but it was still a fun tale. I like the complexity of Michael’s character and the treatment of his multiple personality disorder. While Ariana seemed overly naïve to me, the story is sweet. This book would be enjoyable to those that like young adult romantic fantasy. A quick, enjoyable read.

An intriguing read, by a new author.

Beyond Dreams is well written with a lot going on. The characters are realistic and mesh together well throughout the story. The author brings the story to life and left me wanting more.
I enjoyed this novel and look forward to book 2.
I can wait to see how the authors writing grows and progresses as she continues the series.
Great start to a new series!

Andreea spins a tale about a handsome misfit who shows up in the dreams of an unsuspecting young woman, and then who suddenly shows up at the heroine's school. With magic, fantasies, and new love, Beyond Dreams is a pleasing and quick read, especially for teenagers. The book is refreshing, sweet, and dreamy. I only wish that the buildup to the romance had been a bit slower...

Wonderful sweet, paranormal romance. I really loved the creativity and freshness of this story! Especially bringing in dream worlds, and how they might be more real than the characters at first realize.

Ariana and Michael are both likeable and fleshed out characters. I found myself cheering for them, and couldn’t wait to find out what happened next.

Highly recommend!

I just finished this book right now and I have to say, even though it isn't my usual genre, it blew me away. It was written so well, so descriptive and the characters were so easy to love. I kept turning the pages to find out if it's a happy end or not, because honestly, I had no idea where it was going to go. The author gets 5 stars from me for this very imaginative unique story! Great job!

Definitely different. I was initially surprised at how young the main character is. I was not expecting this book to have a fantasy/paranormal theme. After recovering from that jolt, I can say that I got sucked it. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and all of its twists and turns.

I received this book for free at my request but the opinion is of my own. A girl with a recurring dream suddenly meets a guy who not only becomes good friends but protects her from the evil people around her. He’s different than the rest and has a secret. There are people after him and will stop at nothing to get what they want.

It's obvious that English isn't the authors first language, but once you get into the story the choppy'ness somehow just adds to the enchantment of a lovely well told story.

What an unusual romance. We hear a lot about identity in today's society and this tale tackles it head on. Sweet, innocent yet mysterious and dangerous sums up the story and the characters. I only put it down long enough to make the pancakes one scene had me craving!
