A storm is coming. The shadows are filled with enemies. GlobaTech Industries stands alone.
GlobaTech is hired by the president of Paluga, a small South American nation torn apart by civil unrest and military disputes. Fearing an escalation in violence, GlobaTech dispatch a large security force led by Jericho Stone to act as peacekeepers — mirroring their responsibilities for the United Nations.
But an unexpected attack leads to a true divide of both the citizens and the military. As Julie Fisher and Ray Collins work to track down those responsible for the attack, Jericho and the GlobaTech forces are grounded, trapped in Paluga between two sides of a military on the brink of civil war.
Elsewhere, Moses Buchanan has his own battles to fight. In the wake of the disaster in Paluga, GlobaTech’s ability to represent the United Nations on a global scale is called into question. Stuck in a courtroom, Buchanan must fight to save the conglomerate from corporate destruction, before his team find themselves with more enemies than they can handle.
An outstanding fight for Right as Globatech Security is hired by the new President of Paluga, a small South American nation being torn apart by civil and military unrest! Jericho Stone takes a large contingent of operators to keep the peace, but, despite all the preparation and work he puts in, the worst happens...A good man is executed...And Jericho and the Globatech members are grounded...Trapped between two sides of what looks to break out as the next civil war...Those at home work desperately to find just Who is responsible...But will they find the answers in time...Before the team in Paluga are forced to fight for their lives?!! At this time the big boss, Moses Buchanan, is called for to a meeting, as Globatech's continued ability to represent the United Nations on a global scale is called into question...While the team is fighting for their lives, Buchanan is fighting corporate America for the company... A heart-pounding story that mixes politics with those who fight for safety and well-being of every American...I was unable to look away as I felt the desire and need by the force to do what is Right, and the desperation in Buchanan's voice as he attempts to let a group of businessmen understand just What his company does!!! I received an ARC from this talented author and offer You my honest thoughts and feelings in this review.
Wow was this great fun ! Non stop action from beginning to end ! An elite trio takes on the world as part of Globatech (worldwide policing force if you will). Things take a nasty turn when Jericho is sent to a small country to protect the newly elected President; who is assisted right after he arrives. One global corporation battling another for supremacy leads to many lives lost !
This is the third book in James P. Sumner’s “GlobaTech Series” and it is as masterfully done as all his books are. Mr. Sumner creates the best, most life like characters and the world he creates for them is always spot on. . You will feel like you are in the middle of the action. This is definitely a page turner and even though I haven’t read the first or second book in the series I had no problems following the story. Someone is out to destroy GlobalTech and they are the world peacekeepers for the UN, and many more entities. This was an action packed read and I had a hard time putting it down. I’m definitely going read #1 and #2. I am also anxious to get the next book in the series. While this can be read as a stand alone I’m sure that the first two books will fill in the backstory. I loved this book and highly recommend the entire series.
I requested to read this book as an ARC and am leaving my honest opinion.
Danger Close: A Gripping Action Thriller (GlobaTech #3), my sixth read from author James P. Sumner and my first read in his GlobaTech Series. Another must-read book for fans of James P. Sumner, I look forward to the next book from this author and in this new series.“I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Globatech is under attack, as a mystery enemy looks to take them down by destroying there reputation to defend the world. With Jericho trapped in a war torn country, Julie and Ray race to find a way to keep the peace. Good story that moves at a nice pace and us part of a larger storyline across different series.
Wow what a read full of action and found i was reading faster as the pace got faster felt out of breath !!Not going to say any more .Just wondering who the team will be working with !!!I wonder soo looking forward to the next book getting excited already !!
I must agree with Barbara, I was also reading faster as I got into the book . Again James has left me wanting more, hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the next one. Loved the epilogue 2 await with baited breath to see how it pans out.
I received a review copy from the author at my request and this is my honest opinion. This is one more action-filled, character-driven, tech-enhanced story. The characters tend to be larger than life, but don’t become caricatures. In my opinion, that is a fine line an author has to walk; to create characters that engage the reader with their abilities without wandering into the world of “superheroes”. Mr. Sumner walks that line quite well. His characters come off the page as people one would expect to encounter in the military, not ones wearing disguises and capes. The technology aspects of the story are realistic with a touch of futuristic thrown in for good measure. And if you are looking for real action that never lets up, this is the series you’ve been looking for. Unfortunately, Mr. Sumner’s language leaves much to be desired when it comes to the use of profanity, but then no one’s perfect. Too many authors think it is necessary to write a good thriller, but I beg to differ. So if that bothers you, you might want to skip this book. But I’d really hate to see you miss out. One thing I have to commend Mr. Sumner for is his use of the required “sex scene”. I’m not going to get into my feelings regarding that, but I do want to give credit where credit is due. There are a couple of sex scenes here, but nothing that could even begin to be called graphic. It was such a nice change from authors who feel it is necessary to describe every detail. If I wanted that I wouldn’t be reading thrillers. All in all, this is an awesome book that I highly recommend., but to get the best enjoyment from it, you should really read the series in order.
Newly elected president of Paluga hires Globatech to serve as security in an unstable country island. A sniper has been hired to assassinate President Herrera, Globatech personnel are held up in a compound with a general in the Paluga military attempting to take over the government. This is a thrilling and heart pounding novel to keep you wanting to read.
