After his scandalous fight with Mad Max, Stone was banned from the professional fighting world. Turning to a wild and reckless life filled with women, alcohol, and drugs, Stone thought that his life was officially over. With nowhere left to go, Stone takes a job as a bouncer in a Las Vegas Club.
Ember grew up in a trailer park in the middle of nowhere. Once she graduated high school, she took off for the big city lights of Las Vegas and never looked back. She has no idea what she wants out of life yet, but she knows she will never go back to the world she left behind.

When their eyes lock, both Stone and Ember realize there’s more to the other than they ever could have imagined. Ember see’s strength in Stone and he finds hope in Ember.
Will they be able to save one another and help build the lives they are both destined for?
This was a great anti hero romance. It's story that tells the story of Stone Cold, outcast boxer after a dirty match. He meets bartender Ember when he steps in to help her when some customers get out of line. There is an instant spark between them. He sees her more than where she came from. And she sees him as more than the bad choices he's made. I loved their connection. I loved how they made each other better. It was beautiful how she believe in him and really was what he needed to save himself. As Stone Cold tries to get back into the boxing world proving he's now honest, they have their own issues to over come. This is a great romance. If you love stories about redemption, pick this up now. It has an ending I bet will surprise you.
Stone Cold is the second book in The Heavy Hitters series and is the story of Ember and Stone. This story starts with something that happened in the first book, Knock Out. As Stone and Max had a fight but Stone is now dealing with the repercussions of what he did. As he was banned from boxing he is now on a downward spiral and doing it fast. Ember is a young woman who may not know exactly what she wants but she knows what she doesn't want. Her childhood was not the best and she is determined to never go back once she hits Vegas. Ember and Stone cross paths at work where she is a bartender and he is a bouncer, but neither is interested in the other. That all changes though one night and from there these two opposites find something in each other that pulls them together on a deeper level. After not really liking the first book in this series I was not sure if I would read this book. But I decided to and I was glad I did. I enjoyed this book as it is a redemption romance of two people who both have things to deal with, neither sure of how but they give each other the support they each need.
This is a story of redemption for a man who is spiraling downward. Stone Cold got caught in a scandal and was banned from professional MMA fighting. Since that had been his life, he sunk down to what he thought would distract him, but it didn’t. He goes to Vegas and takes a job as a bouncer.
Ember grew up in a trailer park in the middle of nowhere. She graduated high school and went to Vegas to explore what calls to her. She will never allow herself to go back to her old life.
When Stone helps with some rowdy customers, he and bartender Ember take notice of each other. Each of them recognizes the other for more than their circumstances. For him, where she came from does not define her. For her, she sees so much more than his bad choices. And the hope they find in each other begins their healing. It won’t be the end of their struggles, but not having to struggle alone makes all the difference. Will they give themselves a chance to be stronger together?
This little book is a very nice addition to the series, and it was nice to see what happened to Stone after the stunt he pulled with Max at the end of the last book. I love Ember's snarky attitude with Stone, but also how she gets him to believe in himself again. He makes her feel better about herself as well, not caring where she came from, only the person she is now. Ginger is just a terrific friend and co-worker to Ember, always there with great advice. There are surprises near the end. It is a wonderful story of redemption and starting over, and I'm glad to have the opportunity to read it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was an amazing story by M.A. Lee. I will definitely be reading more from this author after reading Ember and Stone's story. Stone and Ember have a intense chemistry that cannot be denied. Stone is no longer allowed to fight and he self medicates with drugs and alcohol. He meets Ember, a bartender, when a few customers get out of control. Once you begin reading their story, you simply will not be able to stop until the very last page! 5 stars!
I enjoyed the plot line and the characters, but all the grammatical errors just really lost it for me. Its very frustrating trying to decipher words and meanings due to poor spelling issues.
