Expecting Love

Rate this book
Brigid O'Neil, Irish immigrant and interior designer, never does anything that might count as wild or against the rules.

Until she meets Levi Carson in a bar on holiday in Miami, and is too drunk to remember her rules about following rules.

Fast forward eight months… she never got his number or last name, but she did get something.

Levi Carson didn't expect to come home from the Marines and meet a girl he liked on his first night back in the States. He'd just finished military service and his head wasn't all in the right place.

A little over half a year later, he's transitioned from Marine medic to labor and delivery nurse. When he discovers that his next patient is the girl he slept with in Miami, and her baby looks exactly like him, he bites the bullet and starts playing father to the little one. Even though Brigid won't tell him the truth.

But neither one of them can keep ignoring the truth forever. And when Levi finally decides he's had enough and walks away, Brigid has to ask herself one question: Is her pride worth losing the man she's started to fall in love with?

The female mc in this book was a train wreck. The male mc was a pushover, it didn’t make for a good book.
The entire story was basically just the female main character having no idea what she was doing and not caring about anybody else but herself and the male mc just chasing behind her like it was okay.
Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone but wasn’t so bad it was a 1 star, because trust me, I’ve read a lot worse lmao

This book is a little too cutesy, and this Hero was unbelievably too good to be true. This story drug on and on with the heroine never telling the Hero he was the dad of her child, even though he pretty much guessed the child was his since they had had unprotected sex multiple times that one night hookup. God forbid these two actually have a real conversation to figure stuff out and get answers about their one night stand.

First of all, I had an impossible time believing that these two would miraculously end up in the same city (Philadelphia) after hooking up for one night in Miami. The believability factor went into the toilet with that scenario.

Levi was WAY too sweet about everything . And Brigid was WAY too annoying and frustrating, choosing to keep Levi in the dark about his child when she truly had no way of financially taking care of herself and her kid, and could have really used all the help Levi was offering her. Brigid STILL refused to tell Levi the truth even when it was evident he wanted to know and others were telling her to tell him the truth. Brigid was a cold hearted butthead and I didn't like her at all. Levi babied the hell out of her, but the reader is supposed to believe that she was too afraid to tell him the truth about his kid? It didn't make any sense and I wanted to shake her until she pulled her head out of her butt. Which never happened in this story BTW. This is the first of three stories about this couple, and honestly this story was more than enough for me, even though it ended without Brigid ever telling Levi he was the father of her baby. This story was free, but the next two are full price and not on KU. I'll definitely be skipping the next two. I didn't enjoy this story enough to care what happens to this couple in the future.

Once again, Timms writes a three book series but, at least, this one feels like the story ends are tied up, but allows for the story to develop further.

Expecting Love by Lexy Timms is an unexpected baby romance from the A Bump in the Road Series. (1)

Levi didn’t have a serious relationship since high school. Joining the Marines didn’t make that possible. Now that he is out and about to start his civil life, he still doesn’t plan to have anything serious until he sees the beautiful woman, Brigid.

Brigit can’t believe her own eyes as she meets with Levi. Sparks fly instantly, and they spend one steamy night together then he leaves without even saying goodbye. But he left something, a surprise that turns Brigid’s life upside down.

They met again few months later in the delivery room, and guess who is the delivery nurse?
He can’t leave them alone, and not to be part of their life but will Brigid put her pride aside and let him in?

This book, this book just so…. argh…
I usually don’t write bad reviews because I believe that there is no such a thing as a bad book.

But this book annoyed me to the end. The characters were idiots, the only sane characters were the secondary ones.
I skipped a lot of pages, I really just wanted to get over this book and now that it’s done I’m still angry with it.

I gave this book 3 stars (sorry, but to be honest it’s a 1,5 I just don’t want to be mean to the author who worked so hard on it)

Cliffhanger ending which I hate. Had I known I wouldn’t have purchased tbh.
The story wasn’t really believable and the characters seemed immature tbh.
I can’t see the story stretching out for 3 books, this didn’t start until 11% and ended at 88%.
I wish I’d stated cliffhanger so readers had 5he knowledge they would have to purchase more books to get a full story. I won’t buy this author again knowing it may be another cliffhanger.

A story of a one night stand .
Brigid thought she would never see Levi again.
Levi didn’t understand why she never called. He left her his phone number for her to call.
Misundestandings, Briggs’s fear of rejection in telling the truth to her parents and Levi.
This ends in a cliffhanger.
A short story, made into 3 books. It could have been one or maybe two.
The narration by John Dole is very good.
He made this story come to life.

I really liked how Levi stepped up; whether he knew for sure Maverick was his or not. I didn’t quite understand Brigid’s reluctance to tell her parents about the baby, but I see now that it is (at least in part) due to there being another book in the series. I still enjoyed the book, even though the story wasn’t resolved in book 1

Doubt

The book is good but I think that the story didn't need a cliffhanger. It was disappointing. The story could have being captured in one book I don't know if I will purchase the other two books.

You know sometimes you know what to expect and you’re still disappointed. This was one of those books that could have been over in 3 pages if the characters had just had a conversation like adults. At least this book was free.

The end

Where is the ending. She never finished what she was going to tell Levi. Ugh. Needed a lot better ending.

It was okay. Nothing ground breaking but also not the worst book. Probably not going to carry on with the series though.
