Brother's best friend? Falling for each other online without realizing it's each other? Yes, please! I really enjoyed this book! Aria is Grayson's best friend's sister and goes through a really bad break up. Grayson offers her a job at his tech company, which means she has to move in with him when she moves to California to work for him. Obviously the forced proximity causes them to start acknowledging their feelings for each other and I loved how protective Grayson was over Aria because of their past of being so close and his feelings for her. I loved how both of them were so good at coding and how Aria was learning how to stand up for herself and go after what she loves. It was a great forced proximity and forbidden romance!!

(Note: i blacklisted this author after this book. I really hated that she treated a rape victim in her story like the rape victim was in the wrong for feeling hatred and for not wanting anything to do with the product of her rape. Disgusting. )

Review:

Ew...

The heroine yelled at a rape victim and said that the rape victim "DESERVES" the sorrow!!!

what the fuck!

I thought this book's biggest crime was the severe lack of chemistry between these two dumb asses, and the deeply insecure heroine and her dogshit self-esteem.

But no, the heroine had to take it a bit further by verbally harassing a rape victim, cause the rape victim reacted in an UNDERSTANDABLE way towards the hero...

Girl, no.

edit:

(Haha, i realized my previous review made little sense, cause I was just shocked and reacted by word vomiting, so here is some more context:

The hero's father raped the hero's mother. The hero is the product of that rape. The hero's mother was understandably triggered by the hero, especially since the hero looks so much like her rapist. So she reacted in an understable way towards the hero when the hero found her years after she's given him up.

She gave him up, and did not intend to be in his life, by the way. Again, understable.

BUT THEN cause the hero got sad and into his little feelings about things his mother said, the heroine took it upon herself to go confront the mother, the rape victim by the way, and tell her that she "deserves" it.)

Yeah, real fucked up.

I won't be reading anything else by this author.

Thanks.

I'm a sucker for a brothers best friend romance, it's one of my favorite storylines. This is the first story I've read by Catharina, but had been intrigued by the teasers on-line. I absolutely loved Aria and Grayson. Once I picked up the story I couldn't put it down. Grayson is totally swoon worthy. Big, tall, handsome, rich, jealous/possessive, smart, and so much more. Poor Aria, I totally connect to her insecurities and love how she progressed during the story. While she was self conscious and and doubts. I still found her to be strong.
Overall loved the story and strongly recommend.

Oh, the melodrama. I love it. And I hate it. But mostly I love it.

The opening of the novel has us meet Grayson as he visits his best—and only—friend, Noah. As the two catch up, Grayson asks about Noah’s sister Aria, at which point he finds out that she no longer lives with Noah and has moved in with her boyfriend.

The beginning was absolutely my favorite part. Grayson was curt and stoic except for when it came to his connection to Aria and Noah. I loved the relationship the three of them shared, all of them protective, considerate, and caring of the others, their own little family.

The novel goes downhill for me after that. While the built up of the relationship was sweet, it was hampered by the fact both characters were basically emotionally and physically cheating on each other…with each other—but they didn’t know that. Very rarely does a secret/double/hidden identity work for me, and this was no exception. Thankfully, they both figured it out pretty quickly (relative to the novel).

So many plot points were thrown at us without much closure—a big one relating to the murders of Aria and Noah’s parents. It was relevant until it wasn’t. I did, however, appreciate that Aria wasn’t completely healed from it.

content warning: the next part refers to a

Catharina Maura writes books in a way that makes them impossible to put down. Until You is no exception. At times it was drawn out (while simultaneously rushed), but it was never boring, and that’s really all I could hope for.

2.5 stars. Meh. There were parts that were good and other parts that were super disappointing. I’m especially disappointed to read yet another book where the heroine hadn’t had an orgasm with a man, had never had anyone consider her pleasure, and who’s ex was a POS who was just using her. She was shocked when the hero was going to FINGER her. 😂😂😂😂 Seriously? How do authors think of this shit? Do they just want to write the most pathetic heroines, or what?

Ash: Nyx, you aren’t a virgin, are you?
I smile to myself, my heart twisting painfully. I’m not, but despite that, I’ve never had truly fulfilling sex. I’ve never even orgasmed with a man, but that’s probably got more to do with me than them… I’m not the type of woman that’d turn anyone on, that’d make someone want to put effort into my pleasure.
Nyx: No, I’m not.

Most strange was that her ex (who cheated on her and used her for their entire relationship) was absolutely disgusted by her… and yet, she’s being hit on by multiple people throughout the story. How does she end up with the one guy who had no real interest in her when there are obviously SO MANY who find her attractive? It doesn’t track.

And ofc the hero has a magic dick and she’s orgasming almost as soon as he touches her during their first time together.

There’s also a part at the end that a lot of people have an issue with… myself included. They find out that the hero was conceived through rape and his birth mom unloads all her hurt on him when they meet. The author vilified his birth mom and made her say some hateful things that caused the hero a lot of emotional damage. I don’t think it’s unbelievable that his birth mom might not have wanted a relationship with him, but I think the author took it a step too far when she became a villain who ruins the hero’s life while he’s trying to help her catch her rapist. It was a pretty cheap way to create angst and drama in the story and I think it could have been done without her involvement or trying to make a rape victim into a villain. It’s a gross way to progress the story imo.

Safe or SWE
Non-virgin but never had good sex heroine.
Heroine cheated on by her boyfriend at start of the story and she finds out he’s been cheating their entire relationship and never actually liked her.
No details about hero’s past except he obviously had experience and knew what he was doing
Hero is heroine’s brother’s best friend and they had all been friends/ like family for many years and they were both with others after meeting
No OW drama but heroine was jealous due to her own speculation
OM drama both from heroine’s ex and another man who wants her but she’s clueless
No cheating between MCs
No scenes with OM/OW
Third act breakup that was dumb AF.

TW: past rape recounted, death of parents recounted

8th grade author

I have no idea how this has so many great reviews because the writing is awful. The characters are predictable, cheesy, and unrealistic. The writing is also confusing, most of the scenes don't make sense. I got to 60% and stopped.

Good grief. Was this written by a hormonal 16 yr old? Immature, cringey, repetitive. It got an extra star for some of the cheesey puns.

Still, you get what you pay for... And this was free.

Until You by Catharina Maura is a standalone brother’s best friend romance in the Off-Limits series. Aria has always dreamed of a normal life with a secure job, a loving boyfriend, and a home. One day she loses it all, Aria receives devastating news at work, then goes home to discover her boyfriend’s transgressions, and loses her home as well. Aria has no choice, but to accept the job offered by her brother’s best friend, which is her dream job. Grayson has a traumatic past and his only family is his best friend Noah and Noah’s sister Aria. After seeing Aria in action he offers her a job and she moves into his Silicon Valley penthouse. Aria has a secret, after the unfortunate murders of her parents as a child she created a vigilante platform hoping to help others in similar situations. Unbeknownst to the other Aria and Grayson have struck a friendship with an anonymous person from the platform and slowly they’ve fallen for each other. Aria and Grayson navigate their newfound proximity and undeniable attraction although their relationship is off-limits.

I loved both Grayson and Aria’s characters. Grayson is so sweet, playful, and swoon-worthy. He’s a smart, handsome, accomplished, and possessive self-made billionaire. Aria has many insecurities, and she’s shy. Always second-guessing herself and her talent. These two together were explosive! The chemistry and the development of this relationship were so real and both of their personality traits are very apparent during their relationship, but these two make each other better. They help each other address the traumas of their past.

I enjoyed the storyline; it was refreshing and unexpected. As a woman in tech, I related to Aria’s character, and this shows that Catharina Maura has written well-developed and well-researched characters. These characters, their personalities, and flaws, Aria’s in particular, were very relatable. The storyline and characters are original and her writing flows smoothly. This book was so addicting. I was hooked from the first page of Until You and I can’t wait for the next book in the Off-Limits series!

⭐️2/5! I really loved the beginning of this book up until aground 40% where everything felt so repetitive. Every chapter in his (Grayson) pov he would ALWAYS talk about how small she was and how she could barely come up to his shoulder - it was very annoying. I was really looking forward to this book because the hype on BookTok but yet again never trust booktok recommendations.

There was a plot but I couldn’t tell you the point of it. Nothing was happening at all up until 75% where 4 different things started happening and I didn’t know where to focus, I was considering dnf at around 50%. A bit to many spice scenes at inappropriate times and none was that detailed it was always the same thing so I would’ve been fine with only one tbh. However I did enjoy the whole ‘nyx nemesis’ platform! I got told this was grumpy x sunshine but it wasn’t which was also disappointing. Very thankful the chapters was so short.

Overall there was some cute scenes but it just wasn’t for me, the characters weren’t enjoyable half the time they were so frustrated I wanted to bang their heads together (mainly the main characters. I will be reading the brothers book because I want to see if it gets any better and I really did like Noah.
🌶1/5 detail wise
🌶2/5 for how many scenes there was
🌶1/5 for my taste spice but no detail

So romantic, so boring, so depressing, so romantic. You get the picture!

I really loved the plot of this book. It should have been brilliant but it wasn’t. It nearly was. So frustrating!

Noah and Aria’s parents were murdered, when Aria was only young. Noah brought her up and they lived with Gray (Noah’s friend)while they were both studying. Gray is looking for his parents as he was abandoned as a baby. Because of their past experiences they both help with a secret internet platform that helps people in need.

Gray is flirting with Nyx who is unbeknown to him Aria. When Aria’s boyfriend breaks her heart, Gray offers her a job at his company, and she moves in with him. They become closer and they start to fall in love with each other. It’s so romantic and sweet but it’s not at the same time. She’s so so needy and convinced that she’s ugly, he daren’t admit his feelings for her because of her brother. It’s all a bit weird! He knows that she is Nyx but doesn’t tell her. So she’s flirting with two men and it gets bizarre!

Gray and Aria pulled me into their story from the very beginning. I loved their familiarity with each other and how at times they didn't know each other as well as they thought. The trauma they both suffered in childhood forged an unbreakable bond seen throughout the book. They complemented each other perfectly. If Aria was insecure about something Gray would build her up. When Gray needed strength and reassurance Aria never wavered. It was this that kept me reading and rooting and loving these two throughout the book.
If you are looking for a book that will leave you thinking about it long after reading it then look no further. Catharina Maura never disappoints with anything she writes.
I received an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.

3.75 stars This story was a sweet brother's best friend story with two top hackers.

All the characters had a lot to deal with in the past, and I loved how close they all were.

The FMC has a boyfriend at the beginning, but that's done pretty quickly, and FUCK him. He fucks with her self-esteem, and I loved when Aria got it back slowly and started to stand up for herself and to go after what she loves, partly because of Grayson.

Of course, the forced proximity caused them to acknowledge their feelings for each other (one of my fav tropes!).
I loved Grayson's protectiveness over Aria! That man would do everything for her. He was even jealous of himself (one of my favorite moments 😂).
The love and support they had for each other was beautiful.

Both are tech-savvy, and the online hacking relationship they developed without knowing at first that it was each other was cute!
I also liked that the secret identity stuff & brother's best friend thing didn't become that large of a conflict and turned into sweet moments.

The first 85% of the book was great, but it went downhill for me towards the end because I didn't like how things developed and some characters acted.

Overall, this ticked off some of my favorite tropes and I loved the little glimpses we got for her brother's book!

🗂Genre: Contemporary Romance
📕Type: Interconnected standalone

🏷Tropes:
- Brother's Best Friend
- Friends to Lovers
- Secret Identity/ Falling for each other online
- Boss x Employee
- Forced Proximity
- "Make her lose her smile, and I'll crush you"
- Hurt/ Comfort

⚠️Safety: no cheating, no owd/omd, mentioned: death of parents, rape

📖Audiobook: 1st person, dual POV & narration (CJ Bloom😍 & Teddy Hamilton)

Brother’s bestfriend will always do it for me. I can’t believe it took me forever to pick up this series because i am absolutely eating it up. Grayson and Aria has my heart.

This book was heavier than i thought it would be. The backstory of the MCs was absolutely painful. The end gave me closure tho. The healing the MCs went through together was so beautiful.

The audiobook in this book was soooo good. The 🌶️ scenes def got me foaming in the mouth 😅

I’m already starting the next book hehe 😜

TW: Rape

I mean, it's not that bad. It's a nice predictable romance book with a nice sexual tension. They are already touchy and care a lot for each other even before they even realize what they are feeling. Not gonna lie, I didn't care about the technology stuff (which I'm sure the author is not an expert in this), or even about the murder etc, I was just waiting, when will they gonna kiss? Goddamn...

But then, and this is my personal ick but still makes me lower my rating, is the scene in the airport. You know that one...

This book is just sooo sweet! I mean the men in Catharina's book are making it impossible for me to ever find someone 🤣🤣 so let me just talk about Grayson, swoon swoon swoon!!! He takes charge and just supports Aria even when she doesn't know he's doing it! He's a bit nerdy but has a cheeky side to him, which I love! He's the man in the ro that everyone looks up to and just wants to be around, even if he doesn't say much! But somehow he does with Aria.

This romance between them is kinda tricky. She just caught her boyfriend cheating and is in a bad place and Grayson hires her and starts seeing her in a different light than before. She's his best friend little sister! But the connection between them is off charts! Even if they don't know yet that they're talking to each other. This book is HOT, SWOON WORTHY AND JUST SO SWEET AND REAL!

Aria is a strong woman and definitely has her own insecurities and I mean which woman doesn't! But this book portrays those and shows how that part can be loved as well! I just loved it and it had all the best qualities for a sweet romance!

I loved this brother best friend romance! We see Aria at the beginning of this book when she finds her boyfriend cheating on her. She breaks up with him and moves to California to start working at her brothers best friend tech company.

While they are living in the same house, their relationship starts to develop. I loved their relationship! I thought was easy and romantic and it was so nice to read!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

It took him nearly the whole day but he finally arrived in Miami to spend the week with his best friend and celebrate his birthday with him. When Noah turns on the TV for them as they wait for his sister, Aria, a news story is on where a well-known politician gets 15 years on countless sexual harassment charges. A crime he thought he was getting off on.

As the story is being televised he gets a text from Nyx asking if he's responsible. Grayson was the best software engineer out there, but no matter how hard he tries he can't get through the Nemesis Platform's firewall to find out who their founder Nyx is. He has become obsessed trying to find the woman he has such a connection.

Aria is just put the finishing touches on her brother’s birthday cake. They weren't only celebrating his birthday but also his finishing his residency. He always said he'd be a doctor before thirty and he had. She was so proud of him. Since the death of their parents over a decade ago she makes him a themed birthday cake every year. He may be going on 30, but the excitement he gets when he sees her cakes makes her heart swell.

Her boyfriend Brad is upset with her that she kept her friendship with Grayson a secret from him and begs her to use her friendship to get him an in at Grayson's software company. She hates taking advantage of their friendship, but doesn't know how to avoid it and keep Brad happy.

I so loved this book! The storyline kept me laughing, but oh how I cried. The bad pickup lines from Ash to Lyx were hilarious they were so bad.

I loved Aria and her struggles to find normalcy after finding both of her parents murdered in a home invasion. But, that vulnerability led to her being taken advantage of because she was tired of feeling broken.

I HATED Brad from the first sentence he was mentioned. I knew immediately what he was doing, but it was only the beginning of his sins. He deserved much more than the punishment he received.

Grayson is what book boyfriends are made of. A tall, gorgeous, brooding and protective man. There is nothing he won't do for his family. Noah and Aria may not be his blood, but his best friend and his sister are the most important people in his life. I loved the sexual chemistry between Grayson and Aria, but I heartbroken and cried so much that Grayson's lifelong dream caused him so much damaging pain.

I fell in love with Catharina Maura in the Mayhem series and this book is just further proof what an excellent author she is. This book hit all my emotions and I can't wait until Noah's story is released and I can already tell it is going to be a doozy!

Highly recommend this book and everything written by Catharina Maura!

Catharina Maura does it again! She sprinkles her magic dust and creates a new beautiful love story. I was burning with anticipation the moment I saw she was releasing a new book!!

I loved Grayson and Aria. So damn much. Page after page I found myself so invested in them. This author has an easy way of making you instantly care for her characters. I was hooked from the start and really connected to Gray and Ari. Especially Grayson stole my heart with how amazing he was...kind, funny, super talented, thoughtful, and hot. He's pure swoon and heart. Talk about raising the bar, guys! Oh my God, and their chemistry as a couple was amazing, I loved the intimacy. One thing I can always count on from Mrs. Maura is that she is the best at intimate scenes.  She writes serious 🔥🔥🔥

description

I enjoyed it all about the book, but something that I loved about it, and what I've loved about every book by this author, is that she takes these well-known tropes but she always manages to create these original stories within them, she gives them a special turn and edge that I have never read in any other books. Her storylines always have so many elements of originality. All that idea about the vigilante platform is brilliant. I also found it very refreshing that Aria felt insecure about her body and she described her body as having flaws, flaws that make it relatable :) Grayson also showed us his vulnerabilities and that made him **Oh God..** freaking irresistible. I found the whole story and the subplots very interesting and different from the usual ordinary that abounds in the majority of romance books.

I enjoyed the epilogue so much and I'm so looking forward to Noah's story. I loved how Dr. Grant and Amara met, I snorted when I read it!!!

Oh, and you get to see a little bit of Elliot from Forever After All.

Last but not least, absolutely loooove the cover!!!!!!!!
