TRUE CONFESSION: I selected "ALIBI" because I enjoyed James Romick's narration of "THE BOOK DOCTOR" by Britney King. Yes, this book's narrator impacted my decision to try this book. James Romick's elocution is very similar to Michael Kramer, one of my favorite narrators, and when I listened to THE BOOK DOCTOR, I was instantly hooked.

GREAT NEWS: ALIBI'S talented narrator did not disappoint! ALIBI was fast-paced with many twists/turns and strong character development. When I listened to THE BOOK DOCTOR, I felt that the narration was much better than the book. This time, I enjoyed both the book AND the narration.

This is my first book by John McCarty and I look forward to his future titles.

I like John's writing style. The usual plot, wife murdered, husband a person of interest, evidence piled up against him, he's the only one that can clear himself, then a very unusual. off the wall, ending. It completely took me by surprise. well done, john.

Loved the setting, loved the characters and loved the sense of a modern thriller being “out of time” in a hard boiled detective type story. Really well written and carefully thought through in all aspects - characterisation, dialogue, plot and setting.

How do you prove you didn't kill your wife if all of your alibis end up dead too? That's the dilemma Martin finds himself in. As the police are trying to find him, Martin is trying to prove he didn't kill his wife. Basic murder mystery. Decent characters and plot.
