USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.
This book ends the series and I'm glad, there is only so many times you can do the same thing. I'm sort of torn with how this one ended, who the groom was. I sort of wish it would have been the other guy. I do know what went down at the church was deplorable, both guys should never have let it go that long, nor should the best man been who it was.
The wrap up of a long running series is a tricky thing for an author. Bond obviously loves these characters, she has lived with them for over 10 years, but the time has come for this series to end. Lots to wrap up here, but to detail it all would be the mother of all spoilers, so I'm just going to say that I'm happy the way things tuned out. I highly recommend that you read the last three books closely together. They are like a trilogy within the series and the events are closely linked.
And then there were two, men left standing that is. Carlotta has finally decided which man she wants to spend her life with. She envisions a calm serene marriage full of passion and love with a lovely home and children. That's the vision, anyway. But, she has some business to take care of before she can say I Do.
Carlotta has finally decided to become her own boss and is starting a personal shopper business and her first client is Jack. He needs to look spiffy for his new job and Carlotta is just the shopper to make him look as hot as he really is. A referral from Neimans sets her on the course to proving the death of a former coworker was murder. Wes has finally decided to take control of his life, but almost blows it, again. Randolph moves in mysterious ways but really does have Wes and Carlotta's best interests at heart. In finding out the identity of her real father, Carlotta decides that Randolph wasn't so bad a dad after all.
The wedding. What can I say? Everyone agrees that she chose a great guy. He loves her and their life will never be boring.
Have been a fan of this series for years. Very disappointing ending of the book and series. I was overlooking the dozens of typos, grammatical errors and forced plot because I love the characters but the ending was so bad it's angering. I was ok with it until the wrong guy got out of the limo and then just disgusted the last few pages. Very out of character for all of them - surely there was a better way to end this? I'm surprised there aren't more poor reviews.
I have loved this series for many years & I’m sad to say this was one of the weakest in the entire series. I love Stephanie Bond’s books but this one felt like she rushed it to just get it out there. All of the characters deserved a better finale than this from start to finish. That’s not even touching on the ending itself which was rushed & ridiculous.
Obviously you have to suspend disbelief for this series to a large degree but to break up someone’s wedding, get married, hook up in a run down hotel then leave your new wife seconds after sex because “you’re on call”? Come on. He knew he was going to be in the wedding so there’s no way he was on call. Ugh. Carlotta deserved better than this. Wes deserved a better ending too, Even if just a statement in an epilogue saying what became of him. Coop deserved WAY better than that. Take a beloved character & treat him like trash after getting readers to care about him & his drinking problem over years. That’s not being disgruntled as to she ended up with. That’s just mistreating a good character for no reason. They literally say “he’ll get over it and have a drink somewhere”. Callous.
The book didn’t even do the mystery well which is out of character for Ms Bond’s books. To sum up a multi book story line in a quick bathroom scene but have no statement of what became of the murderers once it was discovered? Just really disappointing.
I saw the author’s note about how hard she worked to get this series out there. All the more reason this series deserved a better send off. It makes me sad because we’ve loved these characters for years but this book doesn’t do them or her own work justice.

This is the 12th and final book in this series. I have been a fan of these series for years. Carlotta and the others feel like old friends. Through every book, we get to know the characters, and you fall in love with them. This book hit me with all the feels. Happy to see how the characters lives finally worked out, but sad to see it end. You get attached to these characters, and want to keep the series open forever. But I’m glad the characters got their happily ever afters. And I have to say, I’m happy with how it ended. I definitely recommend this entire series is you want to meet characters that you’re going to fall in love with. With every book feeling like you’re meeting up with old friends.
A satisfying ending for a fun series. I've rooted for the characters and complained when they made stupid decisions. I complained when some of the books ended with cliff hangers. I am glad I stuck with it. Especially when the series stopped for three years after book 6. It was finally self published by the author for the last six books. This final installment gives closure to all the characters and I think goes in the right direction.
The Body Movers series has finally come to an end with a wedding and a mystery solved by Carlotta (of course!). I just loved this series, have followed it since the beginning and even with years between some books I never lost interest. I thought I would be sad to see it end but if it had to then I’m glad for the way Bond ended it. Even so, I hope we get some glimpses into the future for Carlotta, Wes, Hannah, Jack, Prissy, Coop, Jack, and even Mouse!
I was hooked on all the books in the series but the last few chapters in the final book I found terrible a dog act.I was going to read more of Stephane Bonds books before I finished this book but the ending of a 12 book series was pathetic I like books with twist but this twist was a sick twist…….
I could not put this book down, I read it in one very happy day! Stephanie Bond hit it out of the ball park with the last Body Movers 12 & a Wedding book. The entire book was tying up loose ends from the last Body Movers books that always leaves more questions than answers. Let me tell you this book tied everything up in a explosive ending big bow. I will not give away any spoilers except to say through the whole book you were questioning the wedding part of this book. I for one could not be more estastic, in the way the book ended. Please read the whole series any time you wondered where Carlotta could end up Body Movers 12 and a Wedding brings a happy ending to every question you ever had. You will have a big happy smile on your face, and shake your head how all the pieces of the book played out. I am so sorry the series is over, will this be the last we see of Carlotta, Hannah, Coop, Jack & Wes? Somehow I doubt it, they are just too great of Character's to not pop up here or there in the WONDERFUL stories Stephanie Bond creates. Don't miss this fabulous book, be sure to put it first on your summer beach reading list!
Hated to see this series end. But as the saying goes....all good things must come to an end. I loved this series. And thank you Stephanie Bond for your persistence in getting this series published. I can only hope the networks wake up and one of them picks The Body Movers up and makes a television series. The whole series was a delight. Looking forward to more good reads from MS Bond.
I really enjoyed most of the book, but the ending felt a bit silly and throw away. I thought it was another dream sequence and was surprised when it turned out to be the actual ending. I will miss this series.
I enjoyed reading this series and I'm very sorry to hear that it has ended. I have come to love the characters like family! I was also in the air about how this should end but I'm happy with the ending but like other readers I'm sure they feel bad for Coop. If there is a way to keep this going I'm all for it! I read a lot of your series' so keep writing!
I've been holding off on writing reviews for the individual books in the series - but let me just tell you I sorely wish I'd never read this book. I'm disgusted, and disappointed, in Carlotta. The whole fact of the matter is that this was a horrible way to end the series. Poor Coop. Screw Jack.
This book felt like the author just didn't care anymore. The mystery/crime was weak, the ending was terrible, many of the characters just became unlikable, and there were loose ends that were just left dangling. There were also references to things said or done in prior books that were incorrect. I loved the series up to this point, but this one ruined it for me.
I have loved these characters from the beginning and how they evolved through the years. I won't spoil the ending except for this part, Carlotta ended up with the right man and the one I cheered on from the beginning. I just hate that it has ended. Well done!
This series had a few bumps in the road to be completed, but it has been worth the wait. I have loved every book in the series and I'm a little sad to see the series end. It's been a great ride.
Series had a good beginning then just became ridiculous
The mysteries within the stories were worthwhile, but Carlotta's love life was so deplorable that it was painful to read about, so I then chose to skip all references to her and her suitors!
If you have not read the Body Movers Series of books, shame on you. You are missing out on really great books. Carlotta and Wes are brother and sister who have been through "hell". Carlotta is marrying the man of her dreams, Wes is torn up as his love Meg, is missing in Ireland and he can't travel to search for her, on top of the fact that his father, Randolph, is pushing him to partnership in a golf complex. He hates the thought of a life stuck on golf courses. Carlotta and Wes have an unbreakable bond and I love that about them. I LOVE THESE BOOKS.
For the last six months, I’ve worked my way through all 12 audiobooks in the Body Movers series. Many were cute. Book 11 was the worst. Mouse was my favorite character. What a good friend.
Engaging until the last page! Stephanie does it again! Everything is going according to plan and then WOAH did not see that coming! Great end to the series! Sad to see characters go, though I do love how some creep into other books!
I have been a big fan of this series from early on and have read the books many times. It is sad to see it end but all good things must end as the saying goes. It was fun to relive many of the events, people and memories from the other books. There was closure for most of the characters, loose ends tied up, secrets revealed and it was all well done. Carlotta's wedding of course is the center of this story but the death of her coworker Patricia is also a big part of it. I don't want to ruin the story, but I was very happy with the ending! This was a very enjoyable, satisfying sexy cozy mystery! Thank you Stephanie Bond for many happy hours over the years keeping up with Carlotta, Wes, Jack, Coop, Peter, Hannah and the other characters. #BodyMovers #StephanieBond #TeamJack
I e read about 50 of Stephanie Bond’s books and I’ve never been disappointed. Even novels I was hesitant to read, like this series. Really, who wants to read about moving bodies and a morgue? Some folks, not me though. I did though, one after the other. They were all great, worth being recommended. This time I was cheering for the happy ending all the way. She just surprised me with it anyway!
Wow! Not how I pictured this ending!!! I guess I should have seen it coming though. I love the series and am very sad to see it end, but I believe that it ended on a good note.
I was hoping for a bit more danger than it presented, but at least a lot of questions were answered and mysteries were solved. Would love to see a spin off of Meg and Wes.
I can't believe how the book ended. It was an amazing way to get some many things tied up. Thankful there was enough left unsaid for another book. This is more than I expected.
