Scars was a twisted and depraved reverse harem filled with questionable moments. It was a book I didn’t know I needed, but now I do. Fast paced, action packed and raunchy as hell. This is the first book in the Triad Series.
In a world where her own family wants her dead, who is the actual threat? Them or The Triad that have taken her as collateral?
Almost being murdered in her bedroom, a 21 years old Scarlet Dulca fled from home. In hiding for the last 3 years, she is now a hostage or is she really? One ballsy, kickass heroine with a sexual appetite that will require three men to appease. Maybe they should keep her, knowing now that Scarlet's bloodlust matches theirs.
I had stopped questioning the shit that made me horny lately. Clearly I was fucked in the head, but so were they, so whatever. I liked what I liked.
The Triad consists of the leader, the enforcer and the bodyguard. Tristan, Sebastian and Elliot. Three crazy motherfuckers who rule their seedy underworld territory and see a potential weapon in Scarlet. Except when they took her, neither anticipated how well she’d fit in or how badly all three would want her. The clincher? Scarlett wants to stay, to be used, to be owned.

I may have picked this book up based on the cover and blurb, but damn did this hit all the good spots. Crazy, steamy and thrilling. The only downside is waiting for the rest of the books in this series. How wonderful to have discovered a new author.

tbh the writing was kinda inconsistent. there were times i actually liked it & times i cringed sooo 😶
but here are few scenes i liked
’His fingers dipped lower onto my collarbone and traced the dark outlines of my chest tattoo. And then lower.
“Seb, quit playing with the new toy, please.” Tristan’s voice was like a bucket of cold water. I had literally just been kidnapped. And here I was like a bitch in heat from a few soft touches on my bruised neck.’
no annoying characters?? thats a plus in in my book
”Shoes off,” he said, pointing at my boots.
Holding my shirt to the front of me as I bent over, I unlaced them and slipped them off. I picked them up to take them upstairs with me, but he shook his head.
“These cost more money than I had to spend, asshole. I’m not leaving them lying around in a strange house.”
“Scarlet, seriously. We are holding you for ransom and you think we are going to fuck with your shoes?” I shrugged and hugged them tighter to my chest. He sighed.
2 stars seemed harsh huh? bcs this was really not bad. but idunno blame it on my slump or whatever but yeah
’His other hand came up to my face and he trailed his finger lightly over the scar. “Who did that to you, little one?”
“Someone that definitely didn’t get what they deserved.”
“Mm,” he murmured, taking my jaw in his hand and running his thumb along the jagged line instead. He nuzzled his face into my hair. “I can remedy that. Do you want to hear what I would do to them, princess?” Before I could stop myself, I gave a slight nod. Despite myself, I was curious as to what his particular brand of torture would be.
“I would cut off each and every finger that touched you, knuckle by knuckle.” His breath was hot against my ear as he took it between his teeth. “I would string them up and cut them all over their body just as they cut you. I would cauterize each wound so that they didn’t bleed out and die too quickly. I like to play with my food.” I squeezed my thighs together at the ache growing there. “I would let you watch,” he said as he licked my scar.
God, this should really not be doing things to my body.
“You can sleep now, little one.” He rolled off the bed and jumped onto his feet. “Sleep well knowing I will personally castrate anyone who tries to put their filthy hands on you.” And with that, he was out the door, locking it quickly behind him.
ohh i know what my other prob was; things between the mcs just moved too quickly / easily for my taste. this was pretty short, but it is gonna be a series, so why not take ur time??

This was a bunch of tropes and popular concepts regurgitated into a very fast burn and underdeveloped plot. Like, the ideas were there and the initial plot was good. But the pace and character development were a mess.
Plus, the romance was filled with misogynistic and toxic concepts. The sex scenes read like scripts of bad porno, where women appear to enjoy being choked, spitted at and brutally bruised during sex.
And the icing on the cake was reading the three guys complaining about the girl’s dad calling her a slut and next scene, one of them calling her just that during sex.

Scarlet Izabela Dulca ran away from home at the age of 21, because someone had ordered her to be murdered in her family home. Not knowing who ordered it Scarlet ran because it was under the same roof as her crime boss father and all the family with all the Dulca guards, so it must have been an inside job, right? Scarlet was the only heir to her fathers Dommul Dulca organized crime family dynasty and at 21 she was due all her inheritance. Scarlet went from being Dulca princess to working 3 to 4 jobs living hand to mouth just to be able to live and feed herself.
Scarlet manage to hide for three years safely that is until The Triad heard Scarlet was hiding in their city. They want to bargain Scarlet, they wanted Dommul Dulca to stay out their city. However, what they found was a sassy, smart mouth heroine that could hold her own she was no damsel. Scarlet taste for blood mimic their own and it took all three Triad's to settle her. So now Tristian, Sebastian & Elliot find themselves wondering if she better off being sold back to her family or can she fit into their organization and becomes family. This was an amazing read for me I just hate that I have to wait for second book because of course it has a cliffy!!!

This is litterally another version of den of vipers except rosxy is now scarlett and a little more badass. That being said I don’t like how she immediately “became one of them” and the insta lust i didn’t mind it per say but 10 chapters on insta lust, protectiveness and overall a bit boring flirty banter is not enough for me to continue the story. I also didn’t particularly like den of vipers much and this book is way to similar for me to want to continue, however I can say that if this author was going for the den of vipers vibe, intentional or not I would’ve liked a little slowburn. I wouldn’t care if Scar fucked all three of them in the first chapter but this whole “she’s one of us” is 👎 and it’s threading on “I love you” vibes. It could’ve been fuck now feelings later ya know.
I also don’t like the way Scar thinks of women it’s threading a little (very small) into “I’m not like other girls” lane and truthfully it’s off putting. She says that she hates other girls because they’re bratty and fake etc and she only has one female friend, Kenna. (She also was attracted to Kenna so I think it’s why she even stuck around kenna) I hate how she pooping bitchy women she’s encountered with the whole female population as if men can’t be the same way if not worse. It’s petty but it just rubbed me the wrong way I guess, I always find it sus whenever women cannot befriend women. I also don’t like how Emma was made to be this jealous bitch because she fucked the Triad. Not every single women that isn’t the MC and friends has to be villianized. Emma is a stylist; they could’ve formed a decent friendship starting from clothes despite her sexual transgressions. Anywyas decent plot and i probably would’ve stuck around if it wasn’t so close to den of vipers even down to the men.

2022 reads book 21
Damn cliffhanger at the end! Not going to lie, this is mostly smut with a tiny plot thrown in, but I've read worse. Like most of these books, the smut seemed to happen pretty quickly seeing how she was kinda kidnapped by them, but she didn't seem to mind at all so I'm not judging too hard.
TW: The smut moves into messed up and gory territory, lots of blood, stabbing, people getting shot etc

3.5 stars. Good start to the series. Definitely recommend to fans of Den of Vipers-K.A Knight , or The Reaper Incarnate - C.A Rene/R.E Bond.

I’m really enjoying this so far.
Scarlett is a total badass. I love her.
And I love psycho men so all the guys are great, but Seb is really adorable with Scar, honestly.
I’m excited to see where this is going.
I wanna see the carnage and chaos that that ending is gonna cause.
I just know it’s gonna be epic, and I can’t wait.

Great Debut Novel
Well, simply put I am glad I waited for the second book in the series to come out because I would really suffer hard due to the brutal cliffhanger. Right after writing this review I am starting the second book in the series Liars😁. I don’t want to ruin your reading pleasure by giving away spoilers but I can at least tell you that Scars have delicious intimate moments with just the right amount of spice and since it’s an RH book, we get three possessive, jealous and gorgeous guys who claim the heroine who is as badazz as the guys and their banter and push and pull is swoon-worthy. Dana Isaly also manages to brilliantly insert several brutal action scenes and some twists with secrets that keep the reader on their toes. So, if you’re thinking about grabbing this book, I say definitely go for it.

i came across this book through tiktok and was excited to read it because the synopsis sounded promising. much to my disappointment this book read and was structured like a wattpad book i read when i was 14.
the plot has a lot of potential but it was completely neglected by the author. the author focused too much on the relationships (not in a good way) to the point where this read as a rom-com. as i was reading i completely forgot that this was supposed to be a “dark romance”. the 3 male characters are not intimidating or realistic at all. which brings me to my next point, insta love? in 2021? c’mon! the girl was supposed to be kidnapped yet she was placed in a room filled with all her toiletries and clothes, was given free reign of the safe house, and was shown around the mansion grounds. this book has a kidnapped by 1D type of beat. it’s super cringy.
also, in case you guys missed it, the girl is not like other girls at all. she looooves to eat greasy foods like pizza, fries, and hamburgers, wears combat boots, doesn’t like to be friends with other girls because they’re bratty and snobby (even though she is a brat and a snob) unless, she’s attracted to them then the girl is okay, she’s also good with guns and can sorta fight (whaaaaaaaaat). she’s not like other girls at all! it truly pains me when grown ass women write this type of female characters. i think we’ve made enough progress to know that hating other girls is not cool or quirky.
overall, this book is a cringe fest.

Very Honest Review.
My best friend RAVED about this book. I was unsure it was for me at first. I wasnt crazy about the beginning because it seems to move so fast compared to the rest of the book. I feel like it was rushed. This is also an insta-lust. There wasnt much conflict between the characters as they pretty much fell into a relationship right off the bat, other than Elliot.
Something else that bothered me about this book is that it was almost an identical story line as Den Of Vipers. Even the characters were similar. Sebastian was Diesel, Tristan was Ryder, and Elliot was Garrett. Once I realized that, it deterred from the book for me. All I could think about were the similarities.
Once I got passed the rushed beginning, the story development improved and I did end up really enjoying it by the end. I did feel like there could have been more to this. The author could have developed the story line further and the book could have given us more background and more present day between the main characters.
Over all, it was a good short read. I will be looking forward to the next book to see how the author runs with this story line. I have high hopes considering how this book improved the further in I got.

I liked all the elements of the book :
1) fun heroine Scarlette/Scar.💅
2) Even more fun boys: Elliot (Jason Mamoa type player), Tristian (platinum-haired player) and Sebastian (dark-haired player). 😍😍😍
3) The plot is some type of gang/mob - Romanian style? Like idk and didn't care at all...
4) the setting (England (?) ) and some unnamed cities. Raves, high-end clubs, Victorian mansions, and skyscrapers and penthouses.
5) love all the richy-richy elements - decor, clothes, locations💰💰💰💰💰💰
What bothered me was the character development or lack thereof. There were allusions to past trauma which shaped our MCs but it didn't feel fully fleshed out enough.
The way the boys caught feelings for Scar was a bit too cheesy and cringy. I was expecting more of slow development and not so much insta love.
I also thought that Scar was made to be an over-the-top badass but not in a real or believable way bc it was not shown either by back story or her earning her badass mantel. Therefore, it seemed really cheesy.
I'm still invested, and I am looking forward to getting to know these characters in spite of the issues around pacing and story/romance development.

I also thought that Scar was made to be an over-the-top badass but not in a real or believable way bc it was not shown either by back story or her earning her badass mantel. Therefore, it seemed really cheesy.
I'm still invested, and I am looking forward to getting to know these characters in spite of the issues around pacing and story/romance development.

Move over Den of Vipers I couldn't put this book down and not sure how I'm going to manage to wait for the arrival of the next instalment!
We've got a kickass strong FMC; a diverse, insanely hot harem; the perfect amount of darkness while still being entertaining; all the burns (from simmering ETL to flashbang); and DI still managed to add in emotional moments that pull at the heart. See! What more could you ask for from a book.

i loved this. scarlet is such a badass in this book and she is such a mood throughout the entire thing. seb is my sweet cinnamon roll dough boy. he’s so loving. then there’s tristan the brains and elliot the cold hearted one. i cant wait for the next book!!! i don’t want to spoil anything since it’s not exactly out yet but i hope every enjoys it when it does come out!!

It’s truly hard to believe this is Dana’s debut novel. This is one of the best RH books I’ve ever read. I’m obsessed with the storyline and every single character. I can’t freaking wait for book 2.
