A lonely human finds her mate in a soldier wolf...

This wasn't my favorite read by C. Ayers as I don't really enjoy the secret baby trope. However, Sonnie didn't keep the secret from Holt for long, even though he was a total jackass to her and deserved her wrath. Sonnie's backstory was heartbreaking, but I loved how she didn't just give in to Holt and made him grovel. Even though I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others, I'm still happy I read it and look forward to the next in the series ♡

Sonnie is one of the residents and non-shifter of Hell's Corner, every time the girls have their weekly get togethers Sonnie wishes she could shift into an animal like her girlfriends do. She especially wishes she could have a mate, but alas, she's a weak human. When she catches sight of her best friend Charlie's brother Holt, she swears she's never seen a finer piece of man. But what hope can she have, after all she's short and chubby, so she has no expectations.

Holt just retired from the military, which is what he's ever known, now my baby sister Charlie wants to set me up with a wolf shifter friend who is a model. When I agree to go to a speed dating event his sister's best friend has set up (she just wants to set me up with her friend Dana) I am flabbergasted by the sight of this short curvy beauty I see, not to mention that my wolf is pushing me to get close to her. She's my mate!

Things come to light and Holt may have to grovel to get Sonnie back, he has Charlie, his mamma and practically all of Helen's Corner mad at him.

What a fun story! So hilarious at times, and yet poignant too.

Sonnie is the only human amongst her friends - who all happen to be shifters. Although they appear to be a tight-knit group, Sonnie has often felt like the odd person out, especially when her friends take off to run and play in their shifted form. She feels less worthy because she’s “only” human, when comparing herself to her shifter friends.

Holt has been serving in the military and expects to have a few weeks of peace and quiet at his sister Charlie’s home, before his entire family shows up for Thanksgiving. Instead, his sister insists on him attending her best friends latest event, a speed dating event. Charlie’s best friend? Sonnie. As soon as Holt meets Sonnie, he and his wolf sense she’s someone special and he wants her.

Sonnie is such a wonderful character - witty and adventurous. She owns her own flower shop and is a successful businesswoman in the community. Behind her wit however, is a woman who harbors some deep insecurities...and after a night with Holt that leaves her pregnant, she’s questioning everything. Sonnie isn’t convinced that an attractive shifter like Holt would be interested in her...in the long run.

You will enjoy the rollercoaster ride of Sonnie and Holt’s story. There are ups and downs, and as I mentioned above, lots of laughs and some very poignant moments as well.

Overall a great feel-good story!

Wolf Soldier is the third book in the She-Shifters of Hell’s Corner series, and while characters return, it can stand alone. Sonnie is a human living in a town full of her best friends who are all shifters and slowly finding mates. Holt has just returned state side from being active duty and is trying to figure out his next steps for his future. Their first meeting, he knows she’s something special, but both feeling insecurities, is desire enough to keep them together? Add in a crazy, but helpful, family, a heaping of guilt, and a surprise that brings back past emotions, will Holt be able to tell Sonnie she’s his mate?

Oh wow, I’ve really enjoyed this series so far and loved this book! Sonnie’s past just about broke my heart, but I absolutely loved the support she found through her friends. Holt was so torn, between his duty and his heart, but I loved his decision he made in the end. I liked that they were facing different dilemmas in their current life, and they were both almost intimidated by each other. I love that just because you’re mates, doesn’t mean it’s an easy ending. Holt’s family was rambunctious and offered some humor into a pretty serious situation and Mama Jean was definitely the best supporting character! As mentioned earlier, I loved this book, and if you are a lover of shifter romances, I highly recommend this series!

An Awesome Read!

I loved reading Wolf Soldier(Shifters Of Hell’s Corner Book 3). All about Sonnie Chaplan a young women who owns her own flower shop and she’s human & Holt Monroe is a Wolf shifter and Charlie’s older brother. He’s visiting his sister for Thanksgiving while he contemplates re-enlisting in the military. His expertise is disarming bombs, and he got hurt on his last mission, he’s recovered but just is not sure civilian life is for him! While visiting his sister he meets her BFF Sonnie, at a Speed dating event she’s hosting at her shop. He is instantly attracted to her, and knows she’s his mate, but dismisses it. The author wrote a story about a young women who has always yearned to be a shifter, because having a mate is the best possible scenario and they won’t ever leave you , cause you mate for life! Read about Sonnie and Holt and the amazing hook-up they had, and see what other adventures the two can get up to down the road! I’m loving reading this series. It’s about a different women in this town made up of mostly women and how they find their mates as they go about living day to day! I can not wait to read book 4!!

Candace Ayers has written a beautiful steamy addition to the She-Shifters of Hell's Corner series. Sonnie is the pretty human in the midst of the female group of shape shifters. She is lonely and wishes she was a shifter and could find her true mate like the others. Gorgeous Holt is Charlie's older brother and in town for the holiday season. Charlie is trying to match him up with a beautiful shifter model but he has no interest in her. When he sees Sonnie his wolf is excited, she is his mate. But she is human and his sisters best friend. Sonnie is also extremely attracted to Holt and doesn't understand why she can't stop thinking of him. They get together for one hot night but something happens to keep them apart. “Wolf Soldier” is sexy, romantic, MUST HAVE book that is really worth your time and I definitely recommend it to romance lovers.

I love the women of Hell’s Corner. The majority of the town is women. Sonnie is a human that owns the flower shop in town and is trying to increase her business. So a speed dating business is just what the women are needing. Charlie is Sonnie’s best friend and has decided she needs to find her brother, Holt, a mate now he’s back from the service. She cons him into supporting her friend’s new business, but doesn’t tell him that it’s a dating service. When Sonnie and Holt see each other, sparks fly. I loved how Holt took his time in the beginning to get Sonnie’s attention. I was a bit disappointed in him when things got messy and he just kinda rolled over and gave up. That’s the last thing I expected a soldier to do. I adored Mama Jean. She is the epitome of a nurturing mother. I loved the support she gave Sonnie. This was another terrific addition to the She-Shifter’s of Hell’s Corner. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I'm a Paranormal Romance stalker. I have admired Candace Ayers writing from afar, but I really enjoyed reading The She-Shifters of Hell's Corner series. This is a well-written paranormal read. It's fast paced and well written story, what a Awesome and Charming story. The characters are engaging and very enjoyable. The scenes are sensual, explicit and lovable. This is story is a enjoyable read it's so engaging and will totally hold your interest. This is book 3 in this series and great one to read, but it's not my first or last book of Candace Ayers I intend to read after thoroughly enjoying this book. The characters were well developed and the dialogue is scorching hot, witty, and a tear jerker. This story has a lot of romance, a sensitive story with strong characters, steamy sex and a good HEA and this story has those elements so, I enjoyed it a lot.

I liked this book about a human who finally gets her HEA. Sonnie owns a flower store in Helen's Corner and hangs with her shifter friends. She is a little jealous of their shifting ability, and very jealous of the fated mate thing that can happen for them. She is lonely even though she has her kick butt friends. When Charlie's brother comes to visit, Sonnie is immediately drawn to him, but what would a glorious hunk of a wolf shifter ever see in the her?

Holt is happy to be visiting his sister in the unique little town she calls home, but he has no desire to date one of her model friends. When she drags him to a speed dating event he is surprised to find himself attracted to the cute little human who is hosting the event. His wolf is telling him she is their mate, but that can't be right, can it?

Find out what happens when a former soldier finds out his new mission is to convince a feisty human woman that she is his.

This is a really good shifter romance. 💗🐻💗

I enjoyed reading this book because the characters were easy to relate to and the story was so emotional. Sonnie lives in a town devoted to shifters. Her best friends are all shifters and she feels left out since she is only human but she won't show them how she feels. It's only when her best friend, Charlie, finally gets to host a holiday meal at her home and her brother, Holt is coming for a visit after leaving the military. The bad thing is that Charlie wants to set him up with another shifter and doesn't even think about maybe setting him up with Sonnie. And it only gets worse when Holt realizes that Sonnie is his mate. But there is a happily ever after with lots of heat and passion. 😉💞

Best one of the series yet. Sonnie lives in Helen's Corner with her four best friends, she loves her friends and the meetings they hold, but she always feels left out. She is human, and her best friends are all shifters. She ran to escape her heartbreaking past and yet she still feels alone. When one of her best friends brother comes into town she starts to feel different. Humans can't have true mates, right? Holt is out of the military and visiting his sister when he starts to feel a pull to the most amazing woman. He knew she was is mate, but what did he have to offer her? One night of passion? Sonnie and Holts have so much to work through, but Holt's sister Charlie (Sonnie's best friend) and his family are there and putting in there opinions. This book is funny, heartbreaking yet funny. And for Sonnie her life comes full circle. A great HEA

Holt just got out of the military and his sister charlie wants him to come home for xmas, she is always trying to get him to go on dates.

He meets Charlies friend Sonnie and instantly feels attracted to her and so does his wolf ( as hes a shapeshifter wolf).
Hes pretty sure shes his mate.
He meets her when she is running a speed dating at her store, as she runs her own business.

They sleep together and she gets pregnant and everyone finds out and Holt tries to be with her but she pushes him away because of her past.

A wonderfully sexy book , love the sex scenes and how much holt and sonnie are attracted to each other and they just know they are to be together.
I like it how everyone is there for sonnie when she finds out she is pregnant.
I would definitely recommend this book, i loved it and couldnt put it down.

Sonny and Holt

Sonny had a difficult life before coming to Helen's Corner. Now she has a group of friends but feels like the odd man out because she is human and they are all shifters. Her self confidence is low because of things that happened when she was sixteen.
Holt is Charlie's brother. He has served in the military most of his life. His term is up do he is visiting Charlie for a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving. He meets Sonny and realizes that she is his mate but doesn't tell her because he has plans to re-enlist and doesn't want her to have to worry about him.
Things go wrong when truths are omitted and they each suffer the consequences.
This is a story that will bring a tear to your eye. They get their happy ever after but the struggle is enough to break your heart. Loved this story.

Human Sonnie Chaplan is different from her circle of friends… they’re all shifters, and they don’t realize how often their off-hand comments hurt or how lonesome she is or how much she’d love a true mate of her own or at least the possibility of one. At least her best friend, Charlie’s, latest comment gave way to Sonnie’s brilliant idea of bringing speed-dating to town.

Charlie’s ecstatic her family’s visiting for the holidays and especially to see her brother, retired marine, Holt Monroe who’s coming in early and she sure she knows the perfect woman for him. Too bad, Charlie’s friend, Sonnie is all Holt or his wolf can think about and the only woman he wants to be around and the feeling’s mutual until Holt accidently falls into Charlie’s plan then Sonnie sees the past repeating itself.

Author back on track

Sonnie and Holt's story was really good. I just loved the laugh out loud moments! Holt is a Wolf Shifter who has gone to visit his sister. He has just left the military and has not decided if he is going to reenlist. He meets a tiny and beautiful human who he feels a pull towards. Sonnie, meets her best friends brother who is absolutely hot. These are the moments that she wishes she was a shifter like all of her girlfriends are, but unfortunately that is not the case she knows she will never have what they have because she is just a human.

I was so happy to see that the author got back on track with book 3. This one was even better than book one. I'm glad I stuck with the series because it now is even better.

Great combination of sweet, sexy, funny, and even a bit of dealing with past heartbreak. It's always fun to see the fearless alpha male brought to his knees by a situation he doesn't know how to handle and what better to do that than a mate and unplanned pregnancy. The attraction and chemistry between Sonnie and Holt is so good and the dialogue and situations are quite often laugh out loud hilarious. The book does work well as a standalone, but I love getting to revisit past favorites with each new addition. This is my favorite Hell's Corner book so far and I can't wait to see what's next for the series.

Sonnie is one of the few humans in the community and wishes she could find a mate like her friends. Holt is a shifter who has been serving in the military and has a tough choice to make about the future. He is not sure he should acknowledge his attraction to his sister's friend. They can only deny it for so long.

It is a well written book that definitely kept my attention. I liked the characters. I felt sad for Sonnie who felt so alone. Holt was also very lonely and unsure of his future. Communication was their issue. They did not open up and really share their feelings. The surprise pregnancy really changes things for them.

Mated pair
This the third book in the she-shifters series but it can be read as a standalone. The two main characters have excellent dynamics. Sonnie aches to be and have a mate. She doesn’t think that can possibly happen because she’s a human. Besides she thinks she is unworthy because she did something horrible when she was young. Holt is a soldier and doesn’t know how to do anything else. He doesn’t think he has anything to offer a mate. The storyline is very interesting. The story flows really well from scene to scene. Sonnie’s sassy and smart. I love to read about Alphas falling for their one true mates. There is insta-attraction between these two as soon as they meet. There are some very hot steamy sexy scenes between these two. It was a fun, quick read. I recommend this book.

I really enjoyed Wolf Soldier for what it was at its heart: a story about realizing what truly matters. The instant attraction between Holt and Sonnie was electric, but what kept me hooked was how both of them wrestled with their own insecurities around being a good mate. It wasn’t just about claiming each other—it was about deserving each other, and that made their connection feel earned.

Still, the emotional pull was there, and the chemistry between Holt and Sonnie really carried the story. Even with the rough edges, I loved watching them navigate the bond and come to understand what they meant to each other.

Wolf Soldier (She-Shifters of Hell's Corner Book 3) is a wonderful read and a great addition to this series. A well written book that offers an engaging plot and complex characters. An emotional read that packs a punch. A shifter/ human romance that takes place in a remarkable town and has a cast of characters that adds so much to your reading enjoyment. With drama, steam, angst and heartache to keep you on the edge of your seat. I'm posting an honest, voluntary review after reading an advance copy of this book.

This is the 1st time I’ve read and reviewed for this author and this book was absolutely fantastic. This is Sonnie’s and Holts story, Sonnie is human and runs a flower shop, Holt is a wolf shifter who was a soldier but has done his time in the service, he also has the opportunity to re sign up again. This is the 3rd book in the series and even though this is a standalone I’m getting the other two books. Fantastic read very well written storyline and great characters, I can’t wait to read more from this author. I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Holt Monroe is a sexy, strong alpha male with a military background and a penchant for getting what he wants. Sonnie Chaplan is his sisters best friend, a sassy female shifter that he just can't get enough of and after one night of passion she is running for the hills.. So emotional........

Holt and Sonnie's story, the third book in the She-Shifters of Hell's Corner, was very emotional, and I completely bawled my eyes out on a couple different occasions. I love the world that Candace Ayers has created, and I may have said this before, but I really want to move to Helen's Corner!!! I definitely recommend you read this book. If you haven't already read the first two in this series yet, I would suggest reading them in order due to reoccurring characters showing up in each book. Mature eyes only due to hot shifter loving! 😜

I loved Sonnie!! She is the only human among the woman shifters. They treat her like she is one of them but don't realize how truly different she feels. She wants what they have and feeling guilty is taking a toll on her.

Holt is a man who just got out of the service and who is kind of drifting. He doesn't know if he should reenlist or not. However one look at his sisters friend Sonnie and all bets are off.

My heart broke for both of these characters. Mistaken assumptions, missed conversations and meddling family members make life a little hard for these two.

Soldier and flower shop owner

Sonnie was such a dynamic character. Her past coupled with her insecurities show that she has such emotions bottled up inside her. Holt in his own way is emotionally crippled too. Being a soldier and suddenly having to find his way as a civilian leads to mishaps and hurt feelings. I enjoyed how these two fought and had to work through their feelings!

Oh boy what an awesome read. Charlies brother comes to town and gets himself in a major pickle with her best friend Sonnie, the human. How is he going to get himself out of the doghouse? Guess you have to read it to find out, because this reader does not give out spoilers. Hells Crazy Corner is about to go all out Crazy and you don't want to miss the action.

Wild berries, forest rain, and Imma Asshole

Another wonderful quick read by Candace. Holt found his mate, in a very human, Sonnie. Things get out of hand very fast because Sonnie just thought it was a hook up, since there wasn't much detail on how human mates felt. It was very hot. At times heart wrenching. The only thing I would of liked to have seen, was a reunion on her past she had to give up.
