If you think you've lost everything. Think again.

Kitty lost her father, her home and her clan. Clinging to what's left of her pride, she's forced into the neutral zone, the supposed safe haven for half-breeds and outcasts. An attack forces her to the wrong side of the treaty line and into an even more dangerous situation. Determined to greet death with the last of her dignity, she is suddenly rescued by a tall, gorgeous...wolf???

As the next alpha leader of his pack, Rafe Comyn has more than enough to handle with pack politics and precarious treaties. The last thing he needs is a pissed off feline landing in his lap, especially when her scent triggers his overwhelming drive to mate. While the daughter of a former rival is quite a conquest, she's both forbidden and dangerous.

But as the heat of desire threatens to consume them, their differences escalate and Rafe must keep his own pack from killing the one woman he can't live without.

First off, if you haven't read Eliza Gayle, shame on you. She is simply amazing. She writes the hottest alpha male characters and the most amazingly hot and steamy sex EVER! Ok, done with my rant, on to the current book!

Bad Kitty is the first in a spin off from the Black Cougar series. Kitty is the outcast daughter of the former cougar Alpha male. Her father did some VERY bad things and she has been cast out to live in the neutral territory that is "safe" for outcasts and half breeds.

Kitty is all spunk and while she has recently been exiled, she is not about to sit and lick her wounds. That is, until she is attacked and left for dead by some of the very females that she wronged in her former pack.

Kitty ran as far and as fast as she could until her body gave out on her. She wakes up and finds herself in wolf territory. Three males are circling her and they have some very unpleasant plans for her.

Rafe is the next in line to his pack. He is a wolf and his Uncle is the current Alpha. His rise to the top is simply a ceremony away. So when he finds three troublemakers of his pack circling a severely wounded female cougar shifter, he is shocked when his inner wolf perks up and takes notice of the feisty feline.

Kitty has been poisoned and her recovery should be a quick one, but it turns out to be anything but quick. She can not help the attraction that she finds herself feeling for Rafe. Her shifter senses are telling her that this man is her mate, but he is to be the Alpha, and Kitty is done being the bad guy.She knows she would never be accepted by his pack so she does everything she can to get away from this powerful male. But Rafe won't be denied.

Rafe, he is a hot one. The sexual tension between these two is utterly combustible.

Kitty has to come to terms with her exile, her potential place with Rafe and his position in the pack.

They run into a few problems when not everyone in the pack is happy to see Kitty and their soon to be Alpha. Rafe has to defend his mate and his honor.

In the end, we get some seriously HOT Rafe! This was a fine start to a new spin off series. We get introduced to several new characters and a new pack. Rafe is a super hot Alpha and I can not wait to see what trouble he and Kitty can get into. If you are looking for a fast paced, action filled, steaming hot paranormal romance...look no further. This one is a sizzler.

Four stars for me on this one. The first in a new series is always a little tricky. Lots of back-story, introducing new characters and developing a plot that will sustain the whole series... lots to do. Eliza Gayle is no newbie though and she does it all with finesse and makes it flow. I really liked Kitty. She was a tough cookie and despite her colorful past, she was a good person. Rafe is a uber hot hunk of man flesh. Wowza.

Overall a four star read and great start. Can't wait to read the rest!!!

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!

The cover is steamy and definitely entices me to pick up the book :)

I bought this book 2 years ago, and just never made time to read it until now because of time constraints. This is the 4th book in the Southern Shifters series. It is a novel for adults only due to the very steamy scenes. I have not read this series in order, but it is probably better if you do because I know there are characters and background that I should know but because I’m reading it background I don’t :)

This series is really great. Eliza is amazing at creating fantastic worlds that I would love to be in. She is one of my favorite authors. Her descriptions are always fantastic and make the world come alive.

This is Kitty and Rafe’s story. Kitty has always tried to get by though has had a penchant for trouble in the past. Rafe is an Alpha. Oh did I mention that one is a cat and one a wolf :) This makes for all sorts of fighting and drama. I loved all the action, and I will definitely read all of the books in this series as well as the new Kindle worlds series based on this world which is just epic!!! I can’t wait to read them all!!

I highly recommend this series to my shifter lovers out there especially if you already love Eliza Gayle’s work :) I’m off to read more!!

PR was my first taste in the romance genre, since that first book my love for it has never stopped. My thirst for hot PR romance never quenched. I try to read as many PR as i can as a result. It is the alpha attitude that always seems to leave me hot and bothered.
Now this book wasn't as long as my normal read but it managed to fit quite a lot in. I haven't read the books which are linked to this, not the same series but characters are shared in the books. The fact i hadn't read them wasn't a big deal as this is a standalone, I think the other books would of helped the backstory but i didn't feel as i was missing out by not reading them.
The two main characters are feisty & held my attention. The story was short but rather wild. The sex was alright, steamy enough but not mind blowing. The ending, epilogue was a cliff hanger to lead onto another book.. but not with the couple from this book, this couple got a happy ending.

PURRR-FECTLY DELIGHTFUL !!!
Title: Bad Kitty
Series: Southern Shifters
Author: Eliza Gayle
Designation: Book Four of Series, Novella Length(App 150 pages), Standalone, No Cliffhanger (but the epilogue does lead into the fifth book of the series, Be Were)
My Rating: Five Delightfully Entertaining Stars*****
I adore paranormal romance and no one does it better than Eliza Gayle. I've been a diehard Gayle fan for years and truly enjoy her fluid, easy-to-follow style. And Bad Kitty was no exception! I loved it! Bad Kitty is a well-crafted and edited, novella-length, standalone paranormal romance filled to the brim with danger, drama, action, angst, passion, love, and steamy sex, generously seasoned with a giant dash of snark, sass, attitude, and humor. The narrative is beautifully written in the third person with easily-discernible his and her perspectives. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well-executed and flows effortlessly. But my favorite element of this super sexy romp is the cast of intriguing characters. I was immediately smitten with the two protagonists, beautiful twenty-six-year-old cougar shifter Kitty Bran of the Gunn Cougar Clan, and handsome determined alpha wolf shifter Rafe Comyn. I read the first three books of the series several years ago but remember well when Kitty Bran made an appearance in several of the stories. I was intrigued by Kitty's self-serving and somewhat conceited behavior. I'd so hoped Gayle would give Kitty a story of her own and was so excited when she did! I knew it would take one super sexy dominant male to bring Kitty to heel. We all know cats refuse to heel but Rafe was the perfect wolf...um...man for the job and definitely up for the challenge! Oh my! Felines and Canines have been enemies since the dawn of time but Karma can be a real bit*h, especially when it comes to mates and payback, as Kitty soon discovers. When fate throws this unlikely pair together, it's nothing less than explosive, their attraction electric, their passion fiery, their love undeniable, their fate inevitable. And I enjoyed every single word! Did I like this story Nom I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some steamy, dreamy love scenes. Bad Kitty can certainly be read as a standalone but if you want to know a little about Kitty's backstory and her radical vigilante father, I highly recommend reading the first three books of the series. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Were-cougar Kitty Bran was finally getting her just reward. Well, reward may not be quite accurate since her banishment is punishment for her actions or, rather, lack of actions. She'd never been a part of her father's evil machinations. Her only crime had been keeping her mouth shut about her father's misdeeds... that is until he went too far by kidnapping an innocent child as part of his nefarious plan to destroy their Clan Guardians. At that point, Kitty could no longer turn a blind eye and had to help the child escape. Apparently, the clan felt it was too little, too late, and now she'd lost her home, her clan, and her father, although losing him may not have been so bad. Saving the child was probably the only thing that saved her from being executed by her clan but she may as well be dead because, now, she found herself on permanent vacation, exiled to the neutral zone. Could her life get any worse? Why, yes, it could and does when she's attacked by a group of female cougars from her clan determined on giving Kitty a little payback....with poisoned claws... and before she even gets a chance to move into her new home. Kitty has no choice but to run for her life and run she did... right out of the neutral zone and into wolf territory. Oh no! Unfortunately, Kitty is mortally wounded and very near death when she's discovered by a malevolent wolf shifter planning to inflict more harm upon her. But fate has other plans in store for Kitty! A white knight rides to her rescue in the form of.... another snarly, growly alpha wolf? Oh no! Oh yes! But this wolf is hot, hunky and handsome, and wants more than just to save her, he wants to claim her as his mate. Huh? A werewolf and a werecougar? But cats and dogs don't mix, right? We'll see! No spoilers from me but I will say this... One beautiful bad kitty who has been exiled by her clan but is seeking redemption and, for the first time in her life, hell-bent on doing the right thing, even if it means giving up the man she loves-check! A hot handsome alpha werewolf determined to claim his mate regardless of the danger, the consequences, or her species-check! Danger, drama, and enemies who don't play fair-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, steamy sexy, undeniable love, and a heartwarming happy ending-you bet! That and a whole lot more!

A copy of this book was provided to me by the author with no expectations or requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

BAD KITTY is the first book of Eliza Gayle’s new spin off from her Black Cougar series and I have been anticipating this continuation for a while now. Although it isn’t necessary for you to read the first three Black Cougar books, I will caution that you will understand Kitty a bit better if you do.

Kitty has been cast out from her cougar clan and upon her arrival into the neutral zone; she is attacked by a group of vicious she-cats from her not so stellar past. While on the run for her life, Kitty finds herself in one hell of a predicament with a very unlikely ally in the form of a wolf shifter. As Rafe is rescuing the she-cat from his biggest rival’s nefarious clutches, he is shocked to find that his wolf doesn’t seem to want to let this damaged yet beautiful cougar go. To complicate things further, he is also set to be named Alpha of his pack in just a few short days so the timing really couldn’t be worse for him. Tensions have already been high within the pack, but things are even more precarious with their shaky peace agreement with the cougar clan. A mixed mating for their new Alpha could definitely cause major issues, but Rafe and Kitty have undeniable natural chemistry.

Once Kitty is on the mend, you could just feel the heat between them coming off the pages. I really loved Kitty’s feisty attitude and Rafe oozed all that Alpha male yumminess I adore so much in my heroes. I think that BAD KITTY was well paced and action packed, but that it also had a great amount of steam to make it one entertaining short read. I do wish that the ending didn’t feel so cut off, because I would have liked to see where things went after they become mates. On the other hand though, the epilogue did give us something to look forward to. Overall a solid 4 star read, and I do eagerly anticipate reading the next book.

This is the second book I have read by Eliza Gayle and I liked it so much better than the first. The erotica here is well balenced with the plot and the sexy times are in character.

We have a former cat shifter villaness from Gayle's series Black Cougar and an Alpha Wolf on the rise as a hero. Our heroine is changing to be less selfish but she is still kinda mean in a good way. Our hero is cool because he doesn't resist the mate bond with kitty cat.

It is a good story and nice typical shapeshifter would with interspecies hatred. It was quick enjoyable read if you want a little shifter fix.

I am looking forward to the rest of the series. We have Neutral Lands with Hybrids and there is a bear shifter out there. This should add some good pep to the typical shifter storylines. I will be picking up the next book in the series.

I was given this book for my honest review. So there you have it!

Bad Kitty is a good start to a new series. It's action packed, emotional, fun and sexy. A great read for any fans of the genre looking for a quick reading fix :)

Kitty is an outcast, torn and alone. She's had it real rough. Losing her father, her clan and her home. She's now trying to find herself and survive. But fate has other ideas for her. One of them being an accidental meeting with a soon to be alpha, Rafe.

Rafe happens across a group of his pack members surrounding a wounded female cat shifter. Seeing that their intentions are the furthest thing from honorable, he steps in and makes another discovery. The last discovery he's ever thought to make...

Eliza Gayle gave us a quick satisfying read that leaves the reader wanting more. I look forward to seeing where she'll go next in the series. I sure hope there's more of Rafe and Kitty! I'd love to know how they end up! A 3.5 rating rounded to a solid 4.

Shapeshifter erotica. Good story -You are thrown into the action and Kitty's shitstorm of a life right at the beginning. I was a bit confused because I feel like I missed some of the story about what happened before she was outcast.
I ended up liking Kitty and Rafe. This story is a bit more bloodthirsty and violent than what I was expecting which is what made me rate it lower IMO. The other is its a cliffhanger. There is some closure but a lot of unanswered questions. I hate cliffhangers. That said I will likely buy the next because I want to know what happens in the pack now. Fans of shapeshifter romance were the shifters are not "warm and fuzzy" but more toothy and growly would enjoy this one.

No one deserves what Kitty got in this story. Until she meets wolf shifter Rafe. And then everyone should deserve that. The story of up and coming Alpha Rafe and Kitty will melt all pre-conceptions of what shifters should and shouldn't do. This is one story you are going to have a hard time setting down.

I just loved Kitty and Rafe. The horrible tragedy that happens to Kitty and the lengths Rafe goes to show is love is great. The steam sex scenes help a little to. Can't wait to read more from the series. Outstanding job Eliza!!!

Here Kitty Kitty.... Sorry, couldn't resist.

Bad Kitty by Eliza Gayle, it's not a bad read. Kitty is a cougar shifter, which is very awesome in and of itself. The story starts with her arriving in the neutral zone. You get bits and pieces of why, but not really as much information as I would like. It kind of felt like Bad Kitty should either have a prequel novella, or possibly even be book two in the series. It seems Kitty also almost had a relationship with a cougar named Kane that I felt could have been explored more. At this point, it felt like it was added just for the heck of it.

QUOTE
She'd learned a hard lesson that begging a man for his love and affection was what weak women did and she refused to be that woman anymore. When it came to her currently non-existent or future love life, she had no more tricks up her sleeves or any devious plans to get what she wanted.

So like I said, Kitty is banned to the neutral zone (for reasons I will not spoil), between cougar territory and wolf territory. When she gets to her new home, she quickly realizes she is not alone. A quick and action packed series of events forces her to run, and unknowingly run into wolf territory. That bit of action I did find to be very exciting and drama packed. But again, I would have liked to meet these other people before this scene happened, just so it didn't feel so out of the blue.

While in the new territory Kitty meets Rafe. This was played out in an intriguing way, but it also really drew your attention to Rafe. I felt like right off the bat he could be trusted, and I knew Kitty would be safe with him. Initially while Kitty is with Rafe very little happens. You discover exactly what Rafe thinks of Kitty, and then that evolves. The evolution of their relationship is quite quick and very interesting. But hey, they are shifters, and things tend to happen quickly for them.

I found the main characters to both be very pleasing, but my favorite was Kitty. This alone was awesome for me, because I usually love the man more. But in this book I found Kitty to be this bad-ass cougar who is just coming into her own. She's a wildcat in more ways than one, and I loved watching her self-awakening.

QUOTE
For a few long seconds he stared at her as if he saw straight through her. The vulnerability that look created threatened to overwhelm her. She wanted to blink or look away, but found it impossible to break eye contact. For a moment she forgot about the pain, the differences of their species and the fact she needed to get away. She focused only on the foreign sensation of being mesmerized. Her head and body betrayed her with a sharp longing for more of the man sitting in front of her who'd awakened something inside her with a simple touch to her cheek.

There is certainly a lot of drama, especially since wolves and cougars aren't normally friendly. There were a few action scenes, which I love. It really lent itself to the "wild animal" feel. However, there were several aspects which I just felt were out of place (like the previous almost-relationship of Kitty's, for instance). There were also some issues I would have liked to see a better explanation of- like some of the pack dynamics within Rafe's pack.

All in all, I enjoyed Bad Kitty. To be honest, I was expecting something a little different, and some parts of the book were a bit predictable, but it was still an enjoyable story. If you enjoy books like the Preternaturals series by Zoe Winters, or really any shifter romance, I think you will enjoy this book. As for me, I'll check out the rest of the series when it's released, but it probably won't be at the top of my list.

Kitty, or Katherine as she was called in the 2nd book of the series, has been ousted because she was complicit in her father's actions and did nothing to stop him or warn others. Now, she's living in the neutral zone alone. But some feline shifters who hate Kitty for her bitchy behavior come to pay a visit and make her regret. After taking a beating, including multiple deep scratches with poison, she manages to escape into wolf territory, but her trespass gets her into deeper trouble. Fortunately, upcoming alpha, Rafe Comyn, steps in rescues her. He takes her home and nurses her back to health. He tells himself he's only being decent, but his wolf is telling him this cougar shifter is his mate, which presents a whole wealth of problems for the future alpha of a pack who hates cat shifters. As Kitty's health improves she shows a spirit and a feistiness that intrigues Rafe, but also a sadness that comes from atonement. If he wants to keep this woman, he'll have to fight for her.

So, after the first three books in this series, I was ready to walk away from this author. The sex scenes, well-written though they were, interfered with plot and character development and it seemed the characters made decisions for no reason and that made no sense. I just couldn't. But I noticed that there were 2 years between the writing of the 3rd and 4th books...so I took a chance that the author had developed her craft over this time and picked up the 4th book. I'm quite glad I did. So I'm not sure if this review is purely for the book as it is or for the clear improvement in the writing since the 3rd book. Maybe both.

Kitty is a good character. She was pretty much established as a bitch in the first 3 books, so I wondered if she could be redeemable. And she obviously was. Kitty began to realize what she was and even internalized the punishment the other cat shifters gave her, believing that she'd been deserving of it in her guilt. It was even better to see Kitty realizing that it was time for her to start thinking of other people first - which guided her actions in walking away from Rafe, for his own future benefit. Her character therefore did not feel cardboard but dynamic and interesting. I liked reading about her. Rafe is kind of a Mary Sue hero, being the perfect wolf who has a moral compass in a pack of wolves who clearly believe that raping a woman just because she's entered your territory is perfectly okay. Rafe looked damn good in comparison, but I'm a little surprised he turned out the way he did in such an environment. But Rafe and Kitty together work, and his dilemma over whether or not to take her as his mate is a real obstacle. Their falling in love happened pretty fast, but I could actually feel the connection between them, rather than just lust. It felt like more than just mating desire, though they probably could have used more time together to get to know each other. I found myself truly interested in their story and at no point was I skimming through sections.

The author also used sex to the enhancement of the plot, rather than interfering with it. There was a build up of UST as Rafe and Kitty try to deny their attraction, knowing it wasn't right and that they had no future and it was drawn out nicely. Overall, I think this was a quite enjoyable book. I am still a bit confused about the reasons for Kitty's differences and I'm hoping this is addressed in a future book. I'm also a bit confused about the family tree over in the cougar clan - Bran was the black cougars' uncle, so that makes Kitty their first cousin, right? So why was Kitty planning to mate with Kane?

The love scene’s were hot, which is this stories saving grace. The actual story was problematic. Kitty is a character from the Black Cougar series who was sort of a bad guy, but ended up redeeming herself in the end. Which is a nice change to read about. She’s not some sheltered, virgin, goodie two shoes. She’s a total bitch, who is being punished. She is also gladly paying her penance because she knows she did wrong and wants to be a better person. Rafe is a typical alpha shifter character on the cusp of becoming the Alpha of his Pack, who is overjoyed to have found his mate.

I will not be reading anything else in this series, and I highly doubt I’ll be reading anything from this author again.

Eliza Gayle is one of those authors whose name crops up on paranormal searches but for some reason I had never downloaded one of her books until now and I am so glad that finally I did. Although this isn't the longest book she's written , it is a very good shifter romance and seems to follow on from her Black Cougar series.
Kitty is a pure blood cougar shifter who has always felt that she's on the outside looking in. She has been brought up by her bigoted, twisted father and has survived by cutting herself off emotionally . Her father is dead as a consequence of his actions and even though Kitty helped take him down her Cougar clan have neither forgotten or forgiven her past actions. She's forced from her home territory and told she will have to live in the neutral zone but she's ambushed and when hideously wounded she is left for dead.
Rafe Comyn is in line to be the next Alpha of his wolf pack and is determined to help his pack grow stronger. What he's not looking for is the added complications that a female could bring to his life. He's heard of fated mates but has long since resigned himself that it might not be in his own future. When he comes across three of his pack and a half dead female cougar he's unprepared for the strange feelings that she triggers. All he knows for sure is that she urgently needs medical help and it's imperative to get her away from the shifters who would just rape her to death.
Kitty's wounds are contaminated with poison and her inner Cougar is unable to heal them but her beauty still calls out to Rafe. As he nurses her back to health he knows that the wolf who initially found her is demanding that she be turned over to him but Rafes inner wolf can't allow that and neither can the man! Kitty is torn by conflicting emotions and struggles to come to terms with her predicament. Convinced that in some way she deserves her punishment Kitty doesn't believe that this gorgeous strong Wolf could be meant for her. Now all Rafe has to do is fight his pack and tame the delicious woman in front of him. There's definitely trouble ahead!
As previously stated I haven't read previous books in this series but boy do I wish I had. There is obviously a lot of back story to Kitty but it didn't stop me enjoying this book. I don't think it is just the typical mating type of book as the central characters are clearly strongly attracted to each other. Rafe is an uber strong male who wants so much to protect Kitty , even from herself! Kitty deserves to find happiness as her actions helped save a child and she's had very little control over her upbringing and previous life.
This story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and didn't stop. Rafe is just so hot! The sex between them is just so passionate and full of tension. Excellent writing that flowed beautifully and interesting side characters. This reader is definitely going to be reading more from this talented author.

Title: Bad Kitty
Series: Southern Shifters/Black Cougar Trilogy Book# 4
Author: Eliza Gayle
Genre: Romance
Blurb: If you think you've lost everything. Think again. Kitty lost her father, her home and her clan. Clinging to what's left of her pride, she's forced into the neutral zone, the supposed safe haven for half-breeds and outcasts. But as the heat of desire threatens to consume them, their differences escalate and Rafe must keep his own pack from killing the one woman he can't live without.
Thoughts: Eliza Gayle's Southern Shifters series started out as the Black Cougar Trilogy - however it has grown past the three books it originally started as (hence the new name). The series actually started with Lucas, and then followed by Kane and Malcolm. However, Bad Kitty, which is the next to follow can be read as a stand alone novel. I had not read any of the previous books - and had, in fact, never read a book by this author before. But I can tell you that I plan to change that! I'm definitely going back to read the previous books, as well as explore some of the other books offered by this author.
For me, Bad Kitty reminded me a bit of the Shifters series by Rachel Vincent. They each have a similar writing style and tone to the books. If you've read Vincent's books, you will love what Gayle brings to the table. Bad Kitty can definitely stand on its own though, and was a very enjoyable read. It came at just the right time, too! I was in a bit of a reading funk, having read a few back to back that were kind of take-it-or-leave-it - this one got me excited again, and back on track! If you love paranormal books - shifter stories in particular - this is a great one to pick up! Can't wait to go back and read Lucas!

The blurb for this book caught my eye even when the title and the erotica classification made me expect something quite different, and not very interesting. The blurb, though, hints at redemption, recovery, and a complex world. I have not read the others in the series, but this one certainly got me intrigued with the cultures. I didn’t realize it was the fourth in the series so had no preconceptions, but I felt this short novel stood on its own while hinting at more.

Bad Kitty offers a compelling story of a culture at a turning point between purists and change wrapped around an instinct-driven love story. Instinct can sometimes make for an illogical connection, but while both Kitty and Rafe respond to the demands of their bestial sides (both are shifters), it does stop there. They don’t give in to instinct until they get to know each other’s human side as well and find what draws them together.

The sex is explicit as is the violence, so if that’s not your thing, this isn’t for you. There are rough points in the writing as well, but the draw of the story was enough for me to forgive them. My only large issue was that the epilogue is not an epilogue. It’s the first chapter of the next book. While the story in Bad Kitty leaves elements to explore in a complex shifter culture, up to the epilogue, it’s a full and complete story with the main plot resolved and capable of being read as a standalone. The epilogue breaks that by introducing a new plot as a cliffhanger. My problem is that an epilogue is supposed to provide closure on the plot points that weren’t covered by the main climax. This one has little to do with the story in the book and left me with the feeling that I had not reached the end.

Did I enjoy the book? Yes.

The connection and interaction between person and beast in the shifters is interesting, the logic of the society is grounded even without knowing the origin story, and there are thriller moments where the risk is tangible matched with love moments of the same nature where what they risk by giving in is a real barrier to what they both want. If explicit shifter stories with complex societies fall into your zone, this one is worth the try.

Kitty is exiled to the neutral zone and branded an outcast. As she tries to settle into her new life, a band of female cougar shifters attack for revenge and retribution for the shame caused to their pack. Kitty narrowly escapes from the attack after being chased deep into wolf territory. Having collapsed near-death and found by three wolves ready to do unthinkable things to her body, she is rescued by Rafe.

After being nursed back to health, or close to it, Kitty finds she cannot deny the attraction to Rafe. Her cougar senses her mate and she wants to claim him, now. Rafe is next in line as alpha to lead his wolf pack and Kitty is denying their mating because she thinks he can do better than a damaged outcast. Mixing wolf and cougar bloodlines would be dangerous and unaccepted from many in both clans and Kitty doesn’t want to admit it, but she cares too much to see Rafe risk his future…for her. Does Rafe and Kitty have a chance of being together, or will their love and their lives be forfeited to uphold out-dated pack laws?

I really enjoyed this quick read. I loved the premise of the story and the forbidden love aspect. Kitty and Rafe are smokin’ hot together. When Kitty’s attack left her with hideous scars, Rafe still accepted and wanted her as his mate. Loved that! I loved the secondary characters and I’m looking forward to reading about them in upcoming books. A good, solid paranormal romance!

4 out of 5 Licks

I broke a rule of mine...I read this book without reading the first books in the series. I know right above this is a line that says you don't have to read the other books yada yada lol It's my rule leave me alone. Anyway so this is my first Eliza Gayle book-I know I'm sorry! Stop throwing books at me! Wait keep throwing them I don't have some of these!-and I wasn't disappointed. How could I not love a heroine names Kitty? lol Since I haven't read the other books in this series, I don't have the entire story about the horrible things Kitty has done but it's hard to imagine anyone deserving the beat down she was given. The scars she's left behind took the last of what Kitty thought she had. Rafe doesn't give a damn about the scars. He just wants Kitty any way he can have her. They have some serious sexual tension and moments where I thought one of them was going to be seriously injured by the other. It was freaking hot! I can't wait to see what Eliza brings to the table next and I gotta go get caught up on the rest of her books!

This is a well written and fun erotic paranormal romance. There’s plenty of action and it starts on the first page. I read it in through without stopping. I admit there were times I wished it had resolved the relationship with Kitty and Rafe, but I liked how they ended up.

Kitty has been through a lot and even more happens to her as the story unfolds. She doesn’t even get to see the inside of her new house when someone tries to kill her. As a result of running from that attack she is thrust into Rafes life. Good thing for her he came along when he did.
Rafe is a hot alpha who knows what he wants and goes after it. He is kind and caring toward Kitty, which is a new experience for her. Rafe systematically faces every challenge that tries to come between them.

On top of all the action and drama there’s the sex; it’s hot, passionate, and at times very intense. There is an open ending, not sure if the story will continue with Rafe and Kitty or if it’s a setup for new characters. Either way I can’t wait to read the next one and was happy with the ending to Bad Kitty.

GOOD PNR

Bad Kitty has been ostracised from her pack, but some of them feel that her punishment is not enough and attack her, she ends up somewhere she should not be and is rescued by Rafe Comyn. He's the next alpha of his pack, so getting stuck with a injured Kitty is something he could do without. But her scent is calling to him. Their future though is far from certain, they have much to overcome if they hope to be together.

This is a very well written short story, packed with detail. I liked the characters and the sex was hot. There was insta love but as this is a PNR involving shifters that was okay IMO. There was something I didn't like and that's the rules of the wolf world, but this was a good intro to this author for me I will be reading more of her work.

Given to me by Netgalley.com in exchange for a honest review.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A SPIN OFF SERIES AND IT MIGHT BE BETTER TO READ THE COUGAR SERIES FIRST BY THE SAME AUTHOR AS FOR ME BACKGROUND INFORMATION WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD.

Kitty yes the feline shifter is called Kitty. Ironic but true. Kitty has been kicked out of her clan because of the actions of her father although she was also treated as a piece of shit by her father. She is outcasted to the neutral zone which brings a whole new sort of trouble. Nearly beaten to death within an inch of her life and poisoned, she manages to escape and ends up in wolf territory and saved by Rafe the next Alpha. This is a cute story, not a lot of depth or plot to it but still a fun read.

I know I liked it, I just can't remember if I loved it. I wasn't in a good place as far as reviewing went, and honestly some stories just don't seem to stick with me after I finish reading >.<

I do remember, Kitty was one strong alpha female, and I love that. Pair her up with an Alpha wolf and you've got some sexy times headed your way. *Fair warning ;)

I would have liked to have read the previous books in this world, only because there was SO much hostility towards Kitty from her own pack. And I would like to know just how terrible she really was just to see if she actually deserved redemption.

Wow. I am shocked at how many people loved this book. Which makes me wonder if my copy was missing sections (story flow didn't seem that way). I bought this not realizing it was book 4 in a series, yet I didn't feel there was much I was missing (maybe the parts about Kitty's father and her relationship with Kane). The premise had promise, yet failed to deliver. I can't even put into words how disappointed I was once I finished this. Unless I am told the other books are mind-blowing good, I will not pick up another book in this series.

This was a fast-paced read and kept me interested all the while. I kept wanting to see what would happen next. It pretty much grabs you from the get-go. Interesting characters and personalities, creativity, imagination, spunk, courage, strength, action, bantering, some steaminess, and a good HEA. I would definitely like to read more in this series, and perhaps in order now. ;) This was a strong book and was written well. The pages flowed well, kept a good pace between the fast and slower scenes. Enjoy!

Why in these shifter books are cougars afraid of wolves? It makes no sense, in the wild a female cougar toys with a male wolf...

Instant falling in love, no particular tension, no real opposition, dunno, but it could have been a lot better.

Great story. A cougar shifter is attacked and ends up on wolf pack land. She is saved by a wolf, but there are all sorts of controversies. It is a really interesting world. I like the characters, but I was occasionally irritated by the cougar lady. It all works out very romantically.

I have read a book by this author before, and to be honest, i had forgotten who good her stories were and how drawn into the world she has created it drew me in.

I really enjoyed this book and will certainly be looking at reading the rest of the series in due time.

Kitty was a good character and i got the jist of what has happened in previous books, so this can be read as a stand alone. Kitty is a survivor and with Rafe at her side, finally has someone who believes in her and is not turning her away even if he is not the same bread of shifter that she is. Can a Cougar and a wolf come together? They can here.

Rafe is a hot as hell Alpha male and he proves patience with Kitty and dominance with those around him when required. I certainly would be behind a man like him.

Look forward to more from this author.

A great addition to this terrific series!

If you haven't read the first books in the series, I highly suggest that you do before reading this one. It will certainly give you the background needed to understand the life that Kitty had before this chapter began. This was a highly emotional story that will have readers on both sides of the fence regarding Kitty, but I guarantee that by the end, you'll see that Rafe and Kitty are a perfect match.

Wasn't thrilled with the cliffhanger, but fortunately the next book is already available. Can't wait to read it!

I would definitely recommend this book, series, and author.
