The beautiful cover and solid title attracted me to this book. After all, it claimed to be comprehensive. The positives: the author was engaging and obviously knows a lot about plants. The artwork is beautiful and professional. I learned quite a bit and had no trouble sticking in until the end of the book. I was inspired to grow more plants (yes, family, it is possible) and care well for the plants I currently own. The negatives: There were many spelling, typographical, and other obvious errors. Sometimes the suggestions seemed outlandish considering the average home's window space. That said, with a better editor this book would be a wonderful resource.

Great Beginners Plant Guide

Christo Sillivan seems like the kind of person I'd love to meet. He calls plants his friends. Plants brighten ip your home and help with air qualify. So we should nuture and care for them as there is a relationship. I don't have a green thumb- so I was glad to see a list of what the best house plants are. This book warmed my heart and they way I now look at plants. This is a guide with all steps you need to have and grow your plants.

Plants are great

You can feel Mr Sullivan's love of plants throughout the book, but a good editor would have done this guide loads of good. Likewise, I would have liked to see some more mention of specific houseplants and how they can be cared for.

As a general guide, not bad.
