3.5 stars !Um bom livro ,sem nada surpreendente,mas o casal tem uma boa química e curti bastante o Wolf(Tarô),gosto quando tem asiáticos como um dos protagonistas .O Ruin é um personagem divertido e gostei da descoberta dele como Bissexual 😅 Ah,e essa capa é bem sexy e representou muito bem a química do casal Ruin e Wolf

This book made me swoon so hard I'm surprised I could stand straight. I loved the way Wolf aka Taro teased Josh in the beginning and it had me smiling almost the entire time reading. They had a brilliant connection that was written really well so it was evident on every page. It was also fun to see how Josh handled his newly discovered connection to a man like Taro. I was gripping my Kindle just dying to see them get together and the wait was definitely worth it. I have a lot of favorite characters from Lila Rose but I have to say Josh and Taro are definitely in the top ten now.

I still LOVE the cover art💜 I also really enjoyed it the second time around. Today I would probably rate it 3.5 or 4 stars, but I believe in keeping my original rating since I'm a moody reader and I was definitely captured by their romance.

First, let's take a moment to enjoy this cover...Whew!! The cover alone deserves ALL the stars! The great thing is...the heroes really do favor the cover art, so it was easy to visualize these two heroes together. *fans self*
If you are craving a lot of angst and miscommunication in your romantic read, this book isn't for you. Josh has always identified as straight, but once he meets Taro he is immediately attracted and drawn to him. What I liked about this was, the ease that Josh has about his sexuality and his attraction for Taro. There isn't a lot of self-doubt or angsty moments of...oh my god, I'm attracted to a man, torment going on in his head. Instead, Josh follows his heart and instincts and ends up finding the love of his life. Is this realistic? Probably not, but I don't care. I liked these men and loved them together and their easy camaraderie and love and affection they shared, was the romantic story I was in the mood for right now.
I really enjoyed it and hope she writes Ryo's story.

The author does a great job at keeping her books stand-alone stories so I never feel lost when I read them.

I was really excited to start this book bcs of all it's amazing reviews but honestly I was disappointed. I thought this was supposed to be set in Australia but there was no one damn reference that made it feel that way.
And am I the only one who was creeped out by all the unnecessary possessiveness. Like Jesus Christ. There was one scene in which a woman comes up to ask Ruin for a dance and he tells her to dance with one of the women and then the girl says when she dances with them the men drag the women away cuz of other guys watching. Am I really the only one who found this toxic as hell?
Oh, it doesn't end there. What was up with ruin not wanting to anybody to see wolf with his shirt off? I cringed so hard. Also, I didn't know that you claim someone as yours. Is that what bike riders do? Claim their partners? Why the fuck didn't I just read a warewolf book? Do real ppl even talk like that?
This book was so supportive of women and then you go and do shit like possessiveness. I couldn't help but grimace each time I went through that. Wolf's character was supposed to be cold and crazy right? Then why the fuck did he turn into a Teddy bear out of nowhere? What kind of mobster does that? I didn't know I was reading Cinderalla.
The book wasn't anything special. It creeped me out most of the time. Made me want to punch a few characters and tell them to get their shit together and treat ppl like humans instead of possessions. And what was up with all of Ruins family or gang knowing that he had something going with wolf before it even became anything. I can understand his best friend or mom knowing [mom's tend to know everything. It's annoying] but everyone? It was irritating as fuck. Does not happen like that.
Talk about frustrating. Wasted 2 days on this shit. I shd have just DNF'd. I need to have some chocolate or something to take away the bitter taste of disappointment.

This is sweet, a bit too sweet IMO. Lol. Is all sugar and no angst. Ruin is a hopeless romantic at heart. At the beginning of the book, he was protecting and accompanying Mimi to go back to her home at Melbourne because he turned her down after their one night stand. He feels bad that she isn't the one. Ruin is all about looking for "the one".
Wolf is Mimi's older brother, who is the head of the Takahashi family. Wolf is gay and he likes to tease and flirt with Ruin, which make Ruin very confused and exasperated because he had only been with women. But once Ruin decided to give in to the attractive and kiss Wolf, everything just fell into place. They are both all in and relationship move very fast to "you're mine forever......". Ruin (Hawks MC (next generation) Book 2
Ruin (aka Josh) is a member of Hawks Motorcycle Club in Ballarat, Australia. He has a close knit blood family plus all the members of the Hawks, all of them has Josh’s back. The Hawks have several businesses all of them legitimate. Ruin has a huge reputation as a man whore, always hopping from one females bed to another. He wants what his mother and stepfather have, a strong loving relationship. He hasn’t found ‘the one’ yet.
The Hawks have taken in Mimi Takahashi who has fled her home because her father wants to marry her off to a much older man, purely to form a business alliance. Mimi’s family have a huge business empire, mostly illegal as it’s mainly drugs and gun trafficking. Her father is now on his deathbed and her brother Wolf has come to take her home for farewells and funeral.
Wolf (aka Taro) was unprepared for the reception at the Hawkes compound and their reluctance to send Mimi back to a forced marriage. But he eventually agrees when Ruin is assigned the role of Mimi’s Caretaker in the event she doesn’t want to stay with her family in Melbourne.
However, the day after they arrived back in Melbourne, Ruin is taken aback when Wolf blatantly starts hitting on him. Ruin doesn’t delay in letting him know he’s barking up the wrong tree.
Basically this story is about the rivalry between gangs, both legal and illegal. Wolf is trying to get the family business away from anything illegal and change their old attitudes to the women in their families.
When all out war starts from within Ruin has to decide where he needs to be.
It was the cover that pushed me to get this one onto my shelves and I enjoyed the reading of it too. A nice change from Sport RomCom and Office RomComs. I liked Ruin (Josh) character, no messing with him once he knew what he wanted, and made sure everyone knew what was his. Possessive, Yeah.

I’ve had issues with this author before so it doesn’t surprise me that, after forcing myself to finish the sample, I’m not going to go ahead and buy this one.
The writing is just so heavy handed it felt more like an info-dump than an organic story unfolding. Add the clumsy dialogue and Ruin’s repetitive thoughts and I was done.

I love when an author does a second-generation spinoff well, and Lila's done that in spades. Ruin is a great addition to a (thankfully) still expanding series of respect, loyalty, and brotherhood. She's stepped forward into one of her strengths featuring a m/m relationship, and with witty dialogue, a strong happily-ever-after storyarc, and an overall enjoyable tale, this is a book I recommend.

Oh I so love me a 'straight' man falling for the right man. Lila does it so perfectly I can't even.
Ruin is known to be a ladies man. He likes to share himself around and he has no shame in the fact he thinks he's a catch. He's just the right mix of sweet and salty with a smidge of arrogance that works for him. But ... When he suddenly finds his cock only working for a particular person, one of the cock variety. It's fair to say he's more than a little conflicted with himself. Oh bless his soul the turmoil he felt trying to process the unexpected emotions really did hit me hard. His unpredictable and at time hilarious actions really had me falling hard in love with his character and his personal growth through their journey.
Wolf is just on another level. He oozes confidence and wears sin like a second skin. He carries that air of superiority which in his case given his role as the head of the family, really is no surprise. I didn't expect his wicked teasing side but man it had me hooked. Those sinful smirks and cheeky lines had me SWOONING. I loved that despite his power and position he really did care about his family and Ruin. He wanted to make positive changes but he could also be cut throat when necessary. He's lethal on all fronts in the best and worst ways.
I loved their journey. The conflict, the confusion.. the temptation. Man it was like this delicious slow burning tension filled journey that continued the burn brighter with every interaction between Wolf and Ruin. They had an instant connection despite the situation and it blossomed into the sweetest passion filled journey. They worked in a way that created balance. Opposites and yet they fit. The hilarious banter and bickering. The overzealous jealous shenanigans... The crazy hot happenings. The sweet vulnerability between them. They just made sense even though they shouldn't of.
I loved their journey. The pace is perfection and the characters are the best. So many personalities, so much going on and nothing ever felt rushed or like it shouldn't be there. Lila never fails in her writing. She gave us action, suspense, surprises and so many emotions I can't even. I feel like their story was told beautifully and honestly if I could go back and read it again like it was the first time ever, I totally would.

Oh man why did I read this book so quickly, lol
I have to just say that Ruin is the son (adopted) of Stoke and he was one of my favorite Hawks Men. And this story was AMAZING!!! ♥ Always makes me want to go back and start this Hawks ride from the start 😊
Joshua ‘Ruin’ was a total ladies man. And as much as the women loved him, he loved women. His Life was going great for him, until his president sent him to accompany a club girl Mimi to visit with her father on his death bed and Well… then he he met Wolf… Ruin couldn’t believe that he was attracted to a man, let alone a man who was the brother of a women he slept with. But growing up in a club where everyone was tolerate of each other and the people they loved he knew that his club and his family would support him. So why was he holding back.
Wolf was the head of his family now that his father was dying. And things seemed like they were going to get explosive, seeing as Wolf is changing a whole lot of his families traditions. And now that he found his sister he can get on with changing his family into something better than what his father made. So when the Hawks president advised that Ruin will be accompanying Mimi he had no issue with that as the man was freaking HOT. But not everyone is happy with Ruin and Wolf’s relationship. And also Ruin has to make the decision if this is what he really wants… A relationship with a man…
I loved this story. This reminded me so much of Beast and Knife’s story. It was funny and sweet and had just the right amount of suspense in there to keep you guessing on what will happen next. These characters were amazing, both of them were so sweet and was totally into each other. I loved that Ruin didn't mess around with Wolf he made the decision to be with him and he stuck to it and make Wolf know that he wanted him and he had his whole family behind him #Sigh...Love it... I love reading a Hawks story.It always leaves me wanting more and loving just how amazing and wonderful this family always is. Lila Rose I hope this Hawks universe never ends 😊 ♥ And I need the next story like ASAP!!! 😊

Disappointing.

This is the second of the second gen series; Ruin is Stoke and Malinda's kid. In the last story we got introduced to the situation with Mimi and her brother Wolf coming into the picture. Ruin was sent along to make sure he had Mimi's back in whatever was going on. Well, now I know what was going on and it was a lot! Ruin is walking into a family mafia type situation, and now the head of the family is dying and Wolf is taking over. Ruin had no clue when he went, that he wouldn't just have Mimi's back, but Wolf's as well. Wolf's family has a huge issue with the fact that he is gay and feels that he shouldn't be the one to take over, and there is a threat of a take-over on the horizon. Ruin can't stand Wolf but at the same time is drawn to him and doesn't really understand why. It takes a few of the brothers from the Carolina Springs chapter to help him figure out that maybe just maybe Ruin should look at the situation from a different angle. What happens when Ruin decides that he is going to take a chance and try something different? Will Wolf push him away and put the family first?
This was such a good read; I loved that we got to "see" a few of the characters from the other chapter, so much that I have to go and reread Knife and Beast's story now. Giving us some really good drama, a laugh or two, some danger and some hot naughty bits, this was a really good story. I give this 5 stars.

It takes a few of the brothers from the Carolina Springs chapter to help him figure out that maybe just maybe Ruin should look at the situation from a different angle. What happens when Ruin decides that he is going to take a chance and try something different? Will Wolf push him away and put the family first?
This was such a good read; I loved that we got to "see" a few of the characters from the other chapter, so much that I have to go and reread Knife and Beast's story now. Giving us some really good drama, a laugh or two, some danger and some hot naughty bits, this was a really good story. I give this 5 stars.

I liked it (interesting)
Ruin is all about the ladies so when he meets Taro, he is thrown by the feelings that come up..how can he be attracted to dudes, when he’s always been into women? When they are thrown together, coming to terms with his new found attraction is out of his hands. Taro is the new head of his Japanese crime family. When he comes looking for his sister at the Hawks compound, he’s not looking for the attraction he has with one of the brothers. Since they are thrown together for a little while, why not explore this new thrill and see where it leads.
I am not sure how I feel about this story. At the beginning Taro appears to be your typical Alpha male..take charge and decisive..ruthless even, but as the story unfolds, he seems less like that and more subdued. In one instance, he is decisive and swift, and then next he’s insecure and questioning himself. It was hard to determine who he was, or maybe he is both.
Ruin is the same. He was indecisive and reserved..although we understood why since finding himself attracted to men was new to him, but as he came into his own, his alpha tendencies were on full display. Once he made peace with his connection and the support of family and friends, he was 100% on board with loving Taro.
I enjoyed the story and the inclusion of Link and Ryo at the end..maybe he’ll be included in other stories.

Unexpected
Lila Rise is one of the only authors I like M/M romance from and this book does not disappoint. Love Ruin aka Josh and Wolf aka Taro's story, it is funny, sweet and all around entertaining.

The HAWKS MC are back and the next generation are kicking it into high gear with Ruin's story. This was an excellent read. I loved, I laughed and I swooned. I swear Ruin and Wolf are the next gen version of Beast and Knife - can you say "uh yes please"
Joshua "Ruin" May we first met as a teen in Stoke and Malinda's book. All grown up he has followed his father's footsteps into the MC world. Typical youngster always looking for the next chick to warm his bed but maybe there is more to life than a revolving bedroom door. He wants more though would never admit it his brothers. He is Cocky enough to know he is gorgeous and attractsall kinds of attention. However it is the attention of a certain handsome Japanese Mafia boss that he cannot seem to shake.
Wolf is powerful. In the midst of a power struggle in his family due to the situation wihh his father. He has to bring his sister Mimi home. When he encounters the MC is attention immediately lands on Ruin and so begins the tease fest. Wolf is very attractive but has to keep his private life somewhat hidden given his position, however when Ruin lands in his home as his sisters club protection he cannot help but to get under his skin.
Wolf wants Ruin, but like with Knife, Ruin has always been all about the women so his sudden attraction to the smoldering Mafia boss is a bit disconcerting. He needs to think, he needs time but sometimes it is your soul deep connection that leads you on your journey and it is only looking for its other half and Ruin seems to find his in Wolf.
Ruin's internal struggle to come to terms with his attraction leads to some funny situations as well as a few hurtful words. Can Ruin pull his head out of his butt long enough to see what he might lose?
Ruin and Wolf will totally set your pages on fire with their hot and heavy love story because at the end of it all through all the trials, the danger and the drama that is what Lila excels at brings her readers the love connection we are all searching FOR. Ruin goes with clubgirl Mimi back to her home. Her father is on his death bed and when it's obvious that she doesn't want to return, he makes the trip with her to help keep her safe. What he doesn't expect is to start having feelings for her brother, Wolf. He's only been with woman, only found woman attractive. Wolf brings up emotions, thoughts, and desires that should be forbidden and are making Ruin question everything.
Wolf didn't want anyone other than his sister coming home with him until he saw Ruin. From that moment, he wanted to find ways to be in his presence. However, not doing anything about his attraction, and lust for Ruin, was proving difficult. He wanted someone he knew he couldn't have, until the tables turned and he could so very clearly see, the want in Ruin's eyes.
With the help and support of his brothers, Ruin decides to take the chance and see if what he is feeling is real. It was that moment that the world changed for Ruin & Wolf. Learning that you may have thought your path was going in one direction but life always surprises you, and puts you on another.
Watching Ruin discover a new side of him was beautiful. He questioned, he freaked out, he dove in head & heart first, and he allowed himself to be open to the fact that the other half to his soul was a man and not a woman - like he always had thought it would be. All while Wolf got to see that someone could love him for him, not what his status or name gave him. That someone would fight for him and stand by him, not caring what anyone else thought.
These two never expected to fall for one another and that's what made their story so amazing. Their growth is spectacular and their love is felt long before they even say the words to one another. I absolutely loved it.

Ruin can't wait to find his person, he just never expected that person to be a man. Especially not Wolf who he barely knows and gets on his nerves. But he finds out real quick that Wolf is it for him.
We start off with Wolf and Ruin kind of having this enemies to lovers kind of thing but it goes from 0-100 reaaal fast. I liked both MC's. Wolf is head of the family, daring, flirty and unapologetic. Ruin is more reserved compared to Wolf but definitely responds to Wolf, is drawn to him. Some things to mention though: in the beginning, the author describes Wolf as something like being of Asian background, like just say he's Asian?? Even if mixed. It just felt weirdly worded. Also cultural stereotypes were definitely a centre of the story, I felt like that anyway. There's misogyny and the whole alphahole was eye roll inducing. I like jealousy to a point, where it crosses the alphahole/controlling line I'm out, here it became ridiculous. It got OTT real quick. And because of that it feels like the pace of the book is quite fast the author tried to cram their sex scenes into the last 10%. I liked the low angst, fun pace of the story, really liked Ruin's family. This series is connected to other series' from the author so there's introductions of characters who I'm sure have their own books, I haven't read them but something to keep in mind if that's something that would bother you.
Ryo & Link definitely intrigue me but not sure if they're actually getting a book, but if they do, I'll definitely be reading it.

I enjoyed this one, but I still had the same problems as the other MM books I've read by this author. The story is really good, I just don't like how certain things are portrayed.
I really don't like the vulgar language used, and it paints women in a horrible light. The women are either assaulted, mistreated, or used a a sex object, and they are portrayed as sleeping with any biker that has a pulse. It keeps reminding me why I don't read MF anymore.
There are an awful lot of stereotypes, mainly about Wolf and his Japanese family. Why can't people do their research? Maybe read a yaoi manga about how the Yakuza are structured and work. It should have had someone check the Japanese used and not stick to stereotypes of Japanese people.
There is some homophobia in this, and the way that Ruin talks is a bit homophobic in my eyes. He keeps saying that he's not a homophobe, but only homophones say that. It took me a lot to believe his bisexual awakening, especially with how he is. It reminded me of Hear Me Out, and just the setting was changed. I did love seeing the men from that book again, though.
I did like the story, and I liked Wolf so much. This story just reminded me why I don't read MM books by primarily MF authors. Some are amazing, so good ones are out there. I know MM books are really popular and that's why MF writes do them, but please read a lot of good MM books first and don't just write an MF books and change one person to a guy!

To be fair, I am in the minority here - I am not exactly fond of mafia romance and MC romance seems to fall a bit too closely to it. I also very rarely read straight stuff and this series is mostly straight. The gay parts feel okay to me, some authors put it that one queer novel/la and it shows just how symbolic and useless it is. I think it could have been better if it wasn't... look, I want to say it's all liberal and obviously this a MC with gay couples so that's a proof right there, no? But the culture of the world/MC still seems way too sexist to my no-longer-used-to-straight mind. Some thoughts, some practices just really left a bad taste in my mouth: the crude language regarding women (he didn't have the same gross remarks about his man lover), the terms like old women or claiming women (like cattle or something, it feels insulting even if claiming between men sounds quite ok 😅), how women were excluded and I'd swear they should have named something a cigar room considering the division of sexes, even if I don¨t count how they were kept from "business", the things I found out about other relationships, of supreme male repression and that traditional dynamic... that's not even considering Wolf's family who had those toxic family members...
The romance itself was nice, actually. But the stuff around it was occasionally hard to swallow and I just can't see myself looking for more of this.

I loved Ruin aka Josh since he was a teen. Now as an adult he is a ladies man and makes no apologies about it. I mean come on, he grew up with the Hawks as role models, how could he not have an arrogant sweetness that the ladies love?
However he suddenly finds that his famous nether regions only begin working when Wolf is around he is in a bit of a tail spin. He really grew in this book and I will say that this reminded me why I love not only the series but Lila Rose as an author. She writes the suddenly realizing your in love with someone who never dreamed of so well.
Wolf was an awesome character. as the head of his family he carries his authority like a cloak around him. He is very serious but there is a softer side that was very surprising. The journey he and Ruin take not only brings them closer but lets us understand them both better.
I can't wait for the next book in this series and see where this amazing journey takes us. What I do know is that I will be there for the ride all the way.

Ruin is the sweet and sexy new book by Lila Rose. It is book two in the Hawks MC: Next Generation series and boy is it a hot one. The book tells the story of Ruin and Wolf. Ruin is part of the MC and son to Stokes (you would have met his as a youngster in a different series). Ruin is outspoken, cocky and a little confused about his attraction to Wolf. Wolf aka Taro is the new head of the Japanese Mafia. Whilst looking after his sister and coming to terms with his dying father, he comes across Ruin who is everything he could want in a man.
This was a beautiful story to read with two people finding love at a complicated time and both questioning their feelings. Both men were strong, alpha and stubborn, but definitely complimented each other. I enjoyed them trying to figure out the boundaries of their relationship as well as the snark and sass of other characters (both new and old). Wolf and Ruin just work well together, even though they come from very different worlds.
Lila Rose is certainly turning into a one-click author for me, and I can’t wait to get the next instalment in this series!

Pure fire and perfection - I couldn’t put it down

I haven’t been able to read for over a month so it’s been an absolute joy to dive into this beautiful, action-packed story. Ruin is a thrilling, dramatic, sexy, emotional and humorous page turner.
Ruin, aka Josh, is strong, funny, surprisingly sweet and a dependable friend. I fell for him straight away. I loved his possessiveness, it was so endearing and also hilarious.
Wolf (Taro) is confident, powerful, smart, and most of all: a good person. His lethal protectiveness and wicked teasing made him all the more irresistible.
Both characters surprised me in the best of ways and they are seriously hot together. But can they overcome all the obstacles in their way - including Josh’s confusion?
I hope we get a story for Link and Ryo!!!!

I always feel like I’m encased in a nice warm blanket with a hot cuppa tea being taken to my happy place when reading a Lila Rose novel. This new book Ruin- Hawks MC next generation #2 definitely took me to my happy place.
I love all her books but absolutely adore her MM stories .
Joshua & Wolf…. Oh Man !!! These two gave me the warm and fuzzies , they complemented each other perfectly, I had total Beast & Knife vibes . Hear me Out is one of my most fav stories and I felt like I got another amazing story with Ruin. The way Joshua aka Ruin fought his attraction to wolf and then once he realizes he can’t fight those strong feelings any longer … his attraction and undeniable chemistry was unavoidable. This beautiful man goes all in and a love like no other is born .
This story has it all , danger, excitement, love, chemistry, family, loyalty, betrayal, and much more. All the things I have come to expect in a Lila Rose book and she did not disappoint.
Cannot wait to see where she goes in the next installment with this series . I will definitely be here waiting patiently with anticipation and excitement.
