This is the part two of 'Maya's New Husband' series. As I read the first part I am eagerly waiting to read it too. . Almost a year passed to the death of Bhaskar Sadhachari . Maya is now the mother of a child & the child meant the world for her. But she still feels the touch of Bhaskar at night time. . Now time passed & she is surrounded by no of men. This time there is a policeman who shares everything about his life with her & trusting him the most. There is a watchman who is newly appointed in the apartment & always has an eye on Maya. He also helped her in past too to find the child. The third one is an Aghori who became a politician. He met with maya in a political rally & informed many a things to her about Bhaskar. . There is many murder activities took place in the city whose mystery is yet to solve. . At this note the story took a turn when Maya's son got missing & the story took a great turn. . To know more grab the book & give it a try.
🙂 The cover of the book is good apt & catches your attraction. The title is just the succession of previous one. 🙂 The plotline is suspensive thrilling just like book 1 it's taking the reading experience to a new level. 🙂 Writing style of the book is scrutinized & upto the expectation like always. It's descriptive but simple reading. It's horrifically thrilling in some instances but enjoying to read. 🙂The language used in the book is also nice well complementing to the storyline. 🙂 Narration is another USB of the book which keep you engage in this book till the end. 🙂Nicely paced storyline.
This book from Neil D'Silva is, in my view, his best so far. And, I would say, probably the best English novel in the Indian horror genre.
Without giving much away, Maya was pregnant when she killed her husband Bhaskar. She now has a child (watch out for the classic abortion guilt trip). Some one needs the child. Maya is as usual good, noble, naive, courageous and intermittently horny (the scenes are not as descriptive and raw as Maya 1). Two men lust for her, and another seems to want to protect her. One of the men is a crazy cult leader who has a deep connection with Bhaskar. And, is Bhaskar really gone from the planet (don't want to spoil it for you)? Lots of twists and turns, and edge of the seat moments - usual D'Silva style.
Yet, this book is markedly different from his previous works. While his previous works, I feel, have been about a fantastic story and inspired story telling with lucid language, this is all of that and more.
To get the simpler things out of the way, the language is beautiful but more advanced than, say Maya 1. So, if you are a beginner or an intermediate reader, this will be a learning experience. The story telling is a little Erich Segal"ish" - there are disparate plots running about to get connected in the end and there are references to characters from other books of D'Silva like Yakshini, Pishacha etc.
But what really distinguished this book from his other words are a) use of similies, metaphors etc which were less generously used in his earlier works, b) philosophical undertones, and c) very seriously loaded with social commentary (this may not be immediately visible and interwoven with the plot, but if you look for them, you will find it). I see this almost as a progression from a story teller to a story telling influencer. Why not? And if he can do that in an outlandish genre, power to him, right?
I would say, if you want to read a horror book , this should be your first pick by a distance. Too bad, you should read Maya 1 before you embark on this to get the most out of it. But I think one can still get the plot without reading Maya 1.
You won't find a better writer of Indian horror than Neil D'Silva and this book proves that once again.
I loved reading it and when I came to know about the release of part 2. I was waiting and was very eager to know ow this part of the story will be and how it ends.
Maya gave birth to the kid of the monster Bhaskar Sadhachari. She loves her kid more than anything. It is almost a year after his death but he haunts her still. Her mom says to do the final rituals that are done to a dead person so his soul will find peace but Maya doesn't care she was still interrogated about the case by Dev. Finally, It had ended.
Now there are new murders in the city. Maya and Dev met coincidentally on many occasions like when she went for her morning run and in the mall when they were buying wedding dresses for her sister. Finally, they became good friends and whenever they meet the topic was on the murders happening in the city.
On another side, there is a young watchman appointed for their apartments. He helped Maya when the kid fell from a swing and the day the kid was missing in the whole area. He found the kid from the terrace was unbelievable and the baby's grown nail and some hair was missing but Maya doesn't take it seriously.
On the other, there is a gang of murders and a head for who day life and nightlife are different. On Night they want to take away the sinners in the city who ruin the culture they follow and their Guru was the brother of Bhaskar who wishes to marry Maya as is the custom in his village.
In the meantime I forgot to say about Triloknath the Aghori turned Politician, the one gave hint and made her aware of Bhaskar's activities. He is giving her another piece of advice when he met her during a political rally.
There is some black magic going on to take control of the kid. The Kid and Maya had been kidnapped on the day of her sister's marriage. To know the upcoming events and the climax read the story guys. You will enjoy it.
These is the second book in these three books series .as it's my favorite genere no wonder I liked it . Story has a grip in starting ... But starts to fade and peaks pace in ending .. It is almost a year after his death but he haunts her still. Her mom says to do the final rituals that are done to a dead person so his soul will find peace but Maya doesn't care she was still interrogated about the case by Dev. Finally, It had ended.New horrors awaits for Maya in this story and her nightmares didn't end as she thought it would be. Abhay her new - born son is also the target of the evil along with her. She is surrounded by men who has different motives which is scary . On other side of the city, there is group of people who spreads terror in the city. They behead popular personalities and left their heads on public places. Everyone is horrified by these as they have no idea what's going on... What further awaits for Maya and her new born ?

The book is complete gore, and disgusting, but hooks you up.
The cover of the book is apt when you finish reading the book. The cover depicts a baby and Ghost hands. So Kudos for it.
The book is the second part of the trilogy of Maya's new husband. I have read this book in 2015 and I was thinking if I would remember, but when you read this one I remembered bits and pieces of the story and it was the same as this one Gore and disgusting.
This book had hooked me in places and it felt like watching a movie like, why this has happened she should have done this and that. I definitely want this to be made into a movie. Also I loved the ending with no more Husband.
#375 “You haven’t mothered anyone yet,” Anuradha continued. “Hence you speak so freely about…committing this sin. If you had ever held a new-born, heard their helpless cries and happy titters, and felt their minute fingers curling around yours, you would not think this way. So what if he is that monster’s son? The monster is dead. Now it is only you. You bring the child up your way.” Maya looked down again at those maroon tiles and her mind went in a whirl. It was too early to feel the child, but she did feel some warmth rising in her as she heard those words from her mother. For the first time, she thought of the life inside her—she thought of that child as an individual, with a life of its own, and not merely as an offspring of her husband. And suddenly, she saw the light. She cursed herself for being so selfish. She was to be a mother, but where was her maternal instinct?
BOOK: Maya's New Husband 2 SERIES: Book 2 of Maya's New Husband HALLOWEEN READING : 3 AUTHOR : @neilvalentinedsilva GENRE: #horror #thriller RATING : 4.5
Maya's New Husband , Book 1 was one of my favorite from the horror thriller genre which I have read a few years back .As a sequel to it , this book was well written and interesting to read , the author kept the suspense very well until the climax , but still my favorite is the book 1 as always . While the villain of this book was scary enough , not as scary as Baskar Sadachari himself ! Maya who couldn't find the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to companionship , has staggered more into a pit of the superstitions and curse that never seem to leave her that , she is more cautious and tired than ever . Her beauty is her boon , and the mark that lies on her thigh is the constant reminder of her life darkened by Bhaskar even in his death. A perfect halloween reading , those who havent read part 1 of the book , please do read it's really entertaining and mysterious.
I have always been a big fan of Stephen King and Shirley Jackson and horror has a huge impact on my reading. In fact, my first ever horror read "Dracula" has a profound impact on me which lingers to date. While I was searching for horror writers in India; some years back, I got introduced to Maya's New Husband and Pisacha by Neil D' Silva. I think that was 3 years back and I was genuinely impressed by both of the books. Now then when I came to know that there is a second part that has come and there is another book that will also be spawned to complete it as a trilogy; I definitely had to read this. A horror trilogy will be a cherry on top of the icing for me.
Maya Bhargav is trying to take control of her life back to normalcy after the debacle in Part 1. She lives with her mother Anuradha and sister Narmatha and her baby boy, Abhay. Maya is still not free from the past; frequently seeing Bhaskar almost everywhere she turns. Meanwhile, Mumbai is gripped by some serial killings orchestrated by a cult in the name of upholding traditions and values. A new security guard arrives at the society that Maya resides and tries to get in their good books but doing odd jobs. At the same time, she starts falling for a policeman Dev. The security guard makes a good connection with Abhay. At one point, Maya falls into the hands of the cult. What happens to Maya? Who is the mastermind of the cult? Is there any ulterior motive involving Maya? How does the guard fit in the matrix? forms the rest of the read.
I liked the way the read took off; right from start; picking where the first book had ended and slowly building up the setting. That way after the first half, the read was fast-paced. There were more characters than in the first book and the build-up smoothened the read. I am a fan of books that involves a cult and this piqued my interest very well. The language was smooth and easy to read. The underlying message being conveyed was also correlatable to the current happenings which was in fact a good theme upon which the story was built. There is some sort of disbelief when the author takes us to the past of Suryabhan and how he is unaware of the world in spite of some education. The progress of the story to the end was predictable but as I told it was written well enough to keep us engaged. I liked the way the end paved the way to the premise of the third book which I am eagerly waiting for. There is ample gore in the book which some people might feel uncomfortable with.
The book is fairly engaging and a good read. But I would recommend readers to complete the first book and then read this one so that they can be aware of who Bhaskar Sadachari was and how Maya became the person she is now. There are ample scares and tense moments if you like them and that will keep you engaged throughout.
Title: Maya's New Husband 2 - The Birth of the Death
Author: Neil D'silva
Genre: Fiction
Pages: 286
About Book: Maya's New Husband 2 is sequel to Maya's New Husband. This book is divided into four parts and and further each part is divided into sub-chapters. It belongs to fiction books genre. Maya Bhargav is protagonist in this story who plays role of daughter, sister, friend, wife, widow, teacher and most importantly role of a mother. Yes I found her role more crucial as mother than a wife because she fights more for her son than own self as wife. Writer has made no mistakes in holding readers' attention. At its beginning the story provides element of mystery. As story moves further it provides thrill and mystery in each chapter.
Maya has son named Abhay from her serial killer husband Bhaskar who is dead now. Inspite of Bhasker's death, Maya feels his presence around her which frightens her. She struggles with this fear. She finds her son in danger many times. She always tries to protect him from unknown elements.
After Bhasker's death, Maya finds herself surrounded by men- Policeman, watchman and politician. They plays important roles in her life whether its in her favour or against.
On other side, there is group of people who spreads terror in the city. They behead popular personalities and left their heads on public places. Everyone is horrified by these cruel incidents and unable to find reason behind them.
As story moves toward its end, thriller is on its peak. You can not put book aside. You become eager to know that what gonna happen. Writer has missed no chance to provide thriller in the story. The way author frames story is just fab.
Thriller provided in last few sentences of the story is just breath holding and you can not wait enough for part 3 of the book.
My Recommendation: Honestly, I haven't read part 1 but now I'm definitely gonna read. Author has poured all the effort to make this book interesting for readers and he succeed in it. If you like thriller, mystery, romance and horror then you must read it, you want' regret.
📍This is the second part of the Maya's New Husband Trilogy. It is necessary to touch upon the first part's ending because the word 'Atone' reverberates even now !
📍The book begins by presenting a killer and their patterns of killing appears to have a message they wish to convey. The motive kinda is not revealed quick and this creates an aura of suspense to know the motive and most importantly the KILLER !!!! Grab this book to travel with the trails and traumas and to find the real killer cos it could be anybody !
📍Maya is now a frightened doe after her previous experience with Bhaskar. Though she puts up a brave face in front of Anuradha she eventually gets trapped by the evil hunter. The worst part is that 'this evil' goes beyond the concept of death !!
📍The narration is organic as usual and the treatment of themes is done in an improvised way ❤️
📍Last few chapters were nail biting moments of battle between good and evil. The best part is that the plot doesn't fall into the stereotypical fight between the vice and virtue.
📍The elements of gore is reduced than the first part but it is substituted with black magic and predictions/foretellings.
📍The writer has dealt with social issues which is prevalent even in the contemporary circumstances - Ignorance, patriarchy, superstitions beliefs etc. And the character (Anandi) which supports patriarchy becomes a victim of patriarchy itself answers all the questions.
📍There are many characters in this book but they all serve a purpose be it major or minor ones.
📍The resistance and resilience of Maya needs special applause where she becomes a metaphor of 'come what may' types.
📍The novel ends by promising this is never an end and there is going to be a new drama thereby preparing us for the last part of the trilogy. Have become a fan of these endings because it gives you real chills and the effect of imagery is maximum here.
📍 Recommended to those who loves to read Indian Horror Thriller with a female lead

Dev Diwakar, the policeman of the Bhaskar case, became close to Maya. In the meantime, creative different perspective people's heads cutoff and thrown on the road. Their bodies are missing. These pages in the book will be really scary and even make goosebumps too. That was an election year, election campaigns everywhere in the state, more pressure on police to finish this case. Who killed the 5 person's? Where are their bodies? Who is next? Why are they killing? Questions arise in everyone's mind. and makes people scary Dev and Trilok Nath, the aghori warned Maya that Bhaskar Sadachari is Back. Agoris black magic, life after death, Bandhusakt, their culture and rules are very interesting to read and to know about it. Suryabhan, the watchman of Maya's colony, married Maya, a widower. Maya, forced to undergone this marriage, forced to follow the rules, forced to accept it. Wait wait! What rules? Why did Maya marry a watchman,Suryabhan? Who is the serial killer? Whether Bhaskar Sadachari is back? Mother soul saved Abhay from evil or not? To know about these you should definitely read this book.Trust me this book is really Interesting and Scary. Loved this book!
CAUTION: Please don't read this book at night..!!!
LESSONS LEARNT: Everyone has their own perspective. For some it's wrong, for some it's right. It's up to us, it's up to You, to decide whether you stick with this or that …!
As author/writer myself, the Maya's New Husband series is quite special to me. Three years ago I stumbled upon this book "Maya's New Husband' that changed my perception about not only consumption of horror genre but also piqued my interest in writing in the same genre ... eventually resulting in my first novel being a horrror genre. From there I also become admirer of this then novice author called Neil Dsilva, I read many of his other books (in horrror genre) and loved how he combined horror with elements of Indian folklore.
Coming to Maya's New Husband second instalment , I was eagerly waiting for quite sometime for the second part in series and was elated when I heard the announcement however as it happens with every masterpiece it's second instalment had a very high benchmark to reach. Unfortunately it didn't...
The story in the beginning is gripping and page turner .. honestly even throughout the book never sort of becomes "dragy" because the Hangover of the first part in itself is enough to keep the momentum going. To be honest the concept of the second book is nice however there are some addition that the author seems to have added once the book became a mainstream hit!! These parts like unnecessary sexuality in parts where it wasn't required, unnecessary trying to show 'bhagwakaran' because it's trending on twitter is too forced in an attempt to be webseries like and honestly done to death already in many of them.
Besides Maya's New Husband the og...has a newness, an orginality, the characters were layered, this one plays around some good concepts but never dwels deep, and the characters unlike previous are flat ...even Maya...unlike her older self I found this new Maya to be quite shallow and single track minded ..all and all something thay could have been a very good plot wasn't executed well because of too much and too forced elements in plate. My verdict a 3 star
The second book of the trilogy ‘Maya’s New Husband’ does complete justice to its first part. It’s been a year since the death of the serial killer Bhaskar Sadachari, still Maya couldn’t get out of the haunted memories of her catastrophic married life. It isn’t so easy for her to bring up his child, as she finds herself being followed by three men - a friendly policeman, a young security guard and a sage turned politician.
At the same time a new series of killings, targeting the celebrities, rises in the city, with a mark of Bhaskar Sadachari. Has he returned from the dead? Or is it the birth of a new demon? Can Maya save her little one from the clutches of the evil? Grab your copy to know more.
Just as the first part, this is again a horrific thriller. The gore is comparatively low but black magic has been introduced. The mysterious ambience has been maintained throughout the read, that keeps the readers hooked.
Behind the thriller, it also gives us a clear picture of ignorance, patriarchy, male chauvinism and how superstitious beliefs can manipulate the uneducated people.
Speaking of the character development, I loved the strong female protagonist, Maya, who chose to fight. Dev kept moving in and out of the character whereas Suryabhan was quiet unrealistic.
The language is smooth along with the proper paced narration. It has a lot of twists and turns, both predictable and unpredictable. Though it is a sequel, you can still catch up even if you haven’t read the first part. The story winds up by giving higher expectations for the last portion. I would love to recommend it to the horror lovers.
If you have read Maya's New Husband, you would have understood what horror is all about. Neil D' Silva's first novel is terrifying and will leave you feeling sick and disgusted - which is how a good horror story should. When i read Maya's new husband, i felt nauseated and then realized how good an author Neil is that he made me feel this way.
Maya's New Husband 2: The birth of the death is the sequel to Neil's first novel. There is no doubt that this will become a bestseller too. If you are looking for a racy tale with a lot of terrifying moments, then don't miss reading this book. Once you start reading, you won't feel like putting the book down or rather closing Kindle! It's that engrossing, thanks to Neil's brilliant writing style.
I don't want to share much about the story because i then have to share spoilers. However, if you haven't read the first book - read that first before taking this one up. The book is the story of Maya Bhargava, the heroine of the first novel. Her terror never seems to end with a combination of new and old horrors awaiting her.
Neil brings in some old characters from his other novels into this book. The author leaves a lot of clues and you can guess what is likely to happen. But the gore and the horror is something that will leave you shocked as well as engrossed. The ending is satisfying and leaves the prospects of a third part open.
This novel is a must for all those who are fans of the horror genre. If you have read the first one, then you cannot afford to miss this one A great read and strongly recommended.
I have already reviewed the previous book Maya's New Husband and this book is the sequel to it. Similarly this is also a horror thriller by the author. It is not surprising that since I loved the first book I didn't waste time to pick up the sequel.
New horrors wait for Maya in this story and her nightmares didn't end as she thought it would be. Abhay her new - born son is also the target of the evil along with her. She is surrounded by men who has different motives.
On the other hand a new case of serial killing rises where certain celebrities are beheaded and their heads are left to br found by the public but their bodies are hidden.
This book also has gore and there is presence of paranormal entity. It is as spine-chilling as the first one but the book shows real horror lies in the uneducated, regressive and twisted minds of people who are the real devils.
This book definitely kept me hooked and the ending made me want more. Since it is a trilogy I can't wait for the third part to release. It happens many times that the sequels are not good as the previous ones but this book didn't follow that trail. It was gripping right from the first line with it's brilliant writing style. The new characters introduced in the book was well developed.
This book has been an evolution in every way. The author has improvised his writing style, over language, an amazing choice of vocabulary that keeps you mesmerized and takes you on a visual roller coaster. This is a huge improvement from the first part. If we didn't like the week submissive Maya in the first installment, we would be in awe of her as she comes forth as a strong woman ready to face all odds and even questioning her sexuality at times. The addition to this part is Abhay Bhaskar Sadachari, Maya's son. Maya is still haunted by Bhaskar's presence even after a year. Her disillusionment and hysteria get a shot in the arm when celebrity heads start rolling shaking the law enforcement and the city as a whole. Maya now surrounded by men especially her condominium security guard who is virilely attractive and doesn't shy away from passing sensual innuendos. He wins the family trust, the aftermath of which is catastrophic, taking the reader to a crescendo of thrill and horror. The only flip point is a tiny event, in the end, questioning science, but then ultimately given the genre it can be overlooked. The story is fast-paced and the author leaves us with a little cliffhanger... making you look forward for the final installment in the trilogy.
Let's start with the fact that I didn't expect much frm this book. This was the first time I was reading the any book by the author. But honestly this book surprised me. I liked it pretty much 😍.
I didn't read the first part but as I read this one I got the glimpse of that book too. It took me a while to get used to the writing style but afterwards I was completely engrossed in it. The plot kept me till the end. I was intrigued by how well the author portrayed the Indian mentality. One thing that I despise as an Indian is the old Indian mentality nd the author bought that into light.
This is the first time that I have Read a book with this interest to learn something. Usually I read just for escaping. But in this book I got to learn pretty much abut the culture I didn't knew. I loved the way how the author webbed the story with paranormal connections around the thrilling plot portraying Indian mentality nd issues so well. I felt disgusted just by reading it. It made me wonder abut the people who go through it. Over all this was indeed an amazing ride 😍😍👍🏻
This book is full of illusions. The readers will travel with belief and disbelief. Because, of the black magic, mystery. Maya has a ray of hope with her son Abhay after her husband's death. Gang murder is common. Bashkar is Maya's husband and a gang murderer. After his death Maya has focused by the police man Dev, the newly joined watchman and the politician. She has commitment with three of them with helping tendency. They are her in her hard situations. Dev is helping by resolving the case of her husband. The watchman has helped her to find her lost son. Politician gives some information about her husband.
Even though Maya's husband has died, she felt his presence.
Did she did her husband's death rituals?
How did Maya and her son has kidnapped?
Why are they kidnapped?
Did they misused the kid for rituals?
What is the secret behind the kidnap?.....
These are the storyline. To know clearly read the book.
Language is easy. Plot description is heart bursting Thriller
Did it instill a curiosity? Did it send a shiver down my spine? Did it occupy every part of my brain? - Yes yes yes, it totally did.
Maya, a widow of Bhaskar(who's definitely better off dead) lives with her family and has her entire world surrounded around her wee baby Abhay. With the past hounding her every minute of her life and the present engraving new scars makes her attempts at making a simple future all the more futile. The story displays the fragments of the society where aghoris, black magic, ghosts and superstitions still exists.
The book irked me with the thoughts of what's a sin for one, isn't a sin for another. Is it the act which is filthy or the mind which is filled with filth. And who's to decide which sin/filth needs a punishment.
I generally detest watching horror movies, but I thought what harm would a book do. Holy moly - looks like I'll have to keep the lights on while I sleep tonight.
PS: Hoping the curtains don't sway too much tonight and fretting over the fact that the taps aren't fixed.
Horror. I normally don't read books in this genre but what harm could one do if I pick it once in a while.
Maya was pregnant when she killed her serial-killer husband. She now lives with her family with her four month old son Abhay. Although it's been a year since her husband died, she is still hounded by his presence. New horrors await her as she is surrounded by men with evil motives. A new case of serial killing arises where celebrities are beheaded with their bodies hidden but their heads are left to be discovered by the public. Who is this new serial killer?
With a heapful of aghoris, tantriks and their superstitions, the author had touched a subject of utmost importance, the narrow-mindedness and superstious beliefs of people still prevalent in India. I can't say I loved the book but I didn't hate it either. It was okayish for me.
There were paranomal instances in the book which were somewhat scary and there were lots of twists and turns which will keep you hooded but at some parts I felt the plot was dragged. Overall it was a decent read.
Maya's husband is a gang murderer. It's been a year after the death of her husband. Days goin on, now she is living happy life with her child. The child is now everything for her. But sometimes she feels the presence of Bhaskar at the night time. Now her present life is encircling by three members. One is a policeman, who is investigating the case of her husband and giving some information about case sometimes. Then a young apartment watchman who is having eye on the children. Finally, a politician who is monitering the murder case around the city and her husband's case since she requested. There are many murder activities happening in the city. One bad day, her kid was missing. At this time, the story interesting and the main matter of the story starts from here. To know further story, just grab. The cover of the book is quite eager to read. It's like a movie. Easy language and you'll definitely enjoyed reading it.
Neil D'Silva is becoming a necessary read. There is something so engaging about his storytelling that one is constantly drawn back to his works especially if you are a horror fan.
When I finished the first part, I already had the second part but somehow didn't read it immediately. Honestly had made an assumption about the story line but D'Silva managed to create a surprising different story line.
Maya finds herself stuck between the thoughts of the past and heading towards a future with her infant son. Yet there is a shadow of the past that doesn't seem to let go. A series of killings around the city rattle her but she tries to ignore the impending sense of doom until it walks to her doorstep.
This one was more packed with action and one amazing horror trope that I have always loved - that of collective delusion.
If you haven't read D'Silva's books as yet you must.
I really liked this second installment more than the first. It's totally unsettling and disturbing. Maya's character has become more stronger and bolder. As that has been said- mother's are more stronger than a woman. Every character is well explained with a backstory that makes me understand their mind-set well though not acceptable. Also there are mentions of characters from the other books by the author which is kind of exciting and it is fitted quite well with the story. Ending of the first one was a bit dramatic but this one's ending is superb and more satisfying. Though this book also ended with an opening, so I guess there will be a third book also. I hope so. The narration is strong and gripping. Language is lucid. It's an enthralling read
Being an ardent admirer of Neil D'Silva's previously written books- Pishacha, Maya's New Husband, Yakshini, and having read them delighted me; the narration, storyline, and rich vocabulary. Reading Maya's New Husband 2 took an opposite turn for me. The book was a drag for me and I couldn't keep up with it on fast pace. It took me many turns, pushing myself to complete it and enjoying the storyline. I am not sure if I actually admire the book but I am rating it based on written capabilities and the buildup of chapters. If one wants to read gore, serial killer incidents and society stereotypes, may go with this one. Still I would highly recommend one to read books I mentioned above, which are definitely better ones than this part 2.
This is a sequel to Maya’s New Husband. Now Maya, the protagonist, is free from her devil husband, Bhaskar, and wants to protect her son Abhay from the evil eye. She always feels the presence of Bhaskar and is frightened that he might come back.
Meanwhile, she meets Dev, a police officer who handled the case of her dead husband. Gradually, they start to like each other.
Is it a perfect horror story?
No, the twist is yet to come — but you’ll know it when you read this book. When I started reading it, I felt bored and didn’t feel connected with the story. But as I turned the pages, I found it very interesting. I liked the characters and the writing style, and the first part of the book was really amazing. I would like to read the third part of this series very soon.
Mumbai is in pandemonium as a strange group of people have started committing homicide in the name of societal cleansing. They want to behead every person they believe is polluting society by performing acts of vulgarity. Maya is no stranger to these murders, but very soon, she's going to realise how she's more connected to them than she ever wanted to be.
This book is a great read. The first part of this series was very entertaining as well and I recommend this one to everyone as well. This book is best understood if you have already read the first part of this series. Needless to say, it is best suited for an adult audience.
"The words filled her with an untold anger, but she did not bother to reply to that hare-brained antiquated logic."
After reading part 1, I couldn't wait to read it's sequel. The story starts off with one year after the death of Bhaskar. Maya, who's now the mother of a baby boy Abhay, feels his touch and sees him everywhere. She is terrified. She tries to protect Abhay, whom she is scared of.
Also, there are several killings in the city, that dreads everyone.
The second part of the series was more thrilling than the first, so I urge everyone to read it.
A much awaited sequel to Maya's New Husband and I am delighted. The highlights of reading this sequel is :
- Humans strive to hope and those who do; get things done despite all odds - Some people are so warped in their heads that no matter how much logic you feed, they're too set in their ways - How far can you go for love?
Without putting in any spoilers, these are the core aspects for me as a reader from this book. Horror or not, this book gives you a glimpse of the skewed minds that are around us. I think, enough said... it's a great read.
Continuation of Maya’s Journey. Gripping read though the climax was not tat of suspense. But good read. However I personally felt the first one was very good.
I was eager to know what happened to maya after bhaskar's demise and how would the story turn out and it was amazing A must read for all the bibliophile
