★ His Curvy Shot Girl A Steamy, Instalove, High Heat Romance featuring love at first sight between a sexy, muscular bar owner and a sassy, curvy shot girl who live happily ever after! ★
3.5 ⭐️ quick and easy read, only six chapters. Made me uncomfy at times w its wording. Good for a smutty get-out-of-a-slump read. Was it my favorite? No. Will I read more of these? Yes.
Definitely don’t get your hopes up with a long drawn out book. I’ve barely read enough material to make a review…. Still won’t be any spoilers though.
The plot - this is a 28 page novella. There’s your forbidden romance and workplace romance vibes, but that’s pretty much it. I’d say 50% of this book is smut, but it’s still only a 2/5 on the spice scale because it was one sex scene and mid at best. It’s not a HEA, because… well we haven’t even got a relationship yet. But the premise is good, if you want to see if this kind of shot girl X boss who owns the club with a curvy girl and an Adonis male vibes are for you, this would be the book to read.
The MC - didn’t get to know Kate that well but she’s got fire, and she’s a sassy bitch. I loved that about her, it was very enticing.
The male counterpart - Jaxon is as rash and impulsive as they come. Despite claiming he’s a stellar businessman, all of his decisions point to the contrary. He was alright, but we didn’t get to REALLY know him well enough to decide if he’s facetious or a nice guy.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Kate is working at the local store the night that she meets Jaxson, he offers her a job as one of his shot girls, but with the money he is talking she can’t afford to pass up, but surely with her figure there is no way that she will be as popular as he thinks she will be. Jaxon has the hottest club in town and it is just getting bigger, so when they run out of vodka he has to go to the store and what he finds behind the counter has his mouth watering. Kate is everything he could want in a woman, curvy in the extreme with a confidence that je finds sexy as hell and he wants her. Can he convince her to work for him and of how much he wants her?
This isn’t a bad review for this book in any way shape or form because the idea behind it was sound and I did enjoy the story as it was but it was over before it started and there was no real ending it leaves you wondering what will happen next. I like other reader look forward to the happily ever after and you won’t get that with this story. I hope that there is more to come from this author with more of a story rather than what I call an interlude. 3* Read
The author advertises this as having a hea but it’s a happily for now AT BEST. She barely likes the guy for 97% of the novella until they have sex and she’s like, yeah sure? Guy of my dreams? He’s very much a playboy and wants to do the new girl so he does in his car. She immediately says this doesn’t mean anything. He asks her if she wants to go to dinner and she accepts. THE END. wth???
The abrupt end killed this for me. I actually thought it was some kind of error on my Kindle when it said the book was finished. I enjoyed the characters and they deserve a fleshed-out novella at the very least. Kate is badass and confident, I love her. She deserves a full novella story, not a piece of a story.
It's a pretty short story but I love the sass that Kate has.... She is just perfect..... It's an open end book ... I was not a big fan of the chance encounter but the thought of how Kate and Jaxon's relationship grows has me loving it.... Even though I wanted a little bit more, but I'm okay with what I've got here ...
I picked up this book during the "stuff your kindle". It wasn't quite what I thought it would be. Less than 30 pages. It wasn't horrible, I think I was just looking for a longer read. This is a new author to me, and I'd definitely look into some of her other works to get a better feel for her writing.
Quick read into finding the one to help you at your bar but you see more want more that was how he felt about Kate. She was a strong curvy beautiful women who kicked ass selling shots at his bar. He manages to talk her into rocking his world after work. I could have gone for more. It was so fast and then it was over.
I didn't have high expectations coming into this and I'm still left disappointed somehow. It is exactly as the title says but for something so short I expected at least the spice to be decent and it wasn't at all. Personally not for me but would recommend to anyone that wants something short and quick or just a palate cleanser.
Was slightly concerned i would be left hanging by the last few chapters but im very happy to find out that we got some action even though the chosen environment was horrible. I loved the funny sassy curvy fmc most of the things she said made me grin or giggle amused by how much sass she gives her boss.
Very quick read, perfect for those of us who are definitely not hitting our reading goal this year lol. But it was funny and cute. It did feel a little rushed but I mean I think this book or novella was under 100 pages so what else do you expect. It would make a nice full length story.
The other reviews weren't kidding. Abrupt ending. I didn't mind it, going in knowing it was a quick novella. I like what the author tried to do with the main characters but they didn't feel fleshed out. I wish it was longer because I think I really could have loved this book.
Wow this was very short but very hot. It was interesting how fast it went but boy that was some backseat romp. I don't think either character had anything to lose by this one night of fun! And they sure did have fun!
Quick read! I wish it was slightly longer so it could be fleshed out more, but it was a good read! It is the epitome of a one night stand, so the title of One Night With My Boss makes sense.
True to characters positions I guess but my first instinct was that the guy was a douche. Well written though so that makes up for the douce in the beginning.
