Milestone Mischief #5

Snubbing My Billionaire Boss

Have you ever made a decision you thought was for the best, then you realized you were wrong? Like maybe it was the worst choice you’d ever made, and now you had to clean it up?

Felicia
Yeah. That was what my life looked like less than a year after picking up and moving away from my hometown.

I’d lied. To everyone I loved. My family. My best friends.

My baby-daddy.

Yep. I, Felicia Stone, had run from my hometown of Milestone with my tail between my legs and a bun in the oven without telling a soul I’d gotten myself knocked up during a one night stand.

Now, I was back, trying to fix my mistakes.

I thought coping with a secret pregnancy far from home was hard, but I quickly realized resisting Marshall Parker was much harder.

Marshall
When I found out what Felicia had been hiding from me, I panicked and said some things I regretted. But one look into my son’s blue eyes, and I was in love.

I made a lot of mistakes with her, but now that she was back in my life, I wanted to fix them all. She thought keeping our relationship strictly platonic and professional was the right choice, but I had other ideas.

I wanted her. And I was pretty sure that despite her fears, she secretly wanted me, too. Our one night together had been incredible until I went and messed it all up, and I wanted a do-over.

And I intended to get it.
Snubbing My Billionaire Boss is book #5 in the Milestone Mischief Series. It is a sweet & steamy standalone with no cliffhanger.

She wrote YA paranormal romance for 6 years under the name Wendi Wilson before giving into her desire to write spicy romcoms, and it was the best career decision she’s ever made…until she decides to write a book about the ghosts. Because they are definitely real.

The fucking Miscommunication trope was not it. So much of the problems I’m this book could’ve been solved if the female character learned to open her mouth and talk instead of running away from her problems with her tail tucked between her legs. It probably would’ve helped if she used some common sense. Also if the male lead was more adamant about talking that could’ve helped. Instead we get stuck with a wattpad story that deals with communication

Solid contemporary romance with bosses baby trope crossed with lost and found one night stand. Also a bit of runaway bride without the bride more like runaway mother. The tropes blend and are many and while a bit of a 'small town with a set of good friends' is a bit wedged into the story line. I liked it. The series is one you can skip around in and still know whats going on.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants a contemporary series they can pick up and put down all year for beach and vacay reads.

What a great end to the Milestone Mischief series! I had guessed the reason that Felicia left town so I wasn't too surprised that this book had the secret baby trope. I really enjoyed seeing the different side to Marshall than we had seen in previous books and his and Felicia's chemistry was super sizzling! I am really going to miss these characters now that the series is done, but I cant wait to see what Piper James does next!

Marshall and Felicia were amazing! These two definitely belong with another. Even though it took some time for them to figure it out! I’m so glad that Marshall never gave up on her! They were definitely meant to be! 💜

Felicia. Felicia. Felicia.
What else can you say about a character that you instantly fall in love with, but also wanna scream at for just being THAT dumb? I know that we can't judge people by their actions, but I SURE DID. From page one.

Felicia made things 100% harder on herself and everyone in her life than she had to from the jump. She didn't trust her friends. Assumed the worst of a man she barely knew and screwed herself out of a great thing. But then she comes back to town looking to make amends, and you start to feel better about her. For a bit. Honestly, she was hard for me to like. Just because she keeps getting in her own dang way. All. The. Time.

And poor Marshall. The dude is a good guy who is in LOVE with a damaged and suspicious of everyone girl. He does his best, but it just never seems to be good enough. And I really found myself feeling bad for the guy. He does what is right, always. Even if it will cost him what he wants and needs. You can't help but fall for a guy like that, right?

Eventually, it all works out. That's what I love about romance and rom-coms. There is always a happy ending. And you can't hate the writer for getting you so invested in her characters quickly and easily.

This really felt like the perfect ending to the series. 10/10 for the entire Milestone Mischief series. Well done, Piper James!!!

I have been an ARC reader for Piper James since she started writing in the romance genre, and to say that this has been one of the best things that have come out of my TikTok obsession would be an understatement.
I have found some amazing authors through TikTok, but Piper James has far and away become a favorite of mine. I can't wait to see what else she comes up with!

Snubbing My Billionaire Boss is book five in Piper James’ Milestone Mischief series, and may be my favorite one yet—after Karly and Max’s story, of course, since Karly will always be my favorite character.

Book 5 is Felicia and Marshall’s story and deals with the fallout of their one-night stand in a previous book, a huge misunderstanding resulting from it, and an unexpected pregnancy. Felicia’s first instinct is to run away from everyone and everything, leaving everybody, including Marshall—the father—in the dark. But now she’s back and ready to come clean, no matter the consequences because it’s what’s best for her son.

I found this book to be just as much fun as it was serious watching these strangers—in every way but the biblical—navigate a new life together. Felicia is so serious and determined to do the most responsible thing while Marshall sees Felicia coming back into his life as a second chance to get things right. But it won’t be easy when her stubbornness thwarts his every flirtatious move. And then there’s Marshall’s a**hole father to contend with.

If you loved the first four books in this fun, flirty, sweet and spicy romantic comedy series, then you will love this one too. I know I did. Well done, Ms. James. I can’t wait to read whatever comes next.

This book was just as great as I thought it would be!

I had guessed at the reason why Felicia ran away so I wasn’t too surprised. But I had been looking forward for this book for so long and it did not disappoint!

I always thought of Felicia as being the serious and strong willed one. I enjoyed seeing the softer side to her and the way she handled motherhood was admirable.

I had always wondered why Marshall had suddenly left as he seemed to be the sweeter of the two. It was truly great seeing him step up to his new role and I was totally swooning whenever I read about him and MJ.

As usual a misunderstanding arises and gets out of hand because of there being no communication. But I was glad that they sorted it out quicker than the other couples as they both deserve a happy ending.

If this is the last book in the series then that makes me really sad. I have fallen hard for these characters and I would miss seeing the milestone mischief group. Piper James has done a brilliant job at writing this series and I recommend for all romcom lovers to read.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank goodness I finished that book! What an awful and boring plot line of constant miscommunication. The beginning was ok but it was painfully finishing the last third of the book.

Thoughts while reading:

I thought this book would ahve groveling but it’s really mediocre and doesn’t. This book is slightly underwhelming and I do not like the fact that the girl immediately moved into the guys house!! Like what? How is that making him grovel? And she works with him and everything. There isn’t much rejection at all.

Also the whole miscommunication thing being the reason they aren’t together is tired. The plot is very amateur. Like Mitchell is finally ready to tell Felicia how he feels and he wants them to be a family and then his dad comes in and obviously forges a paternity test and she automatically believes it. I just know this is going to be the outcome even tho I read this page like a minute ago because this book is predictable and not in a good way

Snubbing My Billionaire Boss written by Piper James is the fifth book of the Milestone Mischief series. This book is about Felicia Stone and Marshall Parker and their experiences after having a one-night stand that produced a son. From the moments that make you laugh out loud to the steamy sex scenes that’ll get you hot and bothered, you will enjoy this passionate, heartwarming adventure.
Only trying to do what’s best for M.J, Felicia moves back home to allow Marshall the opportunity to be a father. Even though Marshall had no idea about M.J, he gets over the shock and instantly falls in love with him. Not wanting to miss out on any aspect of his life he comes up with the idea that Felicia and M.J should move in with him. While trying to live and work together along with co-parenting, Felicia has to continually fight off her attraction to Marshall.
Too afraid to do anything to disrupt their arrangement, Felicia tries to ignore his advances. She is hesitant to pursue anything more with him in case things turn out badly. He makes her feel things that she doesn’t want to feel, reminding her of the time they shared. The one night they had together was a night neither one of them can easily forget, and with her willpower fading, she can’t find the strength to deny him much longer.
When an unexpected ordeal arises, Felicia feels forced to disrupt their new reality. The growing relationship they were developing comes to an abrupt stop when Felicia realizes Marshall doesn’t trust her. Their exploration into life, parenting, and love will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, eager to find out what happens next. Find out if Felicia and Marshall allow their affections to dimmish, or if they’ll fight for their newfound love.

As I’m writing this after finishing the series I can’t help but feel bummed it all came to an end, until I found that Annabelle gets her story! However, this starts a completely different series, taking me away from Milestone and I don’t know how I feel about that. Annabelle’s book is the beginning of something completely different, and I am curious how it would turn out. Anyway, in terms of this book, the pattern continued, marring a 4 from me. Despite really enjoying the last book in this series, I was a bit annoyed by Felicia’s antics and her drive to stay away from Marshall. Her stubbornness and inability to accept her feelings in the beginning went on too long. When she finally let her walls down, the story was much better. I found myself getting more into it on the second half, though the first part was interesting too. I can honestly say that I didn’t expect her to end up getting pregnant from her and Marshall’s one night stand, so this was surprising to me. For once I didn’t read ahead and find out what this book will be about prior to reading it and there was less predictability than I anticipated from this book. The message I got after reading this, is truly to never let something go unanswered or ignored about because it winds up being a big misunderstanding, causing lots of unnecessary emotions and immediate responses that should be thought about before taking action. I’m sad this series is over but so glad I discovered this series in my subscription emails as they proved to be very entertaining and enjoyable.

I loved returning to Milestone and seeing what was going on with these lovely characters. I had been eager to read about Felicia since she moved away because I had a sneaking suspicion as to the reason for her sudden departure.

After reading about these characters for five books now, you come to feel as if you know them and it's such excitement when you see them in the pages of the next story. Since this book was about Marshall, obviously we see some of Max and Karly, but we also see all the rest of the previous characters at one point or another. It really makes the reader get a sense of returning home or to a place they hold dear and seeing old friends and family.

I love the heat we get between the characters and the spicy scenes when they allow themselves to give in to their attractions. And it's so great to watch the back and forth, the obstacles in their way and to see them be able to work things out in the end, because yes, this is a HEA ending!

I'm not sure if Ms. James intends to continue writing in this world she's created, but I'd devour every word if she did!

Great final book to the series!

This is the fifth and final book in the Milestone Mischief series. It tells the stories of Felicia and Marshall.

I have been eagerly waiting to read this book as I loved the other four books in the series. The way the series incorporates all of the characters gives you a glimpse into what was to come in the book. This book draws you in right at the beginning and it was hard for me not to finish it in one sitting. Felicia and Marshall had major obstacles to over come before finding their groove. This book tells a real love story. One you can connect with. Felicia was afraid and worried about what returning home would bring but she did it for the betterment of her son, much like any mother would do for their child. Watching these two characters fight their feelings while figuring out who they were themselves and to each other was amazing. I will miss immersing myself into the lives of these characters but I am so glad they all got their happy ending. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone.

4.5 Stars! What a great end to the “Milestone Mischief” series! When Felicia returns to Milestone with her baby boy in tow, we see a side of both her and Marshal we hadn’t yet seen. Felicia wants stability for her son above all else, so she wants to keep their co-parenting platonic to save their son from future heartbreak. Marshall has other ideas. While he fell head over heals for MJ, he wants it all with Felicia.

I loved their chemistry. It is apparent from the beginning of the book (well its been apparent since “Teasing Mr. Moneybags”) that Felicia and Marshall have amazing chemistry. When it finally explodes its so, so HOTT! Neither Felicia nor Marshall can get enough.

I enjoyed this book overall. I was so frustrated with Felicia! I needed Karly to go in and boob-punch her for me! I yelled at Marshall a few times too, but he didn’t frustrate me as much.

I definitely recommend this one!

HEA, No cheating or love triangle.

Before Piper James, I would read rom-com romance as a palate cleanser between some of the darker paranormal romances that are my thing. Mostly because they were the “fade to black” kind of stories that are okay, but just not my preference. Well, Ms. James has changed that for me. :) The entire Milestone Mischief series is funny, sweet and spicy. This one is no different.

I really like how the various couples interplay in all the books in the series, but especially in this one. They support Marshall and Felicia as they find their way through the emotional mess they keep making because they won’t just talk to each other! If you like the other books, this one won’t disappoint. You’ll cheer when they finally get it and admit what they feel for each other.

What a great story for Felicia and Marshall. Felicia left Milestone in a panic after finding out she was pregnant, and in this book she returns to town to face her fears and finally introduce Marshall to his 3 month older son. They are both working through their inner demons - Felicia is worried that Marshall may only want to be with her because of their son - and Marshall is afraid he is going to lose Felicia all over again. The story is beautifully written as we get to watch them work through their trepidation and become stronger together through love and communication. Perfect happily ever after for another couple in Milestone.

I'm really bummed that this is going to be the last book in the series. I have enjoyed the Milestone Mischief series immensely and will most definitely read these again. I've been waiting for Felicia's story since book three so I'm so excited that it's finally here. Felicia left town a few months ago, but now she's back. However, she didn't come back alone. She has her newborn son with her, the child that she conceived with Marshall. As I was reading this, I was rooting for them from the beginning. I wanted them do make it, but I had a feeling that his dad would come into play, just as he did with Max and Karly. Piper writes so beautifully. I can't wait to read the rest of her books.

This book was absolutely wonderful! It gave me all the feels. I was literally teary eyed, trying to not cry during the first few chapters. It just all felt so real.

Felicia's and Marshall's story was so raw, emotional, heartwarming, and all that I wanted and more. Their love for one another is to die for (as are the sex scenes *fans self*). The sex seems to get hotter and hotter with each book. And boy, do I approve!

I always devour every one of Piper's works. I just cannot put them down. They are my feel good escapes!

And just so you know, I called it! 🤣🤣

Snubbing my billionaire boss is book five in Piper James’ Milestone Mischief series. Felicia and Marshall’s story.
After have a one night stand that results in an unexpected pregnancy Felicia ran away. When she returns to Milestone with baby in tow she hopes Marshall will want to be apart of his sons life. Scared and afraid of what Marshall will say and do she tells him. They both hide their true feelings for awhile and finally give into their carnal urges.
This story is amazing and I fell in love with both Felicia and Marshall.

It was okay, but the heroine pissed me off. If she had just opened up her mouth 90% of the problems would've been resolved. Maybe this is because I don't like the whole " miscommunication trope" but the whole paternity thing was tiring. IF SHE HAD JUST SAID SOMETHING THE PROBLEM WOULD"VE BEEN SOLVED.

the writing was good, I don't think I would re-read this.

edit: The heroine was also super indecisive. One day she hates him, the other she likes him. She led him on a lot which I did not like at all.

An absolutely perfect addition to the Milestone family! Full of warm humor and sizzling sexual tension, book five fits right in with the rest of the series. I've always thought Felicia was a great character, from book one, so I'm so glad to see she got her own story and her own HEA! As always, I love seeing the rest of the characters and the direction their lives have taken.
I am seriously going to miss Milestone if this is the end!

Book 5 in the series ended with everyone in the friend group married and living happily ever after! I liked that the author continued to include the past couples instead of just mentioning them in passing, as it made the friend group seem more realistic.
The miscommunication trope was heavy in this book, but thankfully it wasn’t dragged out and was quick to be resolved. I love me some good fluff so I really enjoyed this book! I’m going to miss this couple and little baby M.J. 💜

I was sent the book early and I’m happy to note that it was an enjoyable read. I love reading romance and especially office romance with humor thrown in. I was hooked from the beginning and liked the character build up of Felicia and Marshall. This was the first book I have read from Piper James and I will be going back for more.
