The 2nd book in this series picks up  smoothly right after the 1st. It seems that Kyria has gone from the frying pan into the fire as she's taken to the Fae kingdom against her will. She is delighted to find her twin brother still alive but he is not how she remembers him and she fears he has become like the strange Fae around her. She finds the Fae behaviour and appearance strange and her grandfather, the king, even stranger. She fears that all is not as it seems and she's right! When she discovers how the Fae are manipulating her brother, she is even more determined to leave but that seems all but impossible. Although all is not lost, she still has Quinn by her side and a few Fae rebels who pledge to help her. When she experiences a surprise effect as the evil mage Ravenia restores her Fae appearance she is astonished. Kyria finally sees the Fae for what they are and her life is in danger. She is confronted by betrayal, by deception as she tries to navigate the lies. Finally managing to flee the Fae kingdom, Kyria has enemies on all fronts as she rushes to stop her husband before he annihilates the dragon defenders and her lovers. I liked how Kyria grows in this book, how her strength and her live are her greatest tool, very credible. This was a wonderfully paced book, lots of drama, lots of action and a lot of surprises. I absolutely recommend this entire series!

OMG, this book was fantastic. Once I started reading I was hooked and could not put it down. It moves along at a pace which made for an extremely comfortable and relaxing read. The characters , wow, you will fall in love with them and you feels as though you know them and you want to be there with them to support them with whatever they need you for. The story will grab you and keep you turning pages till you reach the end and then you need more. This is a must read and needs to be on your TBR list you will not be sorry that you did.

I love this author's work usually and must confess that this the first book in the series that I have read. However, the publicity says that it can be read as a standalone book.

I found the book to be very long and the plot inconsistent as, if the purpose was to return to the Defenders site, it is never reached untill the end in a very brief escapade. In addition, no leeway is given to the fact that Kyra is both the Fae Princess as well as the Human Queen. The Ruling Grandfather is, in the book, a pompous rear end, to be polite and is easily run and managed by mages that he allows to disrespect the actual reigning royal family, going further as to allow the murder of his wife and son by them, the murder of his daughter and her human husband and allow them to make s complete fool of his next in line, Kyra's brother, Alexi.

So right from the start, the reader, by reading between the lines, is made aware that the reigning Fae king is either a clown, a spineless puppet or a clueless sex driven idiot.

Since this is all clear, why does the book have 321 pages approx. ? I skipped over so many pages, a thing I hate having to do to get back to the story, that I would not recommend this book and award it 2 Stars.

First of all: OMG!!! This book is so awesome!!! I don't even know where to start without giving spoilers. I guess with a warning: Brace yourself!, so many things happen in this book that you are not expecting, so many things that you where sure of twist, and then twist again and you don't know when they would change again! But Kyrie and her defenders remain strong, in love, soul bounded even when not near each other and it is great to see them grow. Here you will find people you love to love and people you love to hate and even some you will hate to hate. Do not miss this book!!!!

This is becoming my current favorite series! I don't do spoilers so I will just tell you that this is well worth reading. Lots of loyalty and deceit, friendship and rivalries, ups and downs, twists and turns, dragons, fae, magic and more! Who can be trusted? That's not easy to tell at times. I like the characters so much and am anxious to see what happens next. This was very well written and exciting with well developed characters, both good and bad. I really enjoyed this book and I believe you will too.

Way better than the first!

Well colored me surprised.
It took me a while to finally decide to get back into this series, but the second book was very much a better read than the first.
A few things were made very clear and although there was way too many similarities between the Kings and their right hand mages, it didn’t bother me. In fact it it may have even enhanced the story and what kind of precarious position Kyria really was in.
Dare I say, I’m actually looking forward to the third installment!

This book was incredible! Just like with all of Tara's books, I couldn't put this one down. Tara transports you to a different world in her books. In the Fae Queen's Captors, Kyria's journey involved many discoveries about the Fae world. Kyria had to make some difficult decisions in this book to help better protect herself and her dragon warriors. I can't wait to see more of Kyria's journey in the next book!

I loved seeing Kyria come out of her shell and get to know who she is more

I loved getting to better see Kyria explore her powers and get to have a relationship with her dragon defenders. Watching her struggle with being in a new place and everyone she loves betraying her except for a few broke my heart. I cant wait for book 3 to see how it all plays out!!!
