A few months ago, I read An Unexpected Kiss by Cindy Roland Anderson, and it was an incredibly cute sweet novella that transported me to December in the middle of April. I knew then that I had to give Christmas in Snow Valley a shot. I'm always nervous about trying out anthologies with stories from different authors, because there's bound to be some hits and misses.
Feels Like Love did not disappoint. It was light and sweet and very easy to read. Not to mention short. Christmas romances can tend to drag on and become boring, so this was a very good thing. I did feel that the end was a bit abrupt - another chapter would have been nice. But all in all, my favourite Christmas read so far. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the novellas now.
PS: All 6 authors have come together to write another Snow Valley anthology: Winter in Snow Valley. I'm so excited to read those too!
April is used to city life now and brings her fiance, Scott, home to Snow Valley for a good, country Christmas, while watching her younger siblings for her parents. Her old boyfriend, Wade, is still around and as attractive as ever.
April is adaptable. Scott only knows her as a corporate worker--he doesn't really know who she is deep down and what shaped her to be that way. Wade and April have a painful past and she's ready to make peace with it and move on...with Scott. Wade really is such a great guy, yet Scott does the best he can.
I'm one who doesn't mind a love-triangle and this story definitely has that element. I had my favorite guy, the one I was cheering on.
Once again, this is the perfect setting to get a person in the holiday spirit. I loved the activities the characters participated in. April was such a good sport to help her sister with the gingerbread house contest.

This was a lovely short story with a Christmas theme. I liked the fact that it was not just a romance. It touched on the subject of living with a family member born with a disability, therefore giving this fictional story a realistic feel.
April Winston was on her way home to Snow Valley for Christmas with her fiancé Scott. She had not realized how much of a country girl she was at heart until she returned home with Scott. He made it quite clear from the moment they arrived at her home town that he did not enjoy farm life or country living. He also became annoyed that April had never told him about her former farmer boyfriend Wade, who still tugged at her heartstrings and was practically a member of her family.
April had two brothers Trevor and Ben, and a younger sister Emily. I thought the author did a wonderful job of portraying the family's loving bond, as they all took turns together with a regular nurse, to care for their son and brother Ben, who had cerebral palsy.
As April immersed herself in the festive season, she started to question her feelings for Scott. She started seeing a side to his character which she did not know of until he was away from his home and out of his comfort zone. She began to realize how much more in common she had with Wade and that the love they once shared was as strong as ever.
I really liked Wade's character and the lengths he went to prove his love for April and her family. It was very touching. I thought that this was a very sweet and moving story.
I read this as part of the Christmas in Snow Valley anotholgy. This was a cute story about second chances. April returns to her hometown of Snow Valley with a new fiancé in tow. Scott comes from the city and has a hard time accepting farm life. April is forced to face her ex and try and find closure. I liked the story and thought it was a nice heartwarming story. A fun addition to the series. This was my first book by Ms. Lewis, I look forward to reading more from her.
this was a great story about wishing for things that you thought you wanted when really something better was waiting right around the corner. I think this happens a lot in life we focus too much on what's in front of us and don't realize there's something better if we'll just be patient and wait
April has come home to Snow Valley. Coming home to childhood memories is special and magical for most people. But April is torn. The memories and magic are there, but her fiancé isn't feeling it and she keeps getting caught up in what used to be instead of what is. ADORABLE STORY! I laughed out loud in a few spots! Such a FUN book to put you in the Christmas mood!
This has spoilers. I was not a big fan of this book. I did receive it for free. I just could not look past my dislike for the main character. I thought April was very immature. She seemed to always shift blame on to Scott when she was equally the problem. I think Scott got a bad rap. I think their main problem was that they were just not right for each other. Some parts were just weird like April getting mad over the smallest things but then the one time he says something kind of heartless about her brother she has no problem with that. Scott leaving abruptly was felt so unrealistic. I guess the whole story was because how does a relationship essentially fall apart in less than a week and her restore things with Wade in less than a week. Overall, I think April's personality just grated me and although I like Wade as a character, he was kind of uncool making moves on her when she was engaged. I think this story had potential had it been longer and maybe just not exactly rushed. I think this could have been better because it could have shown a more gradual increase in problems between Scott and April which may have made April look a little less annoying.

This is a thoughtful romance story, in which a young woman discovers that her city fiance isn't super comfortable meeting her family on the farm at home. Her parents are about to head off on the first break they've had in a long time, as they are caring for their son who has a serious disability. He stays at home and his younger sister rounds off the cast nicely, along with our heroine's former boyfriend who never left the town. Why does he show up? Well, someone has to milk the cows.
Responsibility and close family ties are highlighted. We also see that when it is possible to leave the farm, and work indoors, some young women do. This has always been the case. In former generations the farm would automatically be left to the oldest boy, but life has changed. Still, the reader is hoping for a compromise. I enjoyed the read, gingerbread houses, animals, and all.
I read a Kindle version. This is an unbiased review.
OMG..I had to give one star to post...this book really has to be the Worst Book I have EVER read and I am 60+ so I have read many books. I guess I'll start reading reviews first to see if anyone is honest...it was mediocre to begin with but the author Dan totally out of brains at the end..I even went back to see if I skipped a chapter.. Maybe I had a second glass of wine and forgot what I read..I DIDN'T...wish I did!! Kind of like falling off a cliff and hitting rock bottom. I didn't see it coming!!! OMG..if I have not prevented you from reading this book....just remember....I TOLD you so DON'T READ THIS BOOK!!!!!
We are introduced to the rural Idaho town of Snow Valley, where April comes home for Christmas. She brings her fiancé Scott, who isn’t impressed with small-town life and spends most of his time buried in his research project. April’s high school love, Wade, now helps her parents on their farm, and she can’t avoid seeing him both at home and at the many holiday events she and her siblings attend. I enjoyed the way April works through her conflicted feelings about what she thinks she wants and what she knows will make her happy. This is a short novella, but well worth the time to read.
April returns to Snow Valley to show her fiancé Scott where she grew up. What she didn’t count on was Wade Hadley her old high school sweetheart, showing up to do chores, while her parents are away. It looks like the feeling for Wade, April though were gone, might not have gone so far. This was a cute fun clean read, the bantering between April and Wade was cute
Not one of my most favorite reads. The main character comes off too immature and child like. However guess that would be the author's intent when writing about relationships between three people trying to understand or define what love is all about.
Why have Smarties when you can have chocolate cake? She thought she was over her high school love but when she brought his her college fiance things started to change.
How can good friends from their formative days move away and say goodbye? School, finances, family and goals all have an impact. Sometimes reflecting helps
Cute, clean, and slightly unexpected ending. I did think the reignited romance was a bit fast and the fiance such a jerk, I don't know how she fell for him in the first place.
A story that touch of what was April really like. In the city she was all business and had a fiancé . In taking him home to the family and the farm. with an ex boyfriend, shows another side to her. Which does she want. Scott was annoyed she hadn’t told him about a sweetheart when she was younger, the main factor he didn’t like farm life either.
I'm not a big fan of romantic triangles and heroines that don't know what they want, so that colored my opinion of this book. I liked it enough to read to the end and found the conclusion satisfying.
April Winston brings her fiancé Scott Mecham home to Snow Valley to meet her family for Christmas. What she didn’t expect was to still have feelings for her hometown highschool sweetheart Wade Hadley.
Wade won’t cooperate by staying away from her either. Helping out April’s family with the farms chores while April’s parents are away for a few days is Wade who grew close to April’s family when they were dating in high school.
Every time April sees Wade whether on the ranch or running into him in town brings back memories. All Scott wants to do is hunker down and work on his school assignments. He refuses to participate in any of the fun activities taking place in town over the holidays.
I liked how the author showed the true city slicker personality played out in Scott and how inflexible he was. I thought the depth of growth in Wade and April’s characters showed maturity also. One of my favourite characters was Ben and I really liked that the author tried to include Ben in all the activities possible.
I’m glad April came home to face her past before she went forward to face her future. I gave Feels Like Love 5 stars out of 5.
Thank you to the publisher for providing a copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are my own.
