Great series of books. Just finished book 6 an was blown away by how good they were. I am an avid time travel reader and was hooked after the first book. Once it started to twist from the typical time travel books I did not think I would like where it was going but stuck with it and was enthralled till the end. Just like all time travel books you have to park your brain a few times and just go along with it without thinking... As they have the ability to travel through time they could just do abc etc much more easily. But that can happen with most time travel stories. Definitely worth giving this one a go. You will not be disappointed!
So, not really sure how to start this review. It was a long long series. But it was one I read consistently and it was hard to put down at times. I love the time travel concept and have read several amazing books on it and alternate worlds. Some of my favorites are Weaveworld, The Talisman and 11/22/63. So I'm familiar with the concept. There was so much wrong with this book but it still wasn't horrible. I don't give away spoilers so i won't get into the meat of the book. don't think I liked the main character and can't really tell you why except he felt false and arrogant to me. I think it had something to do with the author's description of women (...she was attractive but ....was the norm) that really turned me off. It got better in the last 2 books. All in all a good read. Long but good. The ending was predictable and I thought of three alternate endings that would have made it better. I'm going to try another series of this author's soon before I write him off.
This is a series that starts with promise, then goes downhill rapidly once you open book 4. Evidently there is a literary rule that says book series must be in 3’s. So in order to meet the rule of 3, Mr Gonzalez fills three book with nonsense, inane dialog and character arcs that are completely unnecessary. The entire series could have been tighten up and told in the first three books. All I can say is a that a good editor is worth their weight in the waste of time reading this series turned out to be.
Andre Gonzales writes a wonderful series of time travel. I couldn’t put the books down. They are full of mystery and excitement. I love time travel. Thank you Andre.
I recommend this series to those who love stories on time travel. Martin is offered a chance to go back in time to find what happened to his missing daughter.
