We got more plotline here… but still it feels like things are kind of just thrown together. I also feel that the art is getting less meaningful and it feels like there’s just a lot of a unnecessary nudity.
And now we have actual magic stuff happening! There’s a sex scene that may not hit some readers right. A bit of a spoiler here:
Teresa/Luna finds the Cursed God (he is hot, ofc) and they bang. BUT. She finds him because she’s trading blood and having sex with the cult leader again and is therefore ingesting a form of CG’s blood. Cult leader has clearly just murdered Anita’s boyfriend, but he comes into his room and finds Teresa going through his stuff, so she’s gotta pretend she was there for sex. Anyway... she’s having sex with CG in her mind while having sex with cult leader in her physical body. It reads a lot like disassociation and that’s a common response during sexual assault. So be aware in case that’s a thing you don’t wish to read.
We had actual plot this issue and while I still don’t know what’s going on, I want to keep reading.

4.5. I really liked this issue, but, for the first time, the art was a disservice, and that might be intentional given all the symbolism going on in the background. In multiple places, Teresa looked almost prepubescent, which, in the context of all the sex, was a little weird, but in the context of transformation, means innocence & virginity. I'm so happy we got more info about the Chained God and a potentially literal meaning to "star child." I appreciate the work that goes into pulling symbols in like the white stargazer lilies and the raven, and in the interpretation, like with Yin and Yang both in substance and in the art. There's an awakening here and that's beautiful. But yeah, I'm also with others in wanting Lux gone... But I have a feeling that will be integral to the Chained God's freedom.
I really enjoy this one so much. I did feel that this comic was rather short, especially since we’re getting more world building in this one. it was really strange how it was done tho. Overall this was a pretty good read.
It's becoming slowly more apparent what's really going on. I know I shouldn't, but I kinda liked the cult leader guy. lol So I'm a little sorry his story is going the way it is. But I'm sure everything will happen as it's meant to. This is a bizarre little comic and I am really enjoying it!
