Wolfgang and his team are the best in the business--and that means no days off. When the daughter of a key intelligence official is kidnapped while on vacation in Brazil, Wolfgang and his team are deployed to recover her, using any means necessary. From the outset Wolfgang's crew is ready for a fight, but long before they land it becomes obvious that this kidnapping isn't motivated by money, but by political power. The kidnapper's demands have the potential to compromise global security, and negotiation is off the table. Wolfgang and his team will do anything to recover the girl, but the favelas of Rio are a dark and dangerous place. Fancy gadgets and subterfuge won't be enough this time--they'll need to shoot their way out if the girl has any chance of surviving.

THE WOLFGANG PIERCE SERIES Good story lines, good characters and plenty of action with good dialog and some humor. There are parts of hollywood influence and some boring bits. Source: Ryles' ARC team.
That Time in Appalachia, prequel - An intense, riveting story about the two days before his fifteenth birthday that changes Pierce's life forever. Recommend read first. 5* That Time in Paris, #1 - After working for SPIRE for three years, Wolfgang is working with Edrick now and becomes part of the elite Charlie Team. Pretty neat trick how Wolf stopped a merger. 4* That Time in Cairo, #2 - Picks up four months after Paris ends. I was a bit bored with this story. It was too much hollywood for me, but what they found was interesting in several points. 3* That Time in Moscow, #3 - Pick ups one month after Cairo. Interesting confrontation with a Russian W met in Paris. W is showing more of his insubordination, his inexperience, which of course, moves the story forward. 4* That Time in Rio, #4 - Picks up exactly where Moscow ends. Plenty of action. 4* That Time in Tokyo, #5 - Picks up three months after Rio. Boring beginning and gets worse. Quit at near end of chapter eight. Megan should not have been in Tokyo. She is a disruptive force on the team; there is no team now, lovesick sap or protective brother behavior do not have a place here. 1* That Time in Sydney, #6 - Intense with a lot of happenings. Several characters from the past return. 5* That Time in Bangkok, #7 - Cliffhanger. It's 2013 and Wolf is down and out. The Director shows up with a job. Interesting, intense and plenty of action and a determination to succeed made this a quickly read story. 4*
Another great action packed read from Logan Ryles. This is book number 4 in the series and it follows the exploits of Wolfgang Pierce and the rest of Charlie Team. The writing did a great job in capturing the difficulties experienced by people living in the slums of Rio de Janeiro. There is a hopelessness because of the gangs, there is a low value on human life and yet, for me, it identified that there is a hope with some people, in this case the young children carried the banner. A big thank you to the author and another well deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Logan is a born story teller. I have read every one of his books back to back and they have all been nail biters. Thank you for the action packed entertainment. I only have two more books To go until I finish everything available to me through the Amazon Kindle Premium program and I have already purchased them. As fast as you can write them I will be waiting to read them.
The only real downside to these books is how short they are To put it bluntly, Wolfgang is a brilliant character that just encourages you to read more This time round it's a rescue mission and one with complications. The favelas of Rio are notorious and the team have to go into one to do the job. As ever Wolfgang is the good guy and yet again it pays off
Just finished this 4th book of the backstory on Wolfgang. My only regret is that I didn’t read these before reading the Reed Montgomery series. Hopefully the next few books will help me fully know the Wolf. I look forward to seeing his transformation.
Another compelling storyline with lots of action and interesting descriptive prose of another geographical area I haven't visited. The character development keeps getting deeper and enjoyable. I'd have given it 5 Stars if it was full length!
Unlike the first 3 books, this one has fairly simpler plot. Not many events unfold as Charlie team go on to save the director's daughter. Also, there were quite a few loose ends which might be tied up in the next book. I think the author used this book just as a filler between book 3 and 5.
A great thriller. Non stop action. Pick up this author and you have a roller coaster ride turning pages into the wee hours of the night. Dramatic relief of a high order.
