Trilogy conclusion.
“The final performance! The most incredible transformation! Never before seen!”
Madame Tan’s Menagerie is closing with one last show.
But is the ten-thousand-dollar ticket worth its hefty price tag? Not to me. Unless I turn it into an investment and get the show on tape. With my large social media following, I would find a way to get my money back and earn a profit.
The show turns out to be not what I expected. Nothing is what it seems here, including the owner, Madame Tan. My failure to understand who she truly is nearly costs me my life.
I would’ve had no idea what I walked into that night in Singapore if it wasn’t for Radax, one of Madame’s slaves. He tells me his story and the story of the woman who owns him. More than that, he reveals the horrendous plans she has for the world.
There is no way for me, a mere mortal, to stop what Madame turns out to be. But there are others on Earth who came from Radax’s world. To save life as I know it, I need to find them, unite them, and weaken the force feeding the divine entity that threatens to take over our world.
The fight may cost me all I hold dear, including the man I’ve come to love more than life.
If I knew the price I’d have to pay, would I still do it?
Even I can’t tell.

This was absolutely outstanding! What an excellent ending to the trilogy. I am in awe once again. After reading books one and two, it was a no-brainer that I needed Power of Rage in my life. It was everything I was hoping for and more.

Since meeting Radax in the previous books, I was very eager for his story. I was especially intrigued after seeing his relationship with another member of the show. I knew he was so much more than the monster Madame made him out to be.

Heike is a social media star, and she wants to purchase a pricey ticket to Madame’s show, no matter the cost. Because her goal is to get everything recorded and then turn it into profit. But she had no idea what a crazy ride she was in for when she entered that tent. Luckily, Heike is a fierce and badass heroine with a good head on her shoulders. It’s a good thing, too, because she was smart enough to know right from wrong and could think fast on her feet.

The magical and fantastical world this author created was so interesting and mesmerizing and thrilling and I never wanted to put this story down. The creativeness of everything WOWed me, the intensity and passion knocked my socks off, and the powerful and emotional scenes made me feel all the things! I was utterly captivated from beginning to end. I swear I was in a movie theater watching everything play out in front of me. I could feel, I could hear, I experienced it all!

The chemistry and sparks between Radax and Heike made my heart flutter and I think my kindle sizzled a few times. Their connection and love was so strong, it defeated and overpowered evil. I loved these two together so much!!

I loved seeing the characters from the previous books! It made me realize how much I missed them. They are all so unique and special in their own way. I have loved this series since book one and became more and more amazed as I finished each book. SO EFFING GOOD!

If you’ve read the first two books in the series, then you NEED this book. If you haven’t, you can definitely still enjoy this one, BUT… I strongly believe you’ll love Power of Rage all the more if you read books 1 and 2 first.

Great ending to the trilogy! My heart bled for Radax. CW: there is some pretty heavy references to sexual abuse/trauma in the first part of the book that I found a bit hard to read. As someone who is sensitive to this, I could have used a bit more of a warning.

Beyond that, this is a fantastic book. Heike was my favorite heroine in the series so far. I can't wait to read about Amira!

I had really looked forward to the series conclusion on how the evil goddess Ghata was defeated, but unfortunately, this book didn't work for me even though I had enjoyed every other book in the world prior to this. I started skimming this book at around 60% after a major character was killed in what was supposed to be an emotional dramatic moment, but my honest reaction was just "huh?"

The pacing was very slow, and the overall quest to defeat the villain took way longer than it needed to with extraneous detours and details. I took issue with the way the FMC Heike grew her romance with Radax - from the start, it was from a series of handjobs and blowjobs that eventually ended with full on intimacy. Many supernatural abilities introduced weren't really expanded upon sufficiently, like rage shifting, Radax's tattoos, and even how Heike was able to keep Radax from returning to Ghata. I also didn't like any of the characters that much, especially Heike in fact; I found her influencer personality quite grating, and her hacker abilities unbelievable. She was the biggest Mary Sue, and her TSTL decisions never really taught her a lesson.

I'd recommend the book to someone who would be interested in a decent amount of monstrous smut and having a Big Bad Villain completely defeated by the end, but from a plot and character perspective, I would say that this story is worth skipping. I had read Amira's duet (starting with Serpent's Touch) first, and I think it was a good decision because while there were some spoilers in those books for this series, the spoiler for Amira's books in this epilogue was infinitely worse IMO, as Cinders Elly's review mentioned.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and a lyrical, gripping authorial voice. The world building was vibrant, with the magic coming to life for the reader. The characterization was great! I loved how strong and proactive this heroine was. The saw injustice and was determined to try to do something to fix it. The hero was damaged by his millennia of slavery but still trying to do good when he could. I loved seeing him get love and gentleness at last. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet, hot, and swoony. The heat level in this novel was four chili peppers. This novel had a surprisingly low amount of angst and high stakes throughout, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. The plot was action packed and exciting, so the pacing sped by quickly. This novel used the Partner in Trouble trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all five stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also five stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of five stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a major plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sweet, swoony romance and exciting plots in their fantasy romances. I look forward to reading the spin-off series set in Nerifer. I will buy myself a keeper copy of this romance.

Tangy and sweet, tragic and emotional this concluding book in Madam Tan’s fantastically evil world is a fabulous journey not to be missed. For readers of the series this third book brings all the events preceding it to a dramatic conclusion while introducing Radax and Heike who are perfectly crafted characters surrounded by a storyline that flows and sparkles with the adventure and revelations that ultimately bring its solid storytelling to life while still leaving the door open for new adventures to unravel within its outstanding, imaginative realms in the future.
This has been a wonderfully immersive series to follow and its conclusion does not disappoint with its well written and extensively detailed fast paced narrative tying everything together in another extraordinary feast of Fantasy Romance.

Heike and Radax. How they met, helped each other and fell in love. I loved both characters. Heike is a strong female. Knows what she wants and goes for it. Radax is an alpha. He's different from the other "werewolves" and Madame Tan's favorite, until he's not.
Action packed, mystery, and of course romance. We also get to read about the past couples. (from the first and second books) Loved that they were included and helped to solve the problem of Madame Tan.
I will be rereading this trilogy.
Well written , good flow to the storyline. This is a unique and intriguing story.
Epilogue and HEA were great. And in the future we will be able to read what happens to Amira. Can't wait.

The power of love transcends all!
Oh, the evil that is Madame Tan. She has new plans that will change everything on earth. This is a story that must be read to understand the depths of Madame’s depravity, and the combined efforts of a small group determined to end her reign of terror. Captivating, stunning, with an ever-so-satisfying conclusion!

I was very curious about how this story would continue and the author didn't disappoint. I had always liked Radax and wanted to know more about him. It was great for the characters from the previous 2 books to have predominant roles without distracting from the primary love story. The climax and battle scene kept my attention from beginning to end and I absolutely loved the ending.

Phenomenal Conclusion!

This was an absolutely phenomenal conclusion to this amazing series. It’s filled with action, suspense, magic, and depravity. It had me captivated, enthralled and highly entertained. We are taken on one final emotional journey into Madam Tan’s Menagerie.

I really enjoyed this amazing conclusion to this series.

The third and final book in the Madame Tan’s Freakshow series, if you have been reading this series this is a must read. So much happens. Radax and Heike's story has suspense, drama, danger, we finally find out what Madame Tan is, brack and romance. Zeph and Ivy, Lero and Stella are also in this story as they fight the enemy. Great way to end this series. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

SO glad Radax got his HEA

For some reason I was thinking the stone dragon would be next, but I’m SO glad it was Radax!!! I really can’t wait for Amira’s story too. Loved this series! (My favorite is still that sexy siren Zeph.)

Can the power of Rage be overcome by the power of love? Radax's whole existence is one that depends on Madame Tan but her possession is toxic. Heike's unexpected arrival changes everything. Can he trust that the possibility of freedom is real? Will she believe that there are things beyond her understanding?

Marina Simcoe completes her Madame Tan’s Freakshow series with book 3, the Power of Rage, and it is as intense a read as her first two.

I loved both Call of Water and Madness of the Moon, the first two books in the series, as they were brilliant and colorfully descriptive, which provided the dramatic backdrop that helped Radax and Heike’s love story bloom. With evil following them, and pain part of their very existence, we are able to watch a beautifully landscaped story and love grow beyond the evil that can be found in any world.

Heike gets a once in a lifetime chance to see Madame Tan’s Menagerie and she takes it. This sets into motion life changing events.
Heike and Radax’s love story was fire. They fall in love on the run and never look back.
All of our favorites from the previous books return and chaos ensues.
This book falls right in with the other two by being amazing. I loved it just as much as the others! I’m sad it’s over but they are all so good, I’m ready for many re-reads in my future.

DNF around 75%
I don't know, the book was boring. I was looking forward to reading Radax' story, but it was disappointingly bland. Solid writing, nice enough story, but his POV hardly mattered/happened.
And I could not connect with Heike. As Influencer she was mostly annoying - I mean, starting recording him in secret about something very personal, that was just awful. And then thinking about taking multiple pictures of different views of a crack in a laminated table in VIP lounge, to show faults in a luxurious setting... That is a thing??? Is everything she doing that superfluous? And her grand scheme to thwart Gatha's social media influence (how did she get that btw? She despises any form of payment other than cash for her fair because 'modern electronics sucks' or something like that - never heard about a electronic device in her vicinity, no recordings what so ever - and now she is an overnight internet star?) didn't do nothing, well not at least till that point I stopped reading (just short of the big showdown, I guess)

I am so glad I read Serpents Touch and Serpents Claim before this, would have spoiled too much to enjoy the other books the way I did.

Beautiful ending to the trilogy but I would love to hear more about our little characters in the future ....

I made this comment on my review of Serpent's Claim, but I HATE that the epilogue ruins the other book. It gives it all away. I'm glad I read the Serpent Duology before this book.

I like having epilogues but not at the expense of my enjoyment of another book. I wish the author would remedy this. It actually makes me hesitant to read any further epilogues from her.

Madame Tan's Freakshow series.

Genre: fae, paranormal
#fae #paranormal #mermaids #werewolves #berserkers

Rather than rate each of these books I'll give a general overview of the series.
Marina Simcoe does a great job with creating fantasy and alien worlds with hot alpha males and sassy, strong women. All the books in this series revolve around Mistress Tan's Freakshow. Ghata is an exiled goddess from the Nerifir world, a world parallel to our own. She was a moon goddess and as she became more powerful she became more corrupt. After escaping to the human world she used her influence to bring over her priests, or bracks, to help her trap other fae to create her freakshow. She has ulterior motives though for getting people to her shows.

Each story follows one of the fae that gets captured to be in her freakshow. I would say these stories are slow to medium burn. Simcoe creates attractive alpha men from gargoyles, werewolves, gorgons, and sirens to beserkers (bracks).

Below are my individual ratings with a brief description of each couple.

Power of Rage
Rating: 5   (6/22)
Heat: 7

Radax and Heike's story.
Heike is an internet influencer and Radax is one of Madame Tan's bracks. Bracks are werewolves who were sent to her at 14 years old to become her priests. The closest connection I can make is that they are like Berserkers. Their devotion is only to her, essentially they become her slaves unable to defy any order she gives. Radax is different, he has retained some free will but not enough to escape her. Heike is saved becuase of his ability to resist some of Madame Tan's orders. Heike works with him to find a way to take Madame down. This was my favorite of all the stories in this world. All the other couples make an appearance and this books ties up all the overarching plot lines woven through all the books.

This is the final story in the trilogy and it was absolutely fantastic! Madame Tan is a malevolent goddess from another world who has dark plans for ours. Radax is one of her creations and he's been her slave for lifetimes, but there's something different about him. Heike frees him when she attends Madame's final show in Singapore and he tells his story. Now, Heike must unite the few people from his world who are in ours so that they can defeat Madame Tan once and for all.

I really enjoyed this trilogy and this may have been my favorite book. It was well-written with well-rounded characters who are fully fledged with complicated personalities. The story was deep and the magic of love throughout the story made for an enchanting read. The plot has lots of action as it draws you in and keeps you hooked. While I'm sad to reach the end of the trilogy, this book wrapped things up in an amazing manner and ends things with a wonderful happily ever after. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.

This was my favorite by faar! Since book 1 i said i wanted to read Radax's story and it did not dissapoint. I was really excited when i realized it was his book, and the protagonist? Heike has my whole heart. I think this one is the only one when the insta love actually works really well and doesn't feel as forced as with the other two, which was my main problem with the story.
The action and the whole background of the characters and the lore of the story was just what i needed to make me really like the story. Again, i really liked Ivy and Zeph but Stella and the werewolf didn't do the 180 that i wanted.

Overall, great series and very good finale. Worth the reading of the first 3 to get to this one!

I love how the books in this series manage to be independent yet tied together. This conclusion was so well done. Radax has been such an intriguing character but we just got little bits here and there. I was so excited to see his story and how everything pulled together. It felt like Radax and Heike got their love story and their focus but we were also able to see the characters we have already fallen in love with. And seeing everyone together and Madam Tan's madness was just a wonderful conclusion.

Wonderful end to the series. This book tied up the loose ends from all the other books in the series. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars was that I felt it could have been longer. The beginning of the book was excellent and built one up to the finale. However, after the good build up and planning, the final battle all seemed very convenient and simplified in the success and ending. I felt that it somehow missed the development and depth of writing that I had started to expect from this author and it was rather hurried.

Just amazing well rounded book. everything comes together and there is a good end in this Trilogy. I loved that Radax got this attention in the book. Well written and everything seems to come together without issues.

Heidi is a social media influencer. When she hears of this mysterious VIP show of Madame Tan's menagerie she decides to go there to learn more and find a way to make some views while she is at it. What she meets there is definitely not what she expected and when she meets Radax her world is upside down for sure.

This book was so needed

I'm so glad we finally got to read Radax's book! His story was the one I really hoped to have a happy ending, and of course we got one, but not until a whole lot of drama and heartache. My goodness he had it rough! His story was absolutely brutal! I'm so happy for him and Heike. Although I knew something was going to happen with Ghatta from reading one of Amiras books, I'm still overjoyed with that ending.
