The first installment in the shadow wing series, Operation Shiva is a 58 pages, short read that hovers around the protagonist Aditya Kumar and Shadow Wings. He is on a mission to protect India from the wreck of civil war and will he be able to accomplish the mission?

Its my first time reading a military based thriller and loved the plot a lot. Aditya is an amazing character and loved the way author presented him. I can't wait to see the development of the characters in the next installments. Do grab the copy and give it a go if you are a lover of thrillers or someone who love to start reading thrillers, this one is a good choice for you. Overall I loved the read.

The book starts with the bloody massacare of a family, left with just three surviours. It then shifts to Indian Embassy in Brussels where two kids want to share something important which can help in the survival of India, but only with Lt. Col Aditya Kumar.....Read the Book to know more.

Operation Shiva is the first book in a series. (No, it's not mythology, it's a detective story) Where the Shadow Wing tries to decipher the sinister plans and save the Country.

In this book we majorly follow Aditya Kumar with some side characters. This being the first book in a series we don't get much attached to the characters and mainly don't feel about them.

But what keeps us moving is the intriguing plot and the twists in between. This is a very short book (nearly 60 pages). Intelligently written with cool detectives to follow.

I had a few problems with it.. Basically with the Intelligence department, where they fail to decode some generic things which anyone could have decoded. Also Calling a person just coz two boys asked for him was not something that I can easily digest.

Apart from these issues the book was really well done and I flew through it. Would surely recommend this to all and will also look forward to read the upcoming books in the series.

Enjoy Reading !

Two boys were standing at the gate of Indian Embassy, Brussels. They returned each time, the security shooed them away. Finally, they were called in. The elder boy said that they have a message for Lt. Colonel Aditya Kumar.

Lt. Colonel Aditya Kumar had been working with Military Intelligence for ten years before becoming part of a special unit called ‘Shadow Wing’ under the Indian Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).

The message from the boys regarding Asif and a near fatal encounter with a seer, a diary with a step-by-step plan stretching over years to start a civil war in India and Aditya's quest to stop the plan from taking effect is Operation Shiva.

Operation Shiva is the first book in the Shadow Wing Series. The title is apt. The Shadow Wing called it “Operation Shiva”, as the mission needed three eyes. Two for things they could see and control, and the third one for things beyond their comprehension. They also used a three-pronged approach to tackle it.

The book is fast paced, full of action and suspense. It is thoroughly engaging and enjoyable. A good book to read if you are looking for something entertaining to read that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Operation Shiva: Shadow Wing #1 by Aparna Sinha is a short thriller action but enthralling. It is impactful enough for the readers to find themselves lost in the plot throughout the novel. The novel is about national security which is always of great importance. The author is skilful enough to weave an interesting and master plot that is substantial to give goosebumps as to what will happen next.

The protagonist Lt. Colonel Aditya Kumar played an arresting part and officially but efficiently put an end to a certain plan which was made against the country as national security always has a prominent role and thus the novel proved it again. A few loose ends didn't affect much of the book.

Handful but impressive characters. The narration is crisp and fast-paced as it is much required in a thriller otherwise it loses charm. But the author smartly created suspense throughout the pages.
The cover is designed aptly.

Out and out written with powerful grace.
I recommend it to all thriller lovers.

Operation Shiva: Shadow Wing #1 by author Aparna Sinha is a gripping fast paced fiction.

Plot is about saving India by protagonist Lt.Colonel Aditya Kumar working for DIA presently. So know more about him, his work culture/ dedication, what's conspiracy to bring down India, who are conspirators and their motives, who others are working with protagonist as his team, who will succeed and how, get answers to before and more by reading the plot.

Plot has lot of suspense and thrill which keeps readers glued with book till the end, narration is very crisp, engrossing and entertaining, characters and incidents are relatable, language is easy. Only demerit is plot has loose ends don't know whether it is because of being short read or because book is a part of series, but above in no way affects the fun of reading. Would definitely read subsequent books of the series. It is a real short read hardly takes less than a hour to finish.

Enjoyed every bit of plot and would recommend to all spy fiction lovers.

On a hectic working day, at Indian Embassy at Brussels, Belgium, gate stood two boys pleading with the security to let them in. But neither of the securities let them in. After a long time, their helplessness and calmness to wait got attention of higher people inside Embassy. After a thorough check, they were called inside. But boys are only interested to talk to Lt. Colonel Aditya Kumar Rathod from New Delhi. There is something in them which made to fly from India to Belgium. There is something with them on which India's future relies on.

Who are those boys? What information do they have to convey with Aditya? How it is going to affect India?

📜BOOK REVIEW📜

🔍So basically, the storyline revolves around two major personalities, one being Lt. Colonel Aditya Kumar Rathod who worked with the military intelligence and was also a dominant character of the special unit called “SHADOW WING”. The other major persona of this story is Asif Al-Ansayari, who was a chief lobbyist between ISI and other major terrorist organisations across the globe.

🔍The story begins when Sunita Yadav, a secretary in the Indian Embassy at Brussels saw two boys standing at the gate since morning without any movement, pleading for help. They resisted talking to anyone except for Lt. Colonel Aditya Kumar Rathod. Aditya had to travel from Delhi to Belgium urgently to meet and talk to boys as they might have some valuable piece of information based on political and religious grounds. What was that he aquatinted on conversing with the boys? What expedition did that lead them into? And how is it connected with Asif?

📄Personal experience📄

🌾I appreciate the way she(author) had deliberately described each and revery incident that occurred in this book. While reading this book you will go through a soul-stirring adventure with a variety of twists in between, which will surely blow up your mind. It’ll really be tough to put the book down once you start reading it. I personally loved this book throughout. I was astonished on reading  such an action-packed story in just 58 pages. Both the writing style and the cover are incredible🌾

‼️So don’t get lost in thoughts, this is definitely a 5 star read and I strongly recommend this to all the fellow bookstagrammers‼️

“India may be divided, but it stayed together so long, just because there are more people to share love than those who hate. People who rise above petty politics and put the welfare of humanity over small materialistic gains.”

Working at Indian embassy in Belgium was going as usual until when Sunita Yadav saw two boys standing at the gate and got concerned. The boys had been static from the entrance since morning. They were pleading with the security and whosoever was coming inside to let them in. After a thorough check, they were brought in a conference room; asked about what they wanted, the elder boy replied that they would talk only to Lt. Colonel Aditya Kumar Rathod. Aditya worked with Military Intelligence and was a part of special unit called ‘Shadow Wing’ under DIA. He was called to Belgium from New Delhi, for as the boys might have had informations and enigma of secrets which could change what India might open on to, based on political and religious grounds. Sets foot in a subjects viz. Asif, Nafisa, Divya, etc. which appends mystery and escapade. Who were these boys? What was the role of Aditya through out? What confrontation India did India hold on?

Operation Shiva is the first book of Shadow Wing Series. The volume talks on oodles of Indian politics, terrors and terrorists. India is a diverse country until there blows in “someone” who would as a last resort exploits and ushers riots within religions, specifically Hindu and Muslims. But when all is said and done, we’re meant to coalesce; and then zilch can smash India’s diversity. The book is solely based on patriotism, bravery, destruction and mystery of course. I was intrigued hatched by the plot, having a soft spot for the abstract and it’s notion. The cover itself tells a lot what the book is about. Don’t miss it!!

Awaited the next one in this series.

"war is not defined by class, only hate, only revenge."

In 'Operation Shiva : Shadow Wing #1' by Aparna Sinha, a brotherhood surfaces up after a prolonged period of almost seven decades, hatching a strategy to destroy India from within- to strike up communal riots and break the unity and diversity of the vast nation. Lt. Col. Aditya Singh Rathore, of the Shadow Wing and the wing itself takes up the reigns to stop the pre-planned conspiracy.

The enemy follows a pre-determined order of events that are already scripted in a book and it's time for the last event to strike. Will the Shadow Wing be able to decipher the codes that lay on their way? Will they be able to save India from it's imminent doom? In a country as vast as India, the people can be manipulated owing to their volatile nature, but could the rising mortal threats be ceased and the orchestrators captivated? It leaves the readers to wonder whether their love for their country and intelligence without parity shall be able to identify the last event that is about to mark the death of their beloved nation.

I liked the book extremely owing to its wonderful language and spellbound content that keeps the readers hooked. The beautiful setting which carries you to the spot and inexplicable narration in such a short span will keep your breath paused and eyes fixated on the pages, where the story takes place in two different times, encapsulating two different behavioral patterns of the Indian embassy and the ones outraging it. It's highly recommended for all thriller-lovers and the way it highlights the love for one's country despite the petty differences, is truly fascinating.

I totally love reading thrillers and hence I decided to pick this book up. The title is quite intriguing and I was drawn to the book instantly. The cover is beautifully designed and it lured me to dive deeper into the book.
The story starts off with a brutal murder scene. For decades, some people developed a master plan that would destroy and crumble India from within. All the events were taking place in India step by step. Now it's upto Aditya Kumar and the Shadow Wing to decode the plan and stop any further damage to the country. Will they be able to take control before the ultimate apocalypse hits the country? Read on to find out.
The suspense element is well developed and the unexpected twists and turns kept me glued to the story till the end. The plot, though not extraordinary, is intricately woven and doesn't have any loopholes. The narration is absolutely wonderful, in fact, that is what is the main reason I stayed hooked on to the book till the end. The story begins as a fast paced one but in the middle it gets really slow, though it regains pace towards the end. This is a short read and the author has left no scope for one to experience monotony while reading. The language is simple and lucid.
Overall it's an amazing thrilling suspenseful story! I've enjoyed it a lot and I'm looking forward to read the upcoming books in the series.

Operation Shiva: Shadow Wing #1 is a story that resonates with our nation's past and present. India is a vast country with 1.3 billion people belongs different cast, culture and language. Still, our leaders managed to instil a sense of unity and evoked patriotism within us, which made the country as it is today. But what will happen if someone is deliberately plotting against this? If they were successful it will push India to a Civil War like condition and definitely, it will be the end of our unity. Operation Shiva explores this possibility through a series of events involving Lt. Colonel Aditya Kumar Rathod and terrorist organization lobbyist Asif. This is a game for Asif, but not for Aditya. His race is against time to prevent the mishap before it is too late. But it is not easy to decode the clues and put the pieces together.

The story is narrated beautifully. The author kept the suspense alive from the beginning itself. The race only ends on the last page. It gave a feeling of the chase while the clock is ticking. Also, the author gave some interesting perspective about the media and politicians and how they are manipulating events in India.

Overall, it was a very good read.

"Go back to the roots. Drive them out from wherever they drove you out"
.
The book is a take on current situations prevailing in Indian society. Almost all the incidents are inspired by happenings around us. The protests, religious hatred, political conspiracies and India on the brink of civil war, which is a little far fetched but not unbelievable.

Blurb- The book is about Aditya Kumar who works with Shadow wings and tries to stop an attack on Indian democracy. For seven decades, some men carefully drafted a plan and orchestrated every event in India. The objective was to break India from within. The plan is already in its final stage, and all it needs is a catalyst – an event that would bring a civil war-like situation in the country.
Read on to experience this thrilling battle with terrorists, time and luck.
.
The book is very interesting if you keep an eye on the news you will be able to relate the book to real-life incidents. It is very well written with an amazing set of incidents and events. It is a short read but very well developed and intriguing. Overall, it is a good read.

The author has done a great job in creating different characters and described them properly for the short story. Divya, Shivshankar and many other blended into the story effortlessly. The plot was really good and the story kept me engaging throughout it.

The plot and storyline was good and even if you are beginners in a military/spy kind of mystery thriller. It was a fast paced storyline loaded with various mysteries. The literary work as present here is one that is a short read but mere absence of pages is sufficient to affect the readability of the same is something that would be briefly delineated here. Delving further into the same, the storyline of the book is quite well concerned with acts that would hamper in an irreparable fashion the nation’s interests. Delving further, the conspiracy which has been hatched for the last 70 years with sheer diligence and the sole objective of the same was to ensure to break the nation from within. The scheme and the plot is almost at its final stretch and the duty lies upon the shoulders of the character named Aditya kumar and the shadow wing and as the clock runs out the stress surges.

It is worth noting that the book is just a 58 page read but the same is sufficient enough to have the readers gripped till the very end as despite being a short read the book is quite replete with all the aspects that would have us consider it as a good read.

Operation Shiva is the first of the series called Shadow Wing that revolves around a diplomatic issue regarding India and it's defence. Aditya and others in the department finds clues that direct towards a dreadful future of the nation and strives to decode all of it.

Although it's a very short book, the plot is a compact assembly of various elements that make it an interesting thriller. There are very little digressions and that makes the storyline a fast-paced series of sensational events. As Indian Officer Aditya races against a well thought out planned civil disobedience, his every step is vital in the unfolding of the country's destiny. Looking forward to the sequel to see how the characters develop and how the plot progresses. Will Aditya be able to terminate the meticulously planned conspiracy or will he too be a victim of the consequences? Flip through the pages of this book for a short, thrilling read.

Even with the rich culture and history signifying unity in diversity, India is all set to witness the biggest civil war, with the various events leading to it being pre-planned decades ago.
With the climax nearing the end in a very short period, will Lt. Colonel Aditya Kumar and Shadow Wing be able to save India from this very doom?
To get your answers, check out the book.

Fast-paced and captivating is how I would like to describe this book. Being a short read of 58 pages, this book is engaging enough to keep you turning the pages. Easy language and a handful of core characters make it easier to comprehend and follow the story.

I really liked how the author has interconnected all the different incidents and put forward a dynamic picture, leaving the readers at a cliffhanger to keep them looking forward to the next parts. Thriller lovers can surely check out this book for a quick read.

"Operation Shiva" is a political detective series where Aditya is trying his best to crash down the strategy which was planned since decades in order to protect India from breaking down from within.
The book starts with the killing in Belgium & with the code "Bird needs new nest" brings the lead characters into the story.
There are some points which are yet to be answeres and since it's a series, not revealing everything is justified.

The diary and whatever written in it was too curious to read.
Also quoting the Verses of the Quran was quite creative.
I felt lack of development in Aditya's personality.
The search for Nafisa and it's realization was interesting.
The story starts very well and in the middle looses the pace yet it again takes the grip and at the end it was hard to put down.
This book can be the perfect read for readers who love political thrillers.

Operation Shiva: Shadow Wing #1

by Aparna Sinha

The book is a fast paced thriller with unique characterisation and attributes of mystery and suspense. The opening of the book in itself portrays the paramount of urges one could have to read it page after page.

The book has a decent storytelling format and elements of mysterious curiosity which makes it gripping and engaging. The plot is fast paced and so is its narration. ⁣

Apart from enhancement of editorial aspects and choice of expressions, the book is a decent read and the reader would not regret to wait till the end to finish it up. The aftereffect is quite neutral because the storyline is simple and quite predictive. Nonetheless, irrespective of the things mentioned, the author has done a wonderful job to let the readers experience thrill and suspense through the eyes of the protagonist. ⁣

1.3 billion people, divided by religion, caste, creed, language, color and so on, but are united by a name 'Indians'. When a carefully drafted plan intending to break India apart, giving rise to a civil war, is all set to enter its final stage, the Shadow Wing under the leadership of Aditya Kumar have sworn to protect the nation. But can they decode all the events before it's too late?

This is the first book of the quickie series 'Shadow Wings'. This short read of 60 pages but gives you a great thrilling experience. Not just that, it is very fast paced and is nowhere predictable. Some characters are under developed, but that's the format as it is a series. Hope the loose ends will get tied up as the plot develops further in the future books.

In short, you can't put this book away without finishing it and I'm definitely gonna wait for the next parts.

"Operation Shiva" is the first book of a 5 part series. This book is a thrilling story of a planned insurgency induced by foreign elements into India for a chance at revenge fuelled by religious motives. Though the theme is a pretty common one, the plot of the story is very well written and beautifully planned out. The language used in the book is easy yet polished, which makes for a comfortable read. The elements of thrill and suspense have been incorporated at the right places and have not been overused, which can be exhausting. Overall, I would definitely recommend readers to check out this series.

One thing I would like to point out is that the author has misused the term Bi-Sexual in place of Transgender in the book, and I would advice them to educate themselves about the terms before using them in publications.

A good attempt at a military thriller. It is a very short book. So there is not a lot to ne expected. In case you want something to just pass the time reading and want to finish in one sitting, it is fine. But if you are looking for something more serious and well written, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

There is the story that feels a little rushed and there are the characters that are underdeveloped. This is a 'quickie read' as per the author but that is no real excuse for it. Hope it gets fixed in the further installments. A book shouldn't just be written for the sake of writing something but with the audience in mind.

Overall, I did not dislike the book and a 3-star rating is the best I would say I can give it.

A really fast paced novela, about the Indian intelligence agencies and their connection and contacts overseas, but what happens when an allie becomes a defective and dead? This is the story focused around an Indian officer Aditya Kumar and what he lands himself into a decade worth of plans to get India to it’s feet and cause a conspiracy like never before.

How does the the research wing of India and it’s head along with Aditya work to unmask the mystery and catch the culprit before any harm comes or will they just be bystanders while the worst nightmare comes to play?

This is a perfect coffee time read as it is short, gripping and entertaining.

As an ardent fan of military-thrillers, I would give this story a 5⭐️ rating .

The narration is on point and there isn’t any unnecessary dragging in the storyline. Inspite of under developed characters (since it’s a short read),one could easily get hold of the characterisation due to the brilliant dialogue presentation.

A lot of research must have been done by the author as it seems obvious with the facts related to India’s internal security and defence.Being an UPSC aspirant, I found it really fascinating.

I loved the slight fondness shown between Aditya and Divya and hope that it would turn out really well in the upcoming parts of the series.

Overall a short, intriguing read 👍

Eagerly waiting for the next part to release !

Best wishes to the author!
