Megan
It was a quiet night, and I let my dog out to go potty.
Sasha was a good dog, she helped me get through a big loss in my life.
I called for her to come back inside, but she was nowhere to be seen.
Panic began to set in as I realized she got out through a hole in my fence.
I went back inside, ready to call the pound, when I heard a knock on my door.
To my relief, Sasha was brought back to my house.
To my surprise, it was a very hot guy that saved her.

Returning Sasha to Megan was only the right thing to do.
It started as a good deed, but as soon as I got a glimpse of Megan, I knew I needed more.
She offered to pay me a reward, but I declined the cash. Instead, I asked her to dinner.
Things were going great between us, until the Army Major and Colonel approached our table.
They were my superiors, so I saluted them.
That’s when Megan took off.
I tried to contact her, but she ignored me. I didn’t understand what I did wrong.
She was trying to ghost me, but I wasn’t going to give up that easily.

Afraid of the Future . . .
Derek meets the perfect woman for him when he finds and returns her dog. He invites her to dinner since both seem very attracted to each other. All is going well until two army officers come up and they salute. Megan turns and runs, then ignores his calls. What happened? Why won’t she speak to him? Will he drop it and leave her alone, or pursue her until she at least tells him what happened? Will she give Derek another chance?
When Megan asked Derek, “How can you prove to me that you won’t…leave me,” I wished he had told her he can’t prove it because life does not give us guarantees. If you live in fear of what “could” happen, you are not living. He told her he worked in communications and not on the front lines. That’s all the guarantee he can promise. Walking across the street, either of them could be killed. Or in a car accident. There are just no absolute guarantees in life. We don’t get to know the future. We live in expectation of having the best life we can, valuing each other and being the best person we can be to others. Fear will never leave if you let it decide your future. Time goes by quickly enough – I hope she won’t waste hers worrying about what she can’t control.

Derek meets his ideal girlfriend when he returns her dog to her. It all starts when Derek is driving around and he notices a dog running loose on the streets. He gets the dog to come to him so he can read the id tags. Then he returns the dog to her owner and meets the girl of his dreams. Conflict between them ensues, as it always does when there's an instant connection between two strangers. This story turns into a sweet romance and ends with a "happily ever after." Great, quick read romance. It really pulls on the heart strings!

When Megan's dog was brought home by a handsome stranger, she would have been crazy not to accept his dinner invite. While out Derek's commander walked up to the table, startling Megan and forcing her to revisit the past. When Megan left, Derek was lost on what just happen, wanting to give her space, but not wanting to give up on her.
I love how Derek is patient and caring with Megan's feeling, although she was having a difficult time with him being in a military she was able to come around and at least talk to him about her feeling.
Another sweet romance.

Here comes book seven in the Military Men of Valor series. This one has some heartbreak for her. What happens when you meet the man of your dreams and you are his, but only to have him be working for your worst nightmare? These two have an instant connection for sure, but her past has just come to haunt her in a way she was trying to get over. With that happening, is he able to figure out what happened to make her just poof on him? Does he give up or keep trying so he can have his HEA with her?

This is book seven in this Military Men of Valor. This is the story of Derek and Megan and their journey to their happily ever after. Megan dog goes missing and is returned by Derek. There is a connection between them and they go out for dinner. When she sees him salute his superiors she panics and runs. Megan lost her brother in the military and she can't do that again, or can she? Another great read in this series. Looking forward to read more.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Derek meets Megan when he returns her dog after it runs away. They hit is off until Megan learns he's in the military. However after talking to her mother and coming to terms with the loss of her brother in service, she gives Derek a chance and neither regret it.

An exciting book seven in the Military Men of Valor series! It is engaging, relatable, funny, witty, and well written with drama, angst, and more. The characters are likeable with instant chemistry between them. Definitely recommended!

I really enjoyed this book! The storyline was well developed, the characters were complex and well developed and the story world was detailed. The writing drew me in and I felt immersed in the story! I always look forward to more books by this author and would recommend this book!
