Elise Edmonds is a young adult fantasy writer from the UK. Reading and writing have always been her doorways into another world—a way to escape and spend time walking with wizards, flying with fairies, and dealing with dragons.

As a lifelong avid fantasy reader, her writing is influenced by Diana Wynne Jones, J K Rowling, Angie Sage, C S Lewis, and Enid Blyton. Any books with the power to draw someone into another world fascinate her, and she's tried to capture this feeling in her own novels.

She lives in a quiet South Gloucestershire village as a finance professional by day, and in her spare time she pursues writing as a creative outlet, to put the magic back into everyday life. When not writing, Elise enjoys going to Zumba classes, wildlife gardening, and playing with her two beautiful cats.

What can I say? I LOVED every word of this book. It was a little less hesitant to get the action started than Where Carpets Fly and the stakes were immensely higher!
It was fun to have the extra POV's, I started out not liking Kara much(possibly because I have too often felt as trapped and mentally spent as she did) but I must say by the end I loved her as much as Elina, despite her penchant for recklessness. Simeon also grew on me although I already liked his character, I enjoyed following him on his journey and watching him grow.
Elina is still my favourite. She's clever and tries her best to always do the right thing. She still messes up and gets a little teenagery sometimes but that's exactly what you should expect from a fifteen-year-old. Her relationship with Janni and the struggles they faced were really well handled. I wouldn't mind a POV from Janni, mostly because he's funny and chill as anything(or at least pretends to be when he's scared!).

Overall a really strong sequel and I can't wait to follow Elina and co. on their next adventures.
