İlk cilt başı ve sonuyla bir macerayı anlatmıştı bize. Bu cilt de yeni bir maceraya götürüyor bizi hem de tam olarak kaldığı yerden ve kusursuza yakın bir geçişle. Çizimler yine harika. Özellikle dövüş sahnelerinin netliği bence takdire şayan. Serinin genel tonu bence seriyi özel kılan şeylerden biri. Komedi hiç eksik kalmıyor ama asla da baymıyor ve belki de en önemlisi tempoyu öldürmüyor. İlk ciltteki bazı şakalardan rahatsız olanlar bu ciltte o kadar rahatsızlık yaşamayacaktır.
Goku artık Usta Roşi'nin çağrısı üzerine dövüş sanatları eğitimi almak için onun yanına gidecektir. Bu eğitim boyunca kendisine hem rakip hem de arkadaş olacak Kuririn de eşlik edecektir. Bu ikilinin çocukça neşeleri ve tatlı çekişmeleri her seferinde güldürmeyi başarıyor. Zorlu eğitimden sonra onları Tenkaiçi Budokai adlı dünyanın dört bir yanından sadece en iyi dövüşçülerin katılabildiği dövüş turnuvası bekliyor. Bu turnuvada ilk ciltten hatırlayacağımız karakterleri de görüyoruz. Tabi turnuvadaki tek sürpriz bu değil.
Sanırım Goku kadar tatlılığına doyamadığım bir başka manga karakteri olamayacak. Hele ki bu ciltte bol bol gördüğümüz farklı kıyafetlerin hepsi mi yakışır ve de tatlı durur. Arkadaşı Kuririn'in de parlak kafasına rağmen çok tatlı olabildiğini söylemeden edemeyeceğim.

Sammelband 1 war besser...
Hier im neuen Sammelband 2 macht die Dragon Ball-Geschichte eine kleine Kurve: Es geht im gesamten Buch nicht mehr um die Drachenkugeln, sondern um ein Kampfsport-Turnier, bei dem Son-Goku und seine Freunde teilnehmen.
Während die Geschichte selbst immer noch sehr unterhaltsam und durchaus witzig ist, und auch die Zeichnungen dieselbe Qualität aufweisen wie in Band 1, so fehlt mir hier doch das, was Band 1 für mich so gelungen machte: Die Anspielungen, Andeutungen und Hinweise auf die klassische chinesische Literatur, die Band 1 eine zweite Schicht gab und dadurch hervorhob. Auch hier sind Verweise drin, hauptsächlich diesesmal aber aus der Filmwelt - und leider sind sie hier nicht so elegant eingewoben, sondern eher plump aufgesetzt.
Ich gebe hier 4 Sterne aus Sympathie, weil ich mich gut unterhalten fühlte beim Lesen (vielleicht wären 3 Sterne auch OK gewesen), hoffe aber schon, dass der dritte Sammelband wieder in die Spur des ersten zurückfindet.
