They say a vampire’s bite overwhelms the senses, filling the bitten person with so much pleasure they can’t help but explode.
Cal Miller’s just a human trying to get through grad school. He doesn’t need the distraction of the gorgeous vampire, Brendan Harris, or his adorable puppy.
Seriously, he doesn’t. Even if the vamp’s blue eyes are so intense they’re hypnotic.
There’s something about Brendan’s neat clothes, distaste for humans, and lingering gaze that sucks Cal in every single time though.
The vampire’s trouble. Cal knows it.
So why can’t he stop thinking about getting Brendan to bite him?
Kiki Clark can turn a 33 page novella into something I need a full novel of. There's just something about her writing that works for me. Cal and Brendan were so cute and I wish there was more here. That's my only real big complaint.
BITE ME is a quick read but a lot fun! Brendan is a vampire who doesn't like or trust humans after a prior relationship but he finds he can't resist his new human dog walker, Cal.
I love paranormal romances that feature supernatural beings living openly with humans so while we don't get much on world building, I was still intrigued by what was there.
Brendan and Cal have great chemistry and some serious insta-lust. This is really just a teaser for the start of their relationship but I loved seeing Brendan reach out for more and Cal's determination to show Brendan that Cal is nothing like his ex.
I always struggle rating stories this short. I mean I liked it well enough, but with only 33 pages there really wasn't room for more than just "like". A fun little romp to pass the time
This was absolutely wonderful and I was amazed that something really nice and deep came out of this short story.
A sad vampire and a cute young human get to know each other and have sexytimes, but it was not enough. I need a full story about how these two go on to have a HEA.
A very cute story about a sad vampire and his dog-walker. The sex scene was hot. Not much else to say considering the very short length (only 33 pages!). I want a whole novel in this world where vampires live openly with humans. This reminds me I should probably try Kiki Clark's shifters stuff...
This was a cute PNR short about a vampire and his human dog-walker. There is not tons to say just because it is so short, but the pacing was well done considering the lack of pages and felt believable. Overall, cute, and a hot sex scene.
Have you ever read a short story that felt more like a snippet than a story? That it was incomplete? R.J. Scott wrote one (How Much For the Whole Night? (which she's currently expanding)), and now, this.
I liked what there was, but there wasn't enough. There wasn't enough to feel like a complete story, so I hope Clark does as Scott did, and decides to complete it, at some point.
A very good short story about Cal Miller, making spare money by walking dogs; and Brendan Harris, one of his clients. But Brendan is a vampire, and slowly, but surely, becoming attracted to Cal. Nice relationship build in a small number of pages :)
This was so so. I’ve read other works by Ms. Clark so I know she can write good stories. However. this was just way too short to develop the characters and understand the paranormal world in which they exist.
