Dark Secrets Trilogy Dark Secrets Resurgence ★ Dark Secrets Unveiled ★ Dark Secrets Absolved
Dark Secrets Resurgence On a sabbatical from his Stanford teaching position, Professor David Levinson finally has time to write the sci-fi novel he’s been thinking about for years. The phenomena of past life memories and near-death experiences are too controversial to include in his formal psychiatric research, while fiction is the perfect outlet for his esoteric ideas. Hoping that a change of pace will provide the inspiration he needs, David accepts a friend’s invitation to an old Scottish castle. Except, what he finds there is more fantastical than his most outlandish theories. The castle is home to a clan of immortals, their leader is a stunning demigoddess, and even more shockingly, it might be precisely where he belongs.
Dark Secrets Unveiled When Professor David Levinson accepts a friend’s invitation to an old Scottish castle, what he finds there is more fantastical than his most outlandish theories. The castle is home to a clan of immortals, their leader is a stunning demigoddess, and even more shockingly, it could be precisely where he belongs. Except, the clan founder is hiding a secret that might cast a dark shadow on David’s relationship with her daughter. Nevertheless, when offered a chance at immortality, he agrees to undergo the dangerous induction process. Will David survive his transition into immortality? And if he does, will his relationship with Sari survive the unveiling of her mother’s secret?
Dark Secrets Absolved Absolution. David had given and received it. The few short hours since he’d emerged from the coma had felt incredible. He’d finally been free of the guilt and pain, and for the first time since Jonah’s death, he had felt truly happy and optimistic about the future. He’d survived the transition into immortality, had been accepted into the clan, and was about to marry the most wonderful woman on the face of the planet, his true love mate, his salvation, his everything. What could have possibly gone wrong?Just about everything.
'Dark Secrets trilogy' tells the story of Sari and David.
Book 44- Dark Secrets Resurgence- This introduction is rather slow moving and lacks excitement. I found it harder to get through than previous books in the series. Book 45- Dark Secrets Unveiled- In terms of David's story, this book is amazing. I find myself plowing through the pages, expectantly. Prediction: Jonah will be Khiann in his next cycle. The negative though: Stella/Richard and Eleanor. I have zero interest in any of them and wish they would just go away (Stella to some hippy island, Richard to the human world, and Eleanor to hell).
It is not necessary to recount the same story multiple times to different characters. Only one or two lines...'and that is how dormants transition' or the like. I have included this in previous reviews, but there is too much history and back story repeated. Any one who has made it this far into the series does not need these reminders.
I am not a fan of Lisa. She behaves like a brat. In terms of place of living and school, you go and do as you parents say. And "You are the rock, the pillar of strength I can hold onto to keep from drifting away" said no 15 year old ever.
While I appreciate the idea of 'Perfect Match' I hate the actual experience, at least that between Richard and Stella. It is like they wrote their own movie script and cast themselves...it is not at all what I expected and it's horrible, very weird concept. And too detailed for a virtual game.
In Dark Secrets Kalugal tries his hand at matchmaking by introducing a professor he knows to Sari. There are unexpected consequences when he and the goddess meet and discover a shared past life. The other secret story line belongs to Stella. Richard is still trying to transition and is worried about losing his place in the village. A new pregnancy is announced. Eleanor is still trying to change and earn some trust.
An enjoyable story. Some of the parts were repetitive which took away from the story. But the characters always manage to emerge strong and they kept me turning pages.
I have read the series from Book One (Dark Stranger) through book 46! This is the best paranormal romance series I have ever read. Even better than the Shade series by B. Forrest! I read them all since the beginning of the summer till Oct 27 2021
