I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read, fast paced and action packed. The characters were well developed and interesting. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book.
A fast read with a plot that pulled you in and characters who made you feel like you wanted to know more. David is a talented scribe who is just getting started but writes like a seasoned pro. Get the Tipping Point
I enjoyed this tale of retribution. It’s well crafted & filled with heart. It has twists & intrigue, action & deceit. One cannot help but like the main protagonist, Noah Hunter. A really good story.
⭐️ - awful, probably DNF ⭐️⭐️- didn’t like but not terrible, actually finished it ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - it was ok, passed the time ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - good story, good writing, entertaining, just not great ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - great, could not put it down, excellent writing and story
Would help if the author spent some money on a qualified editor to clean up the text. Note: it’s Ronald Reagan airport, NOT Ronald Regan. Just one example of the lack of attention to details. However, the story passed the time and was entertaining.
Despite the fact that « police stories » aren't my cup of tea, it was an enjoyable read, as the author sure knows how to write a good suspense. I choose it « by error », as the previous series I read from him was a time-travel one, so I thought it was going to be a sci-fi or an horror story. I was wrong, but despite the fact that I usually tend to stay away from this genre for the past 20 years (read too much similar stories back in the day), I got hooked and now I'll be reading book 2.
It was a recommended read from Amazon, a police series. A lot of deaths, one particularly gruesome. Noah is investigating and it quickly becomes complicated and personal.
A tale of retribution by his fiancee Megan for the death of her father with ties to the Mafia in Chicago which is all news to Noah. He ends up being hunted by a crooked FBI agent but does turn the tables in the end.
I really enjoyed this book. I happened upon a promotion on Amazon for this book. I typically am into spy thrillers but this book was a very good read and was action packed. I managed to read the book in less than 24 hours and would highly recommend it to others who like this genre.
Somewhat pretty good read. A bit long at 390 + pages Kindle. Also the spelling of Rachel kept changing throughout. (Rachel- Rachal). I felt the conclusion could have been tighter. I'll read second book in this series soon. Check it out.
Impressive for a first novel! Not my usual genre however, I was pleasantly surprised by the complexity of the storyline, and found the book to be an entertaining read.
The first Noah Hunter book takes off as any other ordinary police/crime novel, and then takes a hard left turn into chaos. Darling has done a fantastic job of painting a landscape within an environment that allows Hunter to thrive and become more than just a character. You can tell as you read this story, through the twists and suspense, that this character and universe is only going to grow even stronger. This is a great debut novel, and one I was thankful to read. If you like crime dramas, and police intensive investigations, this is a great book to add to your collection. Oh, and keep tabs on David Darling. His second book is outstanding (I got an early read...) and his plans for the future of Noah Hunter are fantastic as well. I hear Netflix calling for a series eventually...
• Fast paced from the start, this crime drama is about a Chicago mafia boss and his goons crossing paths with a police sergeant in a small Wyoming town and the firestorm that brews during their confrontation. It’s a written-well, quickly paced tale. At times, I could not put it down, even knowing I had to be up in four hours for a meeting at which I was presenting! That’s a strong testament to how engrossed I was with this thriller. With many twists and turns, Mr. Darling keeps you guessing how the story is going to end right up until the last chapter.
• I very much like how the author develops his characters into living, breathing people you’d swear you could meet in real life. They are very visceral and wonderfully done.
• The plot twist mid-book was not completely unexpected, but it is written well and is engaging. The subsequent fallout from these events forces some dire circumstances upon the characters in the latter half of the book, and you’ll not want to put it down until you’re at the end. It’s all great stuff! I found myself cheering for the hero and cursing the villains. This was a fun & entertaining thriller!
