Action-filled second chance…
Hold on to your seats as this ride is a wild one! Nic and Cami had parted ways years ago. Their forever hadn’t lasted long. When Nic and his team were sent on a dangerous rescue mission the last thing on his mind was the woman he’d lost. It wasn’t the time to rehash old wounds. Making it out alive was the first and only thing on the list….
This author knows how to write military romantic suspense and this series has everything I want in a good read. Strong, though fallible, main characters and friends and family ready to step up and provide all the support they could want or need. And they both needed it. Cami was left with deep wounds, inside and out, but Nic was there every step of the way.

4 1/2 Star Review.....
Her Faithful Protector by Caitlyn O’Leary is the sixth book in the Night Storm series of which Nic Hale is the youngest member. SEAL novels have definitely been my passion of late, and for this reason I put off reading Her Faithful Protector as I had just finished three different SEAL authors books back-to-back. I should have known better.
Let me start by saying you must set aside uninterrupted reading time when you start this story as the plot, characters and author delivery, DEMAND your undivided attention from the very first chapter and keep you thoroughly engrossed till the last page is turned. But if light and fluffy is what you want, then this may not be the book for you as everything within these pages is confronting and gut-wrenching to the max!
Her Faithful Protector is certainly a story of heroics and Alpha personas rising to the occasion to rescue those unable to save or protect themselves, but it is also a story of a love never forgotten and the hope that surfaces in the face of unimaginable danger and terror. Ms O’Leary has always provided well researched and accurate accounts of foreign countries and the hostile events within to add realism and truth to her storylines, and this one is no exception.
Imagine if you will an evil so profound that it thrives on the degradation and abuse of others for nothing more than monetary gain and brief physical pleasure that will scar an innocent’s psych for the rest of their natural lives. But heroes live for a reason, and no one values the innocents more than a Navy SEAL; their determination to leave no one behind and risk life and limb to serve and protect goes far above what anyone else would endure, and it’s these exceptional warriors that ensure evil is exterminated and loved ones are returned home where healing can begin.
Her Faithful SEAL is an action-packed, heartbreaking and powerfully emotional story that brings vile, reprehensible, and malevolent beings to justice and highlights the need for emotional healing once the physical pain and psychological terror has finally ended and the road to recovery is within one’s grasp. Her Faithful SEAL is unquestionably another impressive and thoroughly entertaining story from Ms O’Leary and my only criticism would be I felt the ending was a little rushed, however it is still a fabulous book and sure be a favourite with her many fans.

Nic finally gets put in his place in Her Faithful Protector. Cami and Nic are a great second chance couple. We've been seeing the team tease Nic about being the player of the team and not wanting to settle down. I've been waiting for him to 'get his', and Caitlyn twisted it around on us. Turns out things weren't as we expected! Cami is a great foil to Nic. Being someone in the world of academia personally I didn't fully buy the entirety of her career and backstory, but it didn't detract at all from the story for me. This one is a bit less steamy than some of the other books in the series, but still has some great connection. And can I say Nic and Cami are some extremely mature 24 year olds? But I guess a SEAL will have to mature fast and a genius does as well? Now we just have to wait for Raiden and Lisa's story!

It’s been years since Nic has last seen Cami, but as soon as he learns she is part of a group of students that have been kidnapped for ransoms he has to remained focused to help get her to safety. Even after all the years apart there is still something that never faded between them and while his team thinks he’s this playboy he is helping his cousin while pining for the one that got away. I was so mad at Cami’s parents and their meddling in their daughter’s life the way they did because it caused them to miss out on each other’s lives and what they could have had earlier. This is one of my favorites of this series because when Nic went to save Cami there was no turning back and it was like all that time apart just disappeared.

Her Faithful Protector is a second chance romance story that will have you glued to the pages, at times holding your breath, and sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation.
Nic and Cami were high school sweethearts however career paths and meddling parents kept them apart. When their paths cross again not only will Nic need to save Cami but he will also fight for a second chance with the only woman he has ever loved.
What a journey. It was heartbreaking, action packed, swoon-worthy, frustrating (because seriously their is always that character you want to throat punch), heartwarming, and the sweet epilogue left me smiling.
I devoured this story and with an underlying storyline for the next book I can't wait to see what happens.

Nic Hale puts up a good front of being a lothario to his buddies but in reality he is nothing of the sort. He is a really good guy who spends his time helping out his family. He has only ever loved one woman and lost her years before. Coming into contact with his lost love int the middle of a hostage situation brings him to the realization that his feels never died for her and he wants another chance. Cami is sweet and brilliant. She isn’t sure she should give him another chance but she still loves him. Before they an make. Life together though she has to come to grips with what happened story her.

I Love It!
This Night Storm series just keeps getting better!
The story starts out incredibly intense with the capture of a bus load of American University grad students on their way to tour the Mayan ruins in Mexico by a group of Mexican mercenaries looking to score big money from the wealthy families of these students. I couldn’t put this book down until I was finished! One terrifying moment after one terrifying moment for these horrified young students to endure at the hands of these malicious monsters.
I love how the storyline was set up with Nic finding out who was on the list of hostages when they found the wreckage of the bus crash and the murdered people outside and on board. His focus on Camilla turns into a mind bender for sure.
I also enjoy the easy going camaraderie of the team as they go through their early morning work out including the obstacle course that most civilians couldn’t accomplish let alone accomplish in a respectable and record keeping amount of time. When they get the call to rescue hostages, the devil is in the details with how this team prepares and work through various scenarios for plans to infiltrate the area undetected. The team members are so in sync with each other they know what the others are capable of and what methods will be used in eliminating the enemy and resolving the situation. They will need to be a very well oiled machine in order to rescue the hostages in the middle of the jungle with an unknown number of armed mercenaries.
It’s a real page turner when the team finds the village where the hostages are being held along with the possible casualties of the villagers in the mix. I was relieved when Nic was determined to focus on his job in order to help secure the hostages safely instead of running blindly to Cami to ensure she was okay. It was intense when Lisa and Cami were being targeted and I cheered for them when they were saved from the intended assault. I wish there could have been a little more attention and drama for the demise of El Jefe and Maria should have had to pay dearly for her arrogance and brutal treatment of Lisa and Cami as well as the other females in the group.
I loved the way Nic dealt with Cami’s arrogant and snooty mother. I thought he was being kind and indulgent in his way of making sure Mommy Dearest was told off and shown the door. Cami didn’t do too bad either. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to hold my tongue in that family dynamic. Nic’s devotion to Cami is very evident and so sweet. They are definitely soul mates and destined to spend their lives together! A beautiful love story despite how they got there!

Her Faithful Protector is a fast-paced action-filled story and is the sixth in the Night Storm series. This book tells Nic and Cami’s story and while well integrated in the series stands alone. Nic is the youngest of the team and portrays himself as a bit of a playboy, but we quickly learn that his is far from being that shallow and that he still has feelings for the one who got away. Cami is a smart, strong and resilient woman who can’t forget her first love. Cami is in Mexico and her tour group is kidnapped by some very bad actors. Nic and his team are sent in to rescue them, but neither knows the other is involved initially.
The story keeps you on edge as the kidnapped victims are tormented and abused by their captors and our SEAL team searches for them. Once Nic realizes Cami is one of the victims, he is anxious and pushes the team to save her as quickly as possible. The rescue scene includes some horrible events for the kidnapped victims and some innocent bystanders at the hands of the truly evil kidnappers. Once Cami is rescued, she and Nic have some misunderstandings to overcome and Cami has to come to terms with some things from her past so that they can be together. The rebuilding of the relationship is sweet and Nic is very patient. Just to make things more challenging for the couple, Cami has to heal from both her physical and emotional injuries from her ordeal, but that just reveals her strength.
Caitlyn O’Leary has written another great story that makes you believe in second chances and the power of good over evil. T. I was so caught up in the action in the story that I lost track of time and read it in one sitting. I was just sorry when the story was over, but am looking forward to the next book which was set up in this one and is going to tell Lisa’s story (she is the tour guide of the kidnapped group) and suffered severely at the hands of the kidnappers.

Her Faithful Protector is the 6th installment in Caitlyn O’Leary’s Night Storm Series, in which the youngest member of the team, Nic Hale, comes face to face with the one that got away, while on a rescue mission in Mexico. As with previous books, we get plenty of suspense, action, plot twists, and a great set up for the next book! A large focus of the book is on the kidnapping situation and the rescue, and the drama and action that occurs with the characters involved in that. It gets very real, raw, and emotional, and is very well written, but might be difficult for some readers. I love the scenes of the SEALS in action with their precision and how they are in sync with each other. Then, at other times, they can relax together when not on mission and their witty banter comes out. Honestly it’s that world building that Caitlyn O’Leary has perfected while linking multiple series that draws me in so quickly. The characters are so well developed you feel like you know them, and can’t wait for the next glimpse. The other major focus is the relationship between Nic and Camilla. I couldn’t read fast enough to figure out how they ended up apart, since they had loved each other so much! And I’ll just say, the answer to that definitely stirred some negative emotions in me towards a character!🤣 The book did leave me with a few questions about one character, but the way it was wrapped up I know it will be fleshed out in Raiden’s book! I can’t wait for that!! I definitely recommend this book, as well as the rest of the Night Storm Series!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book opens with Camilla Ross and a group of students on a tour bus being taken hostage in Mexico. Interestingly their tour guide, Lisa, is an American as well and she is able to translate the leader's demands. Of course their are always those couple who try the patience of everyone. Trent, a football player is one and Roxanne a socialite is another. Not surprising the female of the perpetrators is the harshest.
We first see Nic and his team doing an obstacle course with all the ribbing that goes along with it. Including the hits on Nic's bachelor status. Little do they know he's not womanizing, he's taking care of his cousin and her child. It's not until the next day that the team gets a heads up on the situation in Mexico. When they finally get the go they still don't have much information other than the location where the group was taken.
We get to see the tour group as things slowly escalate there, starting with the bus rolling. An almost attempt by the football players to get rid of El Jefe leads to deaths as an example and then they're walking.
When the team reaches the overturned bus, the details start coming in about the group.
The rescue is tense and Camilla and Lisa are pretty severely wounded. Nic is allowed to escort the group to the hospital and wait for parents to show up.
The dynamic between Camilla and Nic is very interesting since Camilla thinks Nic ghosted her and Nic thinks Camilla got married. I do have to say Camilla's mother is a real piece of work.

If the first two thirds of Her Faithful Protector does not have you on the edge of your seat reading as fast as you can to find out what happens next, I am not sure what will. Caitlyn O'Leary really pulled out all the stops with the suspense, action and danger. The vicious and brutal gang kidnaps a bus load of college students including an advisor, force marches them through the jungle while beating and injuring them and then makes ransom demands. They spare no one of their brutality. Wow! I couldn't put it down. Cover to cover in one reading.
Nic Hale is the youngest, least experienced member of Night Storm and therefore works harder to prove himself. He goes out of his way to enhance his player status when it couldn't be farther from the truth. Finding out that the woman who captured his teenage heart is among the kidnapped really sets him back on his heels. Camilla Ross willingly stands up to the kidnappers and takes much of the brunt of their abuse. Her courage is awesome but underneath she's absolutely terrified. Having the SEALs come to their rescue is an answer to a prayer. Nic being part of that team is a miracle. When they finally talk and clear the air after six years it becomes apparent that their relationship or lack there of was manipulated by others. Their love hasn't died, if anything it's just been simmering under the surface. Rekindling it is no hardship but the journey back to normalcy is a tough one. Nic proves over and over the kind of loving, caring man he is.

Finding out that the woman who captured his teenage heart is among the kidnapped really sets him back on his heels. Camilla Ross willingly stands up to the kidnappers and takes much of the brunt of their abuse. Her courage is awesome but underneath she's absolutely terrified. Having the SEALs come to their rescue is an answer to a prayer. Nic being part of that team is a miracle. When they finally talk and clear the air after six years it becomes apparent that their relationship or lack there of was manipulated by others. Their love hasn't died, if anything it's just been simmering under the surface. Rekindling it is no hardship but the journey back to normalcy is a tough one. Nic proves over and over the kind of loving, caring man he is.

Her Faithful Protector is the 6thin the series in Caitlyn O’Leary’s Night Storm books, and I loved it.
Nic hale ins the youngest member of the Seal team who wants to be seen in the team as a playboy when really he’s a sweetheart, deep down he’s a loyal family guy who lost his first love through being young and stupid.
A kidnap mission in Mexico comes in and sees him come face to face and saving the one that got away, His Cami.
As with previous books in the series we get action and suspense, though for me it felt low in the romance portion.
A large focus of the book is on the kidnapping and the rescue with all the drama and action it entailed. It gets very real, raw, and emotional, and i thought very honest and well written, it’s a tough topic and not a delicate wispy washy read.
The actual rescue was precise and well thought out clearly a Seal team who work as a perfect well oiled machine.
Great characters that left me feeling that I really knew them, and can’t wait for the next storyline in book 7. Cami’s parents broke them up years ago and Cami seemed immune to her parents coldness, I wanted to hug cami tbh how her mother spoke to her, we didn’t get to see her father but he seemed the same cold and aloof style of parenting
The book did leave me with a few unanswered questions, I like all ends tied lol, maybe they’ll be answered. In book7.

Nic may be the "baby" of his SEAL team but he is just as protective, possessive, and exciting as the rest of the guys!
Nic is a bit of a dark horse - he sure kept his smushy caring self from his teammates, they all think he's 100% player but he hides that caring core well! He is just a big softy around those who he feels safe enough to let down his tough-guy facade.
Cami has been neck-deep in Academia her entire life. Her parents pretty much mapped out her life and they did NOT leave room for Nic. But she has pretty much measured every male against him since he left her. But when a simple college trip to Latin America goes awry, she may just see Nic sooner than she thought!
I loved Nic - he is a total teddy bear! He has the player facade but at heart, he's a romantic. Cami and Nic are sweet together without being saccharine sweet. Cami's mum is just a dragon - how Cami managed to turn out as well as she did I'll never know.
A little less steamy than the others of this series but that is in no way a detriment - these two had a backstory to fill in the "blanks" as it were.

Her Faithful Protector is the the 6 book in the Night Storm series. This is Nic’s story. Nic is the youngest member of the Night Storm Team. His teammates tease him for being the lover of the group. But still waters run deep. Nic is actually still in love with his high school sweetheart, Camilla/Cami Ross. They broke up when Cami left for college, not because he didn’t love her but she was a brilliant student, and Nic had his heart set on becoming a SEAL. He tried to get to her agree to wait until they had both accomplished their goals , but it didn’t work out. Fast forward six years, and The Team got an assignment to rescue a group of students that had been kidnapped in Mexico by a murderous gang and were being ransomed off. When they track the kidnappers down, Nic learns that Cami, now Professor Ross, was one of their prisoners. What follows is brutal! The kidnappers are ruthless, They have already killed 4 and won’t hesitate to kill more if the parents don’t pay the ransoms. Nic and his team must walk an extreme tightrope in order to rescue Cami and the rest! This book kept me on the edge of my seat , and up way too late reading! So not miss Nic and Cami’s story!

Cami is on a trip with some of her students when they're taken by an evil group who are going to ransom them. This same group has no problem committing murder, so regular beatings are fun to them on top of making the victim walk a great distance until some fell out . I felt like my heart was in my throat the whole time as it hurt my heart so much because it felt so realistic. Nic is a Navy SEAL who is on the team called in to rescue the Americans, but it gets more complicated when he realizes that his childhood sweetheart is one of the kidnapped. He never got over her, so he's a bit more emotional than he would normally be. Cami never got over him either, but when he decided for them to break up, he cut off all communication which broke her heart. These two went through a lot that was just unnecessary, but there's still a rescue that must take place before they can talk about the past, and maybe just maybe, a second chance at a future together. So yeah, this was one hell of an emotional, and heart racing ride that you don't want to miss out on! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Mildly Disappointed
3.5 Stars - I am a really big fan of this series and author, but Nic and Cami's story left me disappointed this time around. Don't get me wrong, the plot was incredible. It was parts of the execution that left me underwhelmed. There was an error with a bottled water. Then there was not witnessing Nic's part of the "Menu" towards the end. I felt the build up to their incredible moment and then there was none. From the menu, we witnessed the appetizer and not the main course. Nic deserved his moment, as a reader who was vested in the story, I wanted to witness his thoughts and feelings of that culminating moment...and then nothing... I truly wondered if there was an error of missing pages. I stopped and went back to check to see if I had skipped ahead by accident, but no. I would have given this five stars, but I could not. I can only give my honest review. This is the first book in this series that I have been disappointed in. I hope the next story is complete and fulfilling.

Love! Love! Love! This series and this book! Ms. O'Leary is a master of words! Her military romance are my all time favorite! She just knows how to pull you in and you experience everything that the characters do as you read their story. You are totally invested and can not put her book down. I love how she includes the team members and you get updates on them in her books. She writes them to be the family they are!!! Never a dull moment in action, support or love for her characters! Sorry, I was fan girling for a moment but it is how I see things! Nic and Cami touched my heart. Their chance at love is a second chance. Will fate be kind or ruthless? Nic is not afraid to fight for his country or his love! Will Cami take a leap of faith and give him a fair chance? Can they beat the odds? Can Nic and his team get the job done? Is their love worth all the sacrifices that will be made? Only one way to find out! Check out this book! Worth every minute you spend reading to find out! I can not wait to get my hands on the next book! Wish I could give more than 5 stars! 💜

This one had my heart in my throat for the better part of it. How Cami and Nic get their second chance is not at all typical or ordinary. Quite by accident, but when Nic realizes it's his Cami that's been kidnapped his whole demeanor undergoes so many changes, but he has to follow protocol. A test of the highest strengths for baby Nic, here. And Cami, Omg, she is so strong and perserveres through some heinous acts against humans, including herself. I was right there in that jungle with them. I think I gulped air toward the end.
It's not over, there's a few more people who have to be put in their place, and I was happily cheering these two on, and loved every bit of the whole journey! As long as I got my HEA along with Nic and Cami, I am a happy camper. Awesome, emotional read, with bits of humor and heat, and some serious realities of today's world that I pray move to the bowels of hades.

When Nic falls is it going to be his second chance with his first love?
Nic is considered a man-whore but is he really? He fell in love in high school but let her go so he could concentrate on the first couple years in the Navy and getting his SEAL trident. He also wanted her to get her college education and then they would get married. But that never happened. Now Cami is in Mexico with a bunch of students when they are kidnapped. Nic and his team are sent in to rescue them but don't get the names until they are in search of them in Mexico. Cami is trying to be strong for the students but ends up being beaten and almost raped. When they get everyone back to the states, Nic stays at the hospital with Cami. He wants her to come home with him and he will take care of her. He also wants a second chance with her because he realizes that he never stopped loving her. Will she go home with him or let her mother control her? Will they get their second chance?

Her Faithful Protector is yet another reason why Caitlyn O'Leary is one of my all-time favourite authors, I loved Nic and Cami's second chance story. Seal cub Nic Hale is all grown up and despite the vibe he puts out he isn't quite the ladies’ man his team think he is. Nic and Camilla Ross were high school sweethearts who though they had together mapped out until Nic's honourable intentions and others meddling pushed them far apart. Now six years later when Nic learns the only woman he ever loved is one of a group of students kidnapped for ransom in Mexico he is desperate to save her and as Cami struggles to survive she clings to her dreams of her true love Nic. Will Nic manage to rescue Cami in time so they can have the second chance they deserve?
This was an absolute action-packed page turner and the action is quite brutal times be warned, it's all about young love, sweet romance and second chances, a couple who are meant to be and of course my beloved Night Storm Team!

Nic is a twenty-four year old that lets his buddies believe he’s a womanizer when in fact is anything but that. He gave his heart to Cami/Camille Ross when he was on eight-teen and now his goal is to help his cousin and her little girl.
When his team is called to retrieve a university group that has been taken hostage in Mexico, he is shocked that Cami is one of them.
The hostage situation and later the rescue leaves your heart aching for all those involved.

Even with the hostage situation, this was a tamer, sweet, story about two mature 24 year olds that get a second chance to find happiness.

I l oh ve that he cares so deeply for those around him I love that he has kept his heart safe for Cami even if he didn't realize it. I loved meeting Cami. It wasn't the best circumstances but we got to see the nature of the woman who holds Nic's heart. I loved seeing the strength Cami showed as she tried to protect her charges. She knew it wasn't great odds but she tried and was even strategic with her efforts. But could she allow Nic back into her heart after all she endures? I enjoyed finding out as Ms. O'Leary gave us a story full of action, hope and love.

Camilla is genius-level mathematician working on her doctorate As one of the oldest in the student tour group who is captured for ransom, she tried to set a good example and lead the others.
Fabulous telling of his story, her trials in the hands of their captors, and backstory of their time together earlier. Each piece would stand of its own, but together we get a full picture of these two who were meant to be together.
Raw, emotional and definitely romantic. The caliber one always receives from this marvelous author.

This book opens up with a nail biting scene that introduces the reader to Cami... Boy did I feel tense while turning the pages. It's both heartbreaking and courageous at the same time.
Ms O'Leary certainly has a gift for creating some seriously suspenseful military romance books.
I'm not going to mention anything about the story as I hate reviews that Tell you the storyline.
I'm just going to say if you love SEAL Based romantic suspense books then start reading Caitlin O'Leary's books. I've not read one I haven't Loved.
I basically stayed up all night reading this book.

WOW! This story was intense right from Chapter one! This story is about Nic and Cami. Camo is kidnapped while in Mexico a long with her fellow students. It's unfortunate that four of them died - that was sad. When Nic found out his Cami was one of the kidnapped victims, he tried desperately to keep his head on the mission. Once they were all rescued, Cami made the decision to stay with Nic while recovering instead of with her toxic parents. These two found their way back to each other and given a second chance. In the end, Cami couldn't wait for Nic to propose so she asked him to marry her. Nic, of course, said yes then he proposed to her and she said yes too! Now these two are working on their happily ever after! FANTASTIC job Caitlyn! I would recommend this book!
