Dammit! He made me cry again. I won't tell you why, but the title says it all. Can't wait to read the rest of the crossover with Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter.
Ok this author is now on a timer. You can't leave your fans hanging like this without having the next book ready to go. As always this episode of Bubba wE the rollercoaster of demonic blood soaked comedy that I have come to enjoy. I am however now crushed at the loss of one of my favourite characters. So please hurry up with the next book. I need to know how far sideways this is going to go.
Fourth and final novella of the fifth season of Bubba. (You can get the collected volume in Blood, Sweat, & Tears.) This story overlaps with Mr. Hartness' Quincy Hartness series, but can be read without knowing all the background of the Quincy-verse.
What matters is the man the world once knew as Dracula just lost one of his favorite humans. When normal beings lose someone this close to violence, they go on drinking sprees. "Drinking spree" takes on new meaning when applied to the world's most famous vampire. Bubba's job is to bring him back before that becomes a problem.
But can he? Especially when while Monster Hunting, something is hunting him and his team. Can they all make it out alive? (or undead in one case.)
This is a masterpiece of a book with the laughter and tears only possible with a long-running series where you KNOW the characters.
We have Bubba ,Amy, Joe, Gabby, Harkness, Dracula and more. They are on the hunt for Dracula to make sure he hasn't gone off the deep end. They have to fight mercenaries, and others also after Dracula. The evil they fight causes great harm and loss. Even with the sadness there is still the red neck humor. I just wish the story was longer
In this latest episode, Bubba goes after the most famous monster yet... but there’s more to it than that. Of course there is! This is a Bubba story, and while some things are straightforward (beer and explosions and his love for his truck) others are not so much. I really enjoyed the way this episode managed to kick everything up a notch - in terms of character development and in terms of the monsters Team Bubba is heading out to face. I might even eventually forgive the author for something I’m not going to mention in this review because spoilers. Can’t wait for the next one!
The meeting of two heavy weights is always more than you could expect. Quincy and Bubba are no different. The pain is palpable, the sarcasm is thick as ever, and the action scenes seem Neverending. Loved, with great sorrow, for this boom. I can't wait til the next one.
My god... John Hartness finally gives us the Bubba/Quincy Harker cross over we've been waiting for since we found out they knew of eachother... and he delivers this masterful story. John Harness is just that, a story teller. This one sucks you in and keeps you reading til the very end... and then you want more.
5 stars! I've been dieing for Bubba to meet Q since the first books were out in their series and this was all I could have hoped for, accept it ended Way To Soon! Must have the rest of the story!
The last Quincy Harker book finished with Luke, aka Dracula, going rogue. This cross over brings Bubba and his team in to hunt him down. Another good book in this entertaining series, Bubba is on top form, as he does things his way when plan A inevitably fails!!
Well if you are thinking about this book you either have great taste in books or you are still wondering what monster hunter is all about. This while short is as good as the others in this world of monster hunter international.
This book is full of humor, action, and tearjerking sadness. It looks like the typos haunting the earlier novels has been taken care of making this much easier to read. I was hampered by reading it out of sequence but still enjoyed it quite a bit.
John G. Hartness always provides great entertainment. Very interesting interaction with the main characters. Can't wait for more. Mr. Hartness, please write faster!
Another excellent addition to the many wonderful novels Hartness writes. It has everything you could want and I thought of this genre. I highly recommended.
I love the books, but I feel sorry for people who never read Bubba before and HAVE to read the last 2 books for the resolution of Quincy Harker's storyline from "Conspiracy Theory". The series have a different feel. If it was something minor like the cross-overs with Mason Dixon I wouldn’t have a problem. However this book deals with a HEAVY Harker storyline that people who have never read that series are going to be a bit lost.
