I enjoyed reading Phobia!: An Anthology of Fear. All of the many authors here take a different approach to the theme of "things that keep you up at night." I found it interesting how many of the phobias were instilled in the characters during their early years, coming back to haunt them as adults in scary (but believable) ways. None of the stories are particularly long, but the short lengths make them go down very easily. You can read three or four of them over your lunch break, should you enjoy fast, creepy stories about people meeting some terrifying fears head on. Don't think that everyone will "make it," though, because here, as in many great horror tales, sometimes the phobia wins!
This is a good compilation of short stories involving a myriad of phobias sure to make your skin crawl at some point, with no two stories being alike. The majority of the stories are well written and well-rounded, easily capturing the readers interest. They all are very different in setting, tone and mood, representing a wide spectrum of things that cause fear in people, animals and even elves. In some of the stories the phobias are quite obvious and common, while others may seem irrational to the reader yet written in a thought provoking way even the fearless can understand. They are short enough to keep you reading until the end, and long enough to encompass a complete story.
